TY BigTractor for giving explanation on harvesting and planting, much appreciated. It might be repetitive to you but for this Not-A-Farmer guy, it is well worth to hear.
Morning Y'all All that Wheat got me in the mood for some Wheat Toast W/Butter & Coffee. Nice machinery working out in the field. Much appreciated. TY 🚜🇺🇸
Wheat harvest and hay cutting has started in North Texas. I'm currently visiting Waco and a hay farmer runs dual New Hollands here. A newer t7 series with a 1650 and a NH swather.
Awesome coverage as always !!...love those CR s.....the farm really likes their blue..they seem to be a pretty quiet running machine from inside the cab ...they do nice job of threshing???.....I’ll take 2 rotors over one any day 😜
Farming 4G MacDon also makes the factory Draper heads for CNH and I’m pretty sure the ones with “MacDon” on them are cheaper than the factory Case Ih or New Holland name.
Thank you for watching. It has been one of the wettest seasons here. Lots of rain in the fall when the crop was planted, a long cool wet spring and now a tropical storm passing through at harvest time. Next year could be a drought though.
For Europeans and our metric system of measurements : 1 bushel of wheat/soybean is 27.22kg 1 bushel of corn is 25.4kg 1 US acre is 4046m or 0.4046Ha 1 foot is 30.5cm or 0.305m 1 inch is 2.54cm or 0.0254m so in this video we have: yiald of wheat 80-90 bushels/acre or 2177-2450 kg/acre in metric unit it will be 5.8-6.0t/Ha
I am not familiar with the tracked grain wagons at all except for seeing them on BTP. I can see the floatation advantage. Seems maneuverability would be difficult but then with enough power it is probably not a factor. Any other pro's and con's? Incredible, 42 tons of just grain alone!
15 years ago most area farms ran grain carts with duals. There was a very wet fall and the tracked carts floated across the field where the duals sank in deep. The tracks are now on most area farms. They reduce compaction. The only limitation is you have to make 120 ft turns to reduce wear on the tracks.
I see a lot of jd seeders from various different youtubers and the precision options available when linked to jd tractors. Would be good to see how kinze implements/ seeders work up in the cab, linked up to the various precious farming options
Bob Anderegg There is a cab and engine air filter. You’re supposed to change them everyday and replace them with new ones. Most people blow them out really good and put them back in, because the filters are pretty expensive.
How’s the health of the crop this year? My family farms in SW KS and the wheat out here is very short because of the cold and very dry spring we’ve had. S680 might be out rolling in 2-3 weeks!!
Thank you for watching. A google search stated one bushel of wheat in a metric tonne converts to 36.7440. There is chart for grain crop conversions from a bushel to a metric tonne @ www.agric.gov.ab.ca/app19/calc/crop/bushel2tonne.jsp
After 3 inches of rain from the tropical storm last night and more rain on the way through the weekend there will not be any machines rolling here until at least next week. Some down wheat now unfortunately.
there is some farmers in Bowling Green Ky I think they farm 12000 acres of Corn soybeans wheat you may want to check them out they have about 1100 acres in front of me Stokleys is the name
How long can the land sustain growing crops when you take a crop off and come right behind and replant it!! I just can't understand how the ground can keep doing this year after year with just pouring more and mor fertilizer into the ground and expect it to just keep on growing grain. Can anyone explain how this way of growing is sustainable thanks!!!!
He gains organic matter by leaving the wheat stubble he puts back what nutrients are needed to grow next crop when no tilling over stubble leaving the land better then he got it for the next generation growing two crops doesn't hurt the soil with the right practices
Wayne Rogers During the winter months farmers do soil testing and pH checks. If it needs a higher pH they spread lime, manure and inject anhydrous ammonia. They also use less tillage and double crop right into previous crop stubble.
It’s wheat time. After 3 inches of rain from the tropical storm last night and more rain on the way through the weekend there will not be any machines rolling here until at least next week. Some down wheat now unfortunately. As soon as it drys up I should be out with S790 combines.
