    Man OpenSUSE takes me back to my college days because that was the distro that we used for our Linux course. Also RegataOS reminds me of POP_OS because of the gaming laptop graphics card swapping between iGPU and dGPUs depending on the load. Man this might be the distro that I will use as my daily driver. Makes me wonder if it has FlatPak enabled by default or I have to enable it on my own.

    Regatta OS is rock solid for a system that others don't want to use arch base but something similar to it. For what it is capable and works but the issue if something brick its a pain to diagnose and its install is moderate vs Ubuntu and other issues. Smaller crew vs other gaming flavored distros but its design is off tumbleweed so it uses the server branch of suse. Used it for 1/2 a year before i had to switch to something more simple and more automated due to lack of time.

      It would be closer to Arch because it runs the most up to date packages and kernel.

    • @oscs4556
      @oscs4556 2 года назад +1

      OpenSuse tumbleweed is closer to arch because both are rolling releases whereas OpenSuse leap is closer to Ubuntu - they are both fixed releases. Regata os is based on OpenSuse leap with extra repos. OpenSuse is an independent distribution like fedora, and uses its own graphical tools called yast - yet another software tool.

    • @eBuzzCentral
      @eBuzzCentral  2 года назад +4

      OpenSuse across the boad is compared to Arch. Tumblewee is more like a vanilla Arch install and Leap is more like a Manjaro install whereas it has the LTS kernel. I would never compare it to Ubuntu which is Debian based, they are on much older apps and such
