Do you think that the Sennheiser MKE 400 could work also as a desktop/studio mic when not on the field? I moved from the RODE VideoMicro to the RODE VideoMic NTG, but feels quite bulky and I never figured out a compact/safe way to carry it in a bag because of the shock mount (any tips?). I think the MKE 400 form factor would make me more likely to bring it more often/fearing less to damage it. On the other hand, I guess the main disadvantage of the MKE 400 on a desktop (connected to an amp) would be having to turn it on/off only when in use not to go over the batteries in no time?
I just purchased this MKE400 for my Sony A7C, honestly I'm pretty disappointed with the sound. I have my audio level set to 15 using +DB and LO Pass filter. Did you do any audio correction in post?
@@BushMasterThermal canon 90d. I have a small collection of EF glass, I've had for some yrs. Had an old Rebel that gave up the ghost. Thought, I better pull the trigger on the D90 or I'll have to invest in a whole new mirrorless system. I just didn't want the hassle of selling my EF glass for RF or EF-M. Weight wasn't a big issue, I won't be doing any run and gun vlogging. Mostly tripod some handheld
The train horn is very cinematic 😍
I just got the mic for an easy documentary setup and I love it so much! After seeing your audio test, I'm glad I got the Sennheiser MKE 400!
what batteries do yo use for keeping up? i want to buy the mke200 because I think batteries may be a problem

This has become one of my favourite vlogging mics. Great review. Thanks.
Thanks, I agree!
Fantastic video Jordan, just picked up this mic today. Definitely much better isolation than the Rode
Great video Jordan, Sennheiser seems to be pumping out microphone products as of late!

seems like it is my time to upgrade from my rode video micro to the MKE 400
Great review, thank you! For me, Sennheiser is better than Rode, for all situations
The MKE 400 recording Bouncing sound from your table, can u hear that? 😅just wanted your opinion.
Why doesn't the auto power work with my Panasonic Lumix S5 but it does work with my Lumix FZ2000?

why are you disappointed with the mke400 on your rig? sounds bad?
Don't use low pass filter, set camera audio level down to 1, and use +DB on microphone. Adjust audio level in editing.
Very professional review, many thanks.
Got my mke400 yesterday. Directions are basic so I'll need to play to figure out my camera setting with it
What camera are you using it with?
