I am having problem with instruction on 4:32. When I try to drop the HEXBIN-X and Y on row and column
I dont see the drop field box. So, I am unable to change the aggregate.

these are absolutely wonderful. i work with data from african and asian countries. i tried using lat/long for capitals but it wasn't looking much like a map. is there a way to create a hexbin chart for Africa?

Nice, I have long/lat (automatically generated), how can I use them for the calculation? Cheers

Hi Daniel, the automatically generated latitude and longitude are not available to be used in calculated fields. There is currently an idea submitted to make this available, why not add your vote: community.tableau.com/ideas/6158. In the meantime, I would suggest to geocode your data (plenty of sites available on the internet) to obtain the latitude and longitude as fields within your datasource.

I get the initial Hexagons but when I drag something to color the shape changes to a square .I am using a MAC...can u please tell me how to correct this?

Hi Pujeetha, you should be able to simply change the shape back to a hexagon. You should also watch out not to remove a dimension (or measure) already placed into the visualisation as this will affect the visualisation.

I too am having the issue of the Hex being forced to a square when I add a measure for colour. Although I don't know exactly what is going on (yet), it is clearly to do with how I am generating my hex.png (exported from Illustrator). When I use a downloaded .png it works fine.
      I grabbed one from Kevin Taylor's 2017 post www.tableau.com/about/blog/2017/1/viz-whiz-hex-tile-maps-64713

Finally, love the channel SuperDataScience! Great content.

Hi Aradhana, while dragging the dimension to colour, remember to hold down Ctrl if you are dragging it from the _Shape_ tab

I get that you posted this a year ago, but for anyone else watching this video I found the shape at pngbox.blogspot.com/2013/07/geometrical-shapes-transparent.html
