In other words, true prophets know some things, but not everything. It seems to me that God gives 1 or more pieces of His jigsaw puzzle to 1 or more prophets. The prophet doesn't necessarily know the full meaning of the piece(s) that they receive. When I try to determine God's truth, I take this approach: 1. I assume my starting position is true, then search for Biblical truth that supports that position. 2. I assume the starting position is false, then search for Biblical truth that supports that assumption. 3. I then check that Case 1 or Case 2 do not create internal discrepancies with all the rest of the Bible. 4. I compare the two Cases so as to determine which is the better explanation.
