- Welcome back to another episode of Shoe Care Academy! This week we're taking on the highly requested Air Jordan 1 'A Ma Maniere'! For those not familiar with this kick, the 'A Ma Maniére' features a cracked leather upper, making this cleaning very challenging. But have no fear, Baby-Faced Bubbles is here!
Jonny started off as he always does, removing the laces and inserting a shoe tree. RESHOEVN8R shoe trees fit up to size 13 in men’s, and will help you apply additional pressure to the toe box during the cleaning process. Two squirts of solution into our bowl of water and it was time to get bubbly!
*Disclaimer - we recommend keeping water away from materials like cracked leather unless absolutely necessary. This pair was BUSTED, so we had no choice.
So as not to damage the material, Jonny gave the uppers a thorough and even scrub using our soft bristle brush, making sure to draw out those deeper stains with a few ridiculous sound effects. From there is was on to the midsole using the medium brush, and lastly, a stiff bristle scrub for that outsole!
Jonny let the shoe dry for an entire week before comparing the final results (we know it was just so he could let his beard grow in a bit more before getting back on camera). While the shoe turned out great, there were some noticeable differences when comparing it to the deadstock shoe from Many Worlds. Thanks for watching!

good to know, I kind of expected them to be harder to clean because of the cracked leather but seems like as long as you use the right tools you're good to go
Thats usually the case for most shoes. As long as you have the right tools, you can clean almost anything 💪
This is just one of those shoes that’s designed to age like a fine wine. The regular wear gives it more character. I fully believe that was the intention behind the design of this particular sneaker.

@@RESHOEVN8R Hey guys, great video, just wondering if your water/stain repellent sprays are necessary or work on this leather?
Dusting the shoes off with a dry soft bristle brush before you go straight to cleaning them with solution will help a lot. All you’re doing when you go straight to solution is rubbing that dust & dirt into the stitching etc.
They would be just as clean as the brand new pair if you dusted them off with a dry bristle brush first
ESPECIALLY when it comes to Suede or anything of this kind of material that will hold a lot of dust.

I think the used pair after cleaning looks better than the DS pair. With some dirt still trapped in the deep cracks and leather cracking more, the shoe looks dope, almost suede like. Has character.

Hey reshoeve8r team. Any tops on how to fix damages 3M on sneakers. Like ok airmax 97s the 3m scuffs off with wear and tear, any fixes?
Unfortunately, once 3M has been damaged, it cant be repaired.
I think they would've been better if they were suede but tbf the patina of the clean one looks better than dead stock

Yeah, I have a DS personal pair and was scared but now I’m more comfortable wearing because In the end, with the cracked leather, it has an aged look and it looks more aged as you dirty them up and clean em

Those are easy. Just use the soft brush on the entire shoe or wipe them down with a sneaker wipe.

I think you should work on the Jordan 33 next because it is such a Unique shoe and not many people praise Jordan brand for making such a new type of sneaker something they usually don’t do and in my opinion the 33’s aren’t that bad so I think it would be good if you can make a custom of how to clean the shoes ether with I think you would have some fun exploring the Jordan 33 and why it’s so unique to other Jordan shoes

How do you clean the inside of the shoes or is it not supposed to be cleaned?
You can clean them with our soft brush, or you can use our deodorizer which acts as a disinfectant.
The 1s are nice but I’ll take the 3s any day

We don't recommend it. The Water + Stain Repellent is used for suede and nubuck materials.

Does water/rain damage the cracked leather?
This can cause damage after awhile. It would make the cracking in the sneaker more dark.
Early in the month got a stain and told my self I won't attempt until I see y'all do it first.

How would you deal with creasing? I’m not sure if this material would hold up well with the wet towel iron method. My pair came with a dent on one toe 😒
