    I was having a bad day, and then I watched this. Rybakina may have won, but Emma's performance was truly an inspiration. This was a big match in her development and in that set 2 performance you could see her growing ability to play versus an elite talent who operates at a faster pace. I think the biggest winner here was Emma. Love that lady!

    People like to see a few players dominating, but actually the WTA has incredible depths. Anyone in the top 50 can upset the top players on any day.

    Elena’s shots are unbelievable, its like a canon lol her opponents always make their way back to the endline as most of the times her shots are on the line

    As a Rybakina fan so many of her matches really put me into a trance as players who I wouldn't pick to stand a chance push her close to the distance, however this is what separates the elite from the good, being able to win when not at your best.

    Navarro is really improving so fast! She plays a lot like Ash Barty with her variety, sneaky power and high tennis IQ. Always fun to watch her work the ball around and probe for openings. Plus, she has the calm demeanor as Barty & Tommy Paul.

    Rybakina seems to have lapses of concentration. She made the match much more difficult than it needed to be. Rybakina is playing Fernandez next and that’ll be a challenge.

    I was hoping Rybakina won't be tired in 3rd set . Rest well dear. U played a good match with heavy winners. Just minimize unforced errors.

      Yes I think she is tired. This is her 8th match in a row. I see people talking about her chockeing. They don't remember that she is a human sometimes. I am happy for her win and wish her all the best for the rest of the tournament.

    My two fav players are both calm and quiet, It’s clear that Emma has improved, while Elena seems a bit tired but still so good.Watching their matches is a pleasure !❤

    Navarro has such a beautiful APT-like forehand: the arm starting from the bend to the direct position, the wrist follows freely, the lasso on heavy topspin. I hope she appears here more often.

    Obviously the player wanna win doesn't matter how, the stats are for fans and newsletters and Rybakina won it so that's nice. I couldn't watch and I couldn't be happier cuz it seemed high-level of stress I lost 5 years of life last tiebreak Rybakina lost 😂

    Is Rybakina falling asleep during match? Winning is fine but she spends too much energy in the earlier rounds. That will affect her in the later rounds. She is a contender any time she enters a tournament, so she'd better cut that habit (?) out.

      Ryba's biggest mystery is why she sometimes plays so hard with rivals who are much lower than her in the ranking.

      Give credit where it is due. Navarro played brilliant in second set, going toe to toe. Every game players evolved. So need to respect the players progress

      Emma did play some brilliant tennis in the second & third set, dude. She won Hobart this year & had been a Semifinalist in Auckland.

      Emma is number 23 in the world. Not shabby at all. Rybakina is playing lots of tennis and doing lots of winning (two tournaments in the first 6 weeks of the year and she could win this one as well).

      The point is, Elena could close the match in two but probably she's still traumatized by her tiebreak loss against Blinkova and boom, nervy. And let's be real here, Elena allowed Emma to play better as her first serve rate dropped

    Tennis by Navarro in 3 steps:
    1st set = observing oponent's game and loosing
    2nd set = making adjustment and adapting and winning
    3rd set = always questionable

    Emma Navarro is simply awesome. Such a professional player. No whining, no frowning, no grunting, never gives up, always thinking and adjusting as necessary. She may get blasted off the court by some of the biggest hitters but they better not miss because she won't give up or give away any easy points.

      Yelena is the Russian version. They are pointing out her Russian ethnic roots. Probably a political dig. The WTA is very political. Sadly.

    По своему потенциалу и технической оснащенности, Рыбакина, пожалуй, самая сильная теннисистка в туре на данный момент. У нее есть почти все. У нее прекрасные природные данные, она ментально и эмоционально неуязвима, великолепно технически оснащена. Ей вообще никто не страшен, даже соперницы из топ-5. Она могла бы буквально сметать всех со своего пути. Но.
    У нее регулярно возникают необъяснимые (лично для меня) проблемы с довольно средними теннисистками, которые проявляют хотя бы минимальное упорство и боевой дух. Кажется, что она во всей своей мощи и со своим характером победителя может их сломать как спичку, буквально снести с корта, но вместо этого ее матчи выливаются в какое-то мучительное перетягивание каната. И с кем??? С соперницами гораздо ниже ее классом. Ни у Сабы, ни у Иги такой проблемы со средними игроками просто нет!
    В связи с этим крайне важным становится тактика "быстрый старт" или "мощный старт", которая позволяет Лене хотя бы подстраховаться на случай провалов во втором сете. Без этого все было бы гораздо печальнее.
    И я сейчас не представляю себе, как Лена собирается играть с набравшей ход Фернандес. Надежда на все тот же быстрый вход в игру и разгром соперницы уже в первом сете. Но даст ли это сделать находящаяся в отличной форме канадка?

    Whenever somebody plays against Elena they look to be a future prospect...like Emma, blinkova etc...but sadly we can see in next matches they fail terribly and go unnoticed...I wonder how these players compete.well against Elena...may be Elena taking these type of players lightly and playing her b game and then finally struggle to win in 3set tight matches...

    Elena Rybakina began choking at 5-0 in the 1st set, and continued to choke for the remainder of the match. It was a miracle that she actually won the match in the end. It'll be her last win at this tournament. Quite simply she hasn't psychologically recovered from her loss to Blinkova at the Australian Open. She's unrecognisable from the player who won Wimbledon in 2022. 🎾

      What a ridiculous comment. She won the next tournament after the A.O. that she was in (Abu Dhabi) and has won two tournaments in only 6 weeks this year. She did not choke today. She WON.
