FINALLY! This game has a special place in my heart as it helped me through some VERY dark times in my life. It makes me genuinely happy to see RCE playing it.

Finally I have been asking for a long time
it looks like the game actually works. when i played it, the frame rate would chug at 5fps most of the time in 2016. it was awful. retail version ,btw, not early access.
@@isturbo1984 i think that was a problem only you had. Ive never heard of that before, but of course I didn't play that long ago.
I love this game, and the sheer luck that RCE spawns next to an XL Landing Platform is amazing, but I immediately flashed back to the Planet Crafter series and his breathing problems there. I foresee a lot of corpse runs in his future.
On my first solo playthrough, one of my planetary bases (on Vesania) was one established right in the base of one such XL Landing platform. I pretty much just shoved all the Medium Windmills I proceeded to find everywhere on the slots at the top.
I also spawned next to one!
I'm pretty sure the XL platform will always be generated close to your landing site.

@@gregoryharris5170 The planets are actually full spheres, so you can dig straight through to the core and then to the other side. Though, there is "stuff" in the middle. It's kinda like one of those cream eggs but not an egg and also aliens.

Crazy to see how much it's changed since I played a few years ago. I remember starting with virtually nothing and having the fun of discovering things as I went.

A Atroneer playthrough would be amazing mate. Please do go explosring to find more power sources and generators to speed up your crafting.
I'm so so happy seeing RCE play Astroneer, I say as I'm playing it right now on my newest end game save. It's such a fun, cute game, near and dear to my heart of being a space nerd. I have about 1.1k hours clocked on steam and I like to replay it so many times, try out new strategies and stuff. Alot has changed over the years so excited for the end of the year expansion. Have a brilliant time, there's lots to discover...
Just wait until he finds out about the working gyrosphere on the platform waiting for him
Fun vehicle that hardly needs effort to find (important early game when you're probably low on resources), very limited on bad terrain (i.e. both moons and Atrox) and in terms of utility (zero inventory space, zero power-sharing ability...)
Also nice in hardcore. I think I found something in my save, when I attached an oxygenator to the pad, it finished the mission that was soft locking it.
Please do a playthrough of this game. Love astroneer!

Fun fact, you can actually find the spaceship from the intro in orbit of the first planet and even reach it by building a tower that's high enough (it doesn't have collision though). May I also suggest building a "bridge" into space (I'm not sure if it can be called a bridge if what it connects to is space) by using the flattening tool and just keep going into one direction until the planet curves away from under you?
I absolutely love this game! I'm near full completion in my own world actually :) Gotta say though, your spawn was incrEDIBLY lucky getting all of those bonus resources and platforms right off the bat! Too bad you haven't used the gyrosphere on that platform yet though, you'll have a blast with it I'm sure XD
It is such a simple game but you can do so many things.
I did the 100% a few months ago, it is fun until you get to the achievement to unluck every gateway🥲. Good luck

You need to plug the power into sockets with working cables (the red things), which don't need to necessarily be lit up as that only indicates that the platform is exposed to power

I love this game! Also, it’s not possible to build up to the other planets, at least, not in my experience. I’ve spent hours and not gotten any closer. You are however able to build up to the original satellite that you spawn from at the beginning of the game. So that’s pretty cool.

The in-universe technology in this game is wild. Like they have instantaneous cloning devices that self-activate the second you die, but somehow never advanced past the old timey deep-sea diver days where you needed a hose to deliver oxygen to your suit....

More of this please! I love this game! I streamed it myself for a few months and got to the end... and then a few months later, there was a huge update, so my "completion" is now far from complete and I still have a ton of stuff to do.
I wasn't certain if keeping your editors it the basement was morally right, but 17:14 convinced me it is fully justified.

I really liked that Astroneer added all the things like quest rewards and the adorable little pets. Because you can just choose not to use them.

Research the research samples you find in ship wrecks and other wrecks in the research table thingy and you will get a lot more bytes instead of scanning

Matt, the platforms that arent labeled as debris are still functional and you can pick them up to add to your base. Itll save you on resources since you got so freaking lucky with your drop location! 🤣🤦🏼♂️

IIRC you can take the small research samples and put them in the Research Chamber too for some more bytes.
Really needed that oxigen tank and the drill upgrade, which makes you want the battery.

If you're moving something and you press F, it'll either put a small item into your backpack _or_ it'll put a medium item in your hands so you're carrying it. Also, as you've discovered, don't dig up Popcoral, they explode when you do.

Don't attach power cells to your backpack or platforms until you need to use them, power comes from them first for some reason.
If you didn't beat it before, I hope you can now. It's a fun game, and now I kind of feel like trying it out to see what's new since 1.0.
