- Ahead of a planned joint Open Day (with Clearwell and Perrygrove) on Sunday 8th June 2014, LBLR members recovered a tipper wagon from the depths of Clearwell Caves. There was only one problem - the cableway is not used regularly! This also shows our Wingrove & Rogers battery loco in use for the first time on RUclips.
This "tipper wagon" here in the US is called a side dump ore tram in mines. Also there are
end dump trams as well. I know, used to be a hand trammer in a gold mine in the early 60's in Southern Idaho
I'd feel very confident riding one of those carts if it was being driven by yer man in the green shirt. He's got EXACTLY the kind of beard you'd expect for an old-timey minecart operator.
Old mines have wonderful masonry inside
That boy in the grey trousers and black coat is my cousin
Interessante esta micro ferrovia. Rio RJ Brasil
how many years did this operate as a mine before becoming a museum?
Please see the website:

Off and on (mainly off) for 100 years.
Thank you for update
Interesting. Is there a web site where one can learn more about these railways??
+Ken Bird Sorry, I'm not aware of any dedicated sites. It's very much a niche interest and of course outside places like India and China such inclines have almost totally disappeared. Technically Clearwell is a working museum but this incline is rarely used.
