1. Verify the number you are calling independently through searches, verify the email on the phone call. 2. Don't pay anything without sitting in the car, checking both VINs against databases and seeing a title with the same. Research what your state's car title should look like. 3. Check the seller's ID against the title. 4. For private sellers, do the $/title/key exchange in a bank. Lots of cameras. Dirtbags hate 'em, but legit sellers will have no problem with it.
Foolishness ,' sending that amount of coin to a fantom dealer. Even the legitimate dealer I'd need to see the vehicle and look it over and take a drive for a strait frame and check for bondo veneer covering rust and or collision damage. Make sure the registered owner is the person infront of me. Before even considering handing over that amount of cash. 😮
1:05 if your on disability. Crying to the news that you cannot buy your luxury items is a bad idea. When many people can't buy Food or pay there bills. Even if you got scammed.
Does disability verify how you live or what you do with your money? I mean to spend 25k on a car while being retired doesn’t seem smart. I would understand if he used his own investments or money and even if he did he still getting paid. Most people can’t even afford rent now a days.
Sad but welcome to capitalism. Looks like the individual didn't take enough time vetting out the website and the business. To spend that kind of money on anything, wouldn't you want to spend time and money to visit (in this case) the car too?
Am I the only one who can’t car about dumb old people sending their money to scammers? Like how have you lived this long and have that much money to blow lol
No way I would send that much money without seeing it in person first. He could have least put the money in escrow.
I say the same thing
I sent cash to these same scammers four times and and didn't receive any of the cars as advertised. I hope CBS News can help me get my money back.

A fool and his money are soon parted.
Rule #1 in 2024 and up: Don't trust no one, Don't trust authority, Don't trust nothing online.