TY BigTractor for giving explanation on harvesting and planting, much appreciated. It might be repetitive to you but for this Not-A-Farmer guy, it is well worth to hear.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for your kind comment.
Always nice to see a BTP video thank you. Wish i was sitting in the combine but, getting to watch them is enjoyable also.
Thank you for watching and commenting on BTP videos.
Thanks again for these great videos, BTP. I don't feel I thank you enough. This NH equipment does great fieldwork.
I am always on the look out for New Holland. Thank you for your comment and for watching.
You're sure welcome! Are you coming back to the Bootheel this fall for the cotton harvest?
8090s? Awww they are so cute
Morning Y'all All that Wheat got me in the mood for some Wheat Toast W/Butter & Coffee. Nice machinery working out in the field. Much appreciated. TY 🚜🇺🇸
Good deal. Thank you for watching.
Wheat harvest and hay cutting has started in North Texas. I'm currently visiting Waco and a hay farmer runs dual New Hollands here. A newer t7 series with a 1650 and a NH swather.
Don’t ever stop what you’re doing!
Thank you. I enjoy it. I have been photography machines since the 80’s and filming for 15 years. I plan to keep in going. It’s fun.
Enormous machinery...thank you once more for the great North American footage.
Thank you for watching.
Really working the NH with that big of a cart. Awesome video.
The cart hold 84,000 pounds. The T8.390 is hard at work for sure.
Awesome coverage as always !!...love those CR s.....the farm really likes their blue..they seem to be a pretty quiet running machine from inside the cab ...they do nice job of threshing???.....I’ll take 2 rotors over one any day 😜
Doesn't seem to matter what brand the harvester is... but always see those MacDon headers lol. They are good heads.
MacDon is very very popular here in Kentucky. Almost every farm I film at used them.
Main head for windrowers and combines here in Alberta, Canada as well.
Farming 4G MacDon also makes the factory Draper heads for CNH and I’m pretty sure the ones with “MacDon” on them are cheaper than the factory Case Ih or New Holland name.
Thank you for the video
Thank you for watching.
Great video! Biggest combines I have ever seen!
Thank you for watching.
good yield!!!.. we are planting wheat in this moment in Córdoba Argentina.. after the last season most dried in the history of my country
Thank you for watching. It has been one of the wettest seasons here. Lots of rain in the fall when the crop was planted, a long cool wet spring and now a tropical storm passing through at harvest time. Next year could be a drought though.
ZI did enjoy looking at the video big tractors Power Kentucky looks like a really good farm state 😉🐝
Thank you. WKY is a big farming area. It’s where the mid west meets the south.
Hi from Costa Rica 🇨🇷 I love watching your videos I have cuestión why you don’t use a drone to make the videos even better?? Thanks
For Europeans and our metric system of measurements :
1 bushel of wheat/soybean is 27.22kg
1 bushel of corn is 25.4kg
1 US acre is 4046m or 0.4046Ha
1 foot is 30.5cm or 0.305m
1 inch is 2.54cm or 0.0254m
so in this video we have:
yiald of wheat 80-90 bushels/acre or 2177-2450 kg/acre in metric unit it will be 5.8-6.0t/Ha
Looks like they could use a bit more capacity. Be real quick hopper fill on a good corn crop
I am not familiar with the tracked grain wagons at all except for seeing them on BTP. I can see the floatation advantage. Seems maneuverability would be difficult but then with enough power it is probably not a factor. Any other pro's and con's? Incredible, 42 tons of just grain alone!

How much weight is in that cart? Great videos, must be a good feeling being around all that nice big equipment.
It’s always fun to see several machines working in the same field. A bushel of wheat is 60 pounds so the J&M cart can hold 84,000 pounds of wheat.
Do a heck of a job chopping up the straw and spreading it.
Have you over at Bigtractorpower had a chance to ride on one of the Ideal combines from AGCO yet?
Net yet. They are introducing the Ideal in Canada next week. I hope to see one to film this fall.
Sounds like they're dealer demo's only this year, and the full production machines arrive in 2019.
Excellent video on NH
Thank you.
