I am 100% in agreement with you on this topic! Economics, like you mentioned, has a lot to do with it, but I think there is a good argument to also make for social aspects. Specifically, younger adults are having a hard time dating compared to decades ago, and I think that technology, social media, and dating apps have something to do with it
It’s the same in the U.S., unfortunately. Everything you mentioned are factors here too, but I think another factor (at least here) is growing distrust and hatred between men and women. I’m a housewife, and my husband and I are very happy together, but it seems like everyone has something negative to say about it. A lot of men and women these days can’t fathom trusting somebody of the opposite sex. It’s sad.
Financial is one of the root causes but not the only reason. Countries around Jpn are all experiencing serious falling birth rate problem and low wage growth is an important factor but political and economic instability also contributing factors.
