Ryan Ross offstage during the Fever era

- These clips are roughly in order. Sometimes I wasn’t sure if I wanted to put something in the context of when it was filmed vs when it aired. The June/July and November/December areas of 2006 are very very loosely organized haha.
This edit feels like it’s less than half of Ryan’s interviews from the Fever era (and that’s not even including print interviews). I keep remembering more & more videos that I didn’t take the time to save. Others get blocked. So I’m absolutely missing a LOT, but hopefully this is still fun. - Кино
I still get so angry thinking about how much disgusting hate panic got during this era, people wrote them off as a sell out “emo” band and failed to recognize ryan’s unmatched unique lyricism. I can only imagine the writer he would’ve grown into with the PATD concept, if they could have compromised on the sound and direction. brendon’s stage presence and vocal was just too marketable to not go more the pop route.
yeah it felt like they were getting a lot of hate, but I think that was because there was just SO much being said about them in general... there were also a lot of critics who acted like P!ATD walked on water and Ryan's lyrics were single-handedly saving the music scene. he was held up like a wunderkind (and even literally called that at times lol). So just because there was hate doesn't mean that there wasn't a flood of positive stuff too! :)
I'm not sure what you mean about the "PATD concept" though since that was constantly evolving & changing... and none of those guys would have ever been happy with a compromise on the sound or direction (especially Ryan).
@@prettyoddfever thanks so much for your response! your post is extremely informative and I love your perspective on things. by "PATD concept" I just mean the style of lyrics and melodies, for me, I feel like fever and pretty odd still had that theatric element to them, from ryan's lyrics and brendon's delivery of them. as far as the hate, I think I spent too much time on music forums as a pre teen defending panic at any costs so that's what I most recall lol. I agree, it really couldn't have worked in the long run, I just still dream of what ryan and brendon could've created together.
Is it bad if Brendon’s stage presence is marketable? I’m not being rude or anything I’m just asking if him having that was his main purpose in the band? Idk
We need Ryan ross now more then ever
And even more now
We need ryan be a friend to brendon

54:32 “you’re really nice, you’re so sweet. i want to take you home, i want to take care of you.” wow that was so wholesome and genuine, she’s such a sweetheart. really sums up why ryan’s legacy remains so prevalent even today. he was so unique, just a really gentle and creative soul, you could feel it just through his music and the screen.
ryan it's time to come back the kids miss you
39:51 That last Rage clip gets me every time, then the mood shift to Ryan's heartbreaking demeanour in the next clip, then straight into "I think it's about snakes being on a plane" "huh, that's unexpected" jesus what a rollercoaster
I know a decent amount of stuff abt Ryan, ie his abusive father, his grandfather passing away (I think?) but is there a known reason why he was so upset in this clip? :((
man i love the little grease ball that is teenage ryan... i love him so much
50:56 she saw her chance and took her shot lol
What an Era it was
so true
everyone is emo vibes except brendon. brendon just looks like a happy puppy
I was 8 during this era but my older sister was a huge fan. This was the first band i wanted to learn everything about (and fall out boy). This channel reignited my interest and taught me so much more. This is a very important channel.

I think its funny but honestly i still love it
the only video on this website that matters
i love you ryan ross 😭😭🙏🙏🙏
I adore spencer smith
There are not enough beautiful talented souls like Ryan Ross.
Hes so underrated & underappreciated.
Brendan Urie is overrated & basically got lucky he has a voice. But he's never written an album as amazing as AFYCSO & he's not anywhere near as clever. & Really lacks the snarky Ryan humor I love.
I think they both have their strengths & weaknesses. I agree that Brendon's not the writer that Ryan used to be, but Fever-era Ryan wasn't a charismatic performer like Brendon who could dance, act, improv, control a wild crowd, own the stage, and confidently strut around singing Ryan's risqué lyrics. They were a team who absolutely needed each other in the early years (and fans adored them both with the same intensity - Ryan was in no way underappreciated or underrated while he was in the band if that helps). I hate comparing them like that, though. It feels so weird... I miss the days when we could just appreciate both separate guys as talented & flawed individuals. Why do Ryan's strengths need to be held up to Brendon's weaknesses in order to be valid now? This reply isn't necessarily towards you specifically btw. I'm just getting tired of people tearing Brendon down in order to point out why they like Ryan & vice versa. It's like some kind of strange seesaw where people feel like they're automatically raising one side by lowering the other.

Brendon: okay..there we go then I became the singer (Well there’s WAY more to the story than me just suddenly becoming the singer because you *don’t* think you’re a bad singer and you aren’t)

Oh wow, Brendon was always kind of a dick
… except that was literally Ryan’s goal and what he even said he had wanted to do in countless interviews.
