Heart doesn’t have to be in it to be great. It’s a job. Ppl work jobs that best provide for them and their families. He don’t wanna play football now and that’s fine. But we all know NBA isn’t gonna hold for him. If he’d rather go overseas and make a mid salary traveling then great for him.
If he wanna maximize his earning potential then tackle is his ticket. Start as a project and in 5yrs, aside from QB, be one of the highest paid players in the NFL. His athleticism after adding 40/50lbs could have him making way more money in a way shorter timespan from the NFL than he ever would in NBA. Shoo, finish up NFL by 29/30 after 7/8 seasons and a hundred plus Ms. Then go hoop in Behiing or Lithuania for 50k a season lol.

The reason they say he may have a brighter future in football is because of his measurebles. He's 6'9 at 275. DJ appears to have more of a post game which for some reason is not valued in today's NBA. And it doesn't look like this guy has 3 point shooting ability, which is over emphasized in the NBA and would be a potential big factor in determining his longevity in the league. But his measureables would be great for an ideal offensive lineman if he has adequate hand eye coordination and if his basketball footwork could translate to football. And with the need for good and elite offensive linemen increasing as well as the money, its possible he may be able to make more in football vs basketball.
