    What about the bump steer from the drag link being longer and not parallel to the track bar

  • @markblandford9346
    @markblandford9346 4 года назад +5

    You never answered Andrew Carr's question below, about bump steer due to the steering geometry getting way out of whack from this install. I'm having to deal with that now.

      @theborg269x 2 года назад

      Bump steer is caused by Trac bar angle as well. Might need a drop bracket or different Trac bar. Also anything over a 3 inch lift should have a longer pitman arm. To keep the drag link at proper angle as well

    How do I know where to install the steering stabilizer bracket at on the drag link? How extended does the stabilizer need to be when the wheels are straight?

    Why is this only listed for a 4.0? I have a 2.5 and the steering should be exactly the same, right?

    will this fit with rims that have a 4" back spacing?

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  5 лет назад

      I looked on the manufacturer's site for you, and was not able to find any restrictions for different size/offset wheels. This kit should fit no problem with wheels that have 4 in. of backspacing. -Zach

    Don’t waste your money. The tie rods blow super easy so fragile. Didn’t even take it off-road and there obliterated my stock grand Cherokee steering held up so much better and didn’t have the terrible bump steer that this kit has , so much play in your steering

    Can I run a dual steering stabilizer with this kit

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  5 лет назад

      As far as I know, this kit will not allow the use of a dual steering stabilizer. Also if you're having wobble issues, this kit alone has a good chance of solving your issues. Many times, wobble or steering shimmy comes from worn out tie-rod ends (which this kit replaces), ball joints, track bar bushings, control arm bushings, worn tie rod ends, etc. Just a heads up, I'd rather you *actually fix* your problem instead of buying a band-aid. 😁 -Zach

      Change your trackbar first, its honestly 90% of all death wobbles.

      Control arms and trackbar. In my experience its control arm issues.
      I got a jeep the trackbar moves 1" back and forth but no Death wobble. Lol

    This system is absolute TRASH. Don't waste you're time nor money. Buy the Iron rock offroad HD otk kit with the 5/8 hardware and never worry about your steering ever again.
