Thanks for this video. I'm really glad my wife didn't see what you did to that sink! As mentioned below, I found that isopropyl alcohol is somewhat effective at getting the ink off of skin. And as a new fountain pen user, using BSB taught me some wonderful lessons that are true for ALL pens. The first is to use gloves for any work involving touching the converter or the nib. Another lesson is to use a syringe for filling converters. Just my two cents.
For pen parts I use a mild bleach/water solution and soak for a few minutes. For hands stained with BSB, I use straight bleach and an old wash cloth. My hands are cleaned in seconds.
Awesome as per usual. BSB is one of my favorites and your video back for the commonwealth pen show made me get someone to pick up one of the noodlers Boston safety pen demonstrator and I recently picked up the blue Boston safety demonstrator. I don’t think many people have two of em. I had someone who needed a permanent ink that was somewhat left hand friendly and ended up mailing a bottle of prime of the commons I bought from you as my best guess along with a rOtring variant .5 for field notes. Seemed like a good idea. Thanks again for your sales in the past. It’s amusing to me ordering things made in the United States and shipped back to the United States.
I believe most of us object to the feathering that is experienced on SOME papers... I found the more posher papers do this and that maybe because of the cotton content as Nathan's permanent inks really strike into their cotton... It works really well on cheap copier office papers...not recycled paper though it was awful on that. Thanks for this post about the ink...Baystate Blue is a really stunning colour... Buying Noodlers stuff from PurePens is the best deal as you can pay stupid money on eBay for example. I'm surely glad to find a proper retailer of Nathan's products, he's a Maestro of the pen obsession. Best wishes to everyone, mind how you go. Rubedo. 💜
Interesting!! Bay State Blue has richer color and still bleach didn't manage to clean it completely, I'll buy it. EDIT: bleach removes it completely after higher concentration, but anyway amazing color.
Well, the colour is one of the best blue inks. I had that ink, but i sold it because it featherd a lot on normal paper. And you cant get it off from the surfaces. Very very beautiful blue color, but the negative aspecs are to much (for me personaly).
Don't be put off trying this incredibly vibrant blue (or any other of the other Noodler's inks available through, e.g., Pure Pens). I've not had any problems with it. I've had worse experience with, for example, Organics Studio Nitrogen Royal Blue.
Don't bother bleaching your hands, it makes them irritated. The best thing I have found to get any ink off of skin is to scrub it hard with the nail brush.
Baystate Blue takes some beating, but other popular colours are Pilot Asa Gao - www.purepens.co.uk/collections/fountain-pen-inks/products/pilot-iroshizuku-fountain-pen-ink-asa-gao-morning-glory and our own Buckingham Blue - www.purepens.co.uk/collections/fountain-pen-inks/products/pure-pens-ink-buckingham-blue
It's refreshing to see a video about hand-washing that isn't about you-know-what. 😉
This ink stained my "stainless" steel sink for a few weeks! Quite impressive.
As someone mentioned already, it can be cleaned from skin by wetting a piece of cotton/tissue with rubbing alcohol and wiping with it
But oh such a glorious colour!

Thank you for another excellent review! My favorite ink of all time!

I might give it a try at some point. Good to see exactly what will happen when I try to wash it off my hands!
I've shopped with you online. Good prices and good experiences. Nice to see a face. 👍

Ordered some from you last week. 👍🏻
The maker recommends Goof-Off brand stain remover for cleaning stubborn Noodler's inks off your hands.

alcohol swabs are goof for getting a good bit of BSB off your hands

Maan It is not the ink on your fingers !! You are really blue alien from Saturnus maan ... I love yor videos ...Thanx 🤣🤣
This ink stains my sink on contact even when diluted but doesn't stain my converter. Feathers loads on Rhodia too.

Nice video. From your point of view, what color blue would you suggest that is vibrant blue, that pops out of the page???? Thanks in advance.
