This is a fascinating topic, it's so interesting to listen to the different regional accents. I personally do not even attempt Scottish accents as it ends up terribly if I try. Your American accent had me laughing, that was really quite funny.
I like to think I can do more specific regional American accents than that, but my "generic" one made me laugh! It's sort of vaguely mid-western maybe? I'll maybe treat y'all to some followup attempts at accents in the future.
Thank you for showing all these examples including a visual representation of where the accent is from! I reeeeally like the Scottish accent but ironically I often don't even recognize it. I don't know much about it and didn't know how to seek content in a Scottish accent. Thank you for the recommendations as well!
You're welcome! I'm sure people smarter than me could explain why accents sound different due to different geographical constraints. I think there are a few cliched Scottish accents (like Braveheart or Shrek) which everyone recognises as Scottish, but you'd stuggle to place them on a map. You could maaaybe place to somewhere in the highlands, but most people even from that area don't speak like that. Most highland accents are much softer - David from the Isle of Lewis is probably the closest... but try as I might, I can't persuade him to shout "Freeeeeeedom!"
I've ended up changing the title to avoid similar misunderstandings. I don't think the speechmarks around "Scottish" made it obvious enough that I was being sneaky!
Don't thank god, thank me! I type them semi-manually for all my videos, as the auto-transcribe tools struggle even with my soft accent. For everyone else in this video it was clueless: "curly wurly" became "cuddly were early"

Challange Accepted!

I thought this video was going to be saying “Don’t do accents, it’s offensive”. Glad I watched the whole video before commenting something stupid.

Thank god for Closed Captions 😊 (spoken with my Sean Connery accent)

Saw the title. Came simply to say "no".
That is all