What was that animal running alongside starting at 12:07 ? Too small for a dog maybe?
It is a rabbit. We have lots of them in the fields.
How often do the air filters need cleaned?
I do not know.
Bob Anderegg There is a cab and engine air filter. You’re supposed to change them everyday and replace them with new ones. Most people blow them out really good and put them back in, because the filters are pretty expensive.
Carson Chaney sorry, not true. You can blow them as often as you want. You'll have to change them every 1200 hours or every year
Honestly I was just stating what I've always been told. Thanks for educating me on this, apologize for the wrong information.
Carson Chaney No worries.
How are they doing that after the big rain storm yesterday and today?
older footage, he said this was from a week or so ago
How’s the health of the crop this year? My family farms in SW KS and the wheat out here is very short because of the cold and very dry spring we’ve had. S680 might be out rolling in 2-3 weeks!!
Getting it done 👌
Nice video again. But I’m from the Uk and we talk in tons, could someone please tell me how many pounds or bushels make a ton?
Thank you for watching. A google search stated one bushel of wheat in a metric tonne converts to 36.7440. There is chart for grain crop conversions from a bushel to a metric tonne @ www.agric.gov.ab.ca/app19/calc/crop/bushel2tonne.jsp
Awesome video, dont see many of these around here. Mostly JDs here
The CRs are nice machine.
Love the blue
👍
J'adore trop beau magnifique
What was the temperature that day? Here in indiana we have been in the 90s for two weeks! Straight from winter to summer.
It’s been the same here. Long cool and wet spring. Finally in the 80s.
Well that was impressive thanks
Glad you liked it. Thank you for watching.
How much does 1400 bushels of wheat weigh?
Big Sasquatch A bushel of wheat weights 60lbs per bushel you are looking at 84,000 lbs or 42 ton .hope that help .
A bushel of wheat is 60 pounds. This cart will cart 84,000 pounds of wheat.
in metric units 1400 bushels is 38.2 tons or 38 200 kg (1 bushel of wheat is 27.22 kg)
Thanks!
Can’t believe already cutting we’re about 15 days off here in Kansas
After 3 inches of rain from the tropical storm last night and more rain on the way through the weekend there will not be any machines rolling here until at least next week. Some down wheat now unfortunately.
Keenan what part of ks are you at? I'm just north of Wichita and can harly wait to get started! Harvest fever lol
Jonathan Entz Just west of Sedgwick close to you if I remember right!?
Keenan Kelley, yes! Did we chat on a Welker farms live? Anyway were right around the Whitewater area!
Jonathan Entz Ya I Farm at Sedgwick and at Benton
Great Video👍 but how erly in Kentucky harvest season start's lol😂
Wheat normally starts in late May and runs to mid June.
Y’all cutting down there already we about a week away here.
After the 3 inches of rain last night it will be a few days before anyone is back in the fields. Looks like more rain through the weekend as well.
there is some farmers in Bowling Green Ky I think they farm 12000 acres of Corn soybeans wheat you may want to check them out they have about 1100 acres in front of me Stokleys is the name
Sounds like a nice operation.
What row width are the planters
20 inch

Wayne Rogers it’s a way to make money. The demand is high for crops.
You should check out ray archuleta. He has some interesting stuff in soil health.
depending on the germ percentage, anything above 80% you can grow back to back crops without fertilizing
Why they use Mac don heads why not use the original new Holland heads ?
Lennert Wuite The factory New Holland Draper headers are made by MacDon. It’s cheaper to buy them with the Macdon name instead of the factory header.
is this 2018 wheat?
It’s wheat time. After 3 inches of rain from the tropical storm last night and more rain on the way through the weekend there will not be any machines rolling here until at least next week. Some down wheat now unfortunately. As soon as it drys up I should be out with S790 combines.
💪💪NH
I enjoy find New Holland’s to film.
Mac.....Don. Not McDon. Thanx
Need to fire the tractor driver, made me ill watching all the wheat pissing out of the bin onto the combine roof. Apart from the waste great video.
