Quire a refreshing looking car, affordable, practical and sensibly laid out, the roof bars are simplicity clever, as cool as tech in high end cars is, it's refreshing to see basic instrument cluster, touch screen is purely for radio and not other controls, and shaped like a practical box, nice to see these basic cars along with the fancy high tech cars
Great review, glad l found you. I was born not very far away from where they manufacture Dacia. Actually my early years of driving were on a Dacia 1300 /Renault 10. They were very good cars, low maintenance, easy to fix, nice ride. I guess we were lucky with these ones. I recently saw a Dacia Jogger in Barcelona Automovil International Salon, put myself on the wheel and l like it. For a family with low budget, come on, it quite good. Thanks for your review! Greetings from Barcelona! 👍👋
I like what they've done with the Jogger. they've left headroom for a tuned lowered UHP tyre sporting version. they could call it the Runner! I do hope this gives the established marques something to think about cos simple, cheap family transport is something to to praised, not derided.
Hi there, This is not their first 7 seat model. They used to sell "Lodgy" for quite a while. I have 2019 model of the Lodgy and it does not look like they`ve changed much. Face and rear look a bit different, but overall feel remains unchanged. I like the dials for the AC controls etc, mine are old-style. The only real thing i see that`s new and really useful is the roof bar thing, that`s REALLY nice. The other thing is prices have sure skyrocketed, I bought our Diesel with Navi and rear sensors and camera for 31000 BGN (which is roughly 13k LBP). And I really can say that the diesel engine performs much better, especially if you put in 5 adults and 2 kids inside and have to travel uphill :) The 1.5 DCI 115hp is beautiful (aside from the fact that it takes three and a half million years to get hot enough to have decent heating in the winter), gives really decent economy for the size of the car (4-5L/100km out and around 6-6.5L in the city where you have to sit a lot in the traffic jams).
Both Dacia Logan 1 and Dacia Logan 2 have MCV versions with 7 seats. The 3rd generation of Dacia Logan don't have an estate or MCV version. Dacia Jogger replaces the Logan estate and the Lodgy and maybe Dokker in the future. Because i don't se why they would not make a Jogger van.
Great review! I'm interested to see the bi fuel auto version. I fear it will be quite a while yet so I've gone duster bi fuel in the meantime. I'm quite happy they include the seats as it just pushes the price or gives an excuse to charge extra. I'd use them once in a blue moon and seem light enough to store under my stairs or in the loft. Thr roof bars are a great addition to what seems a good value average car. All for a basic price. They have stuffed in just the bits you need and nothing more, very impressed.
The fact that this car is "average" in so many respects whilst simultaneously costing about two thirds of what it's average contemporaries cost effectively makes it an outstanding car. Nice review. Thanks.
I really like your reviews, they are thorough, and well structured, without complaints about things that would be impossible for a particular type of car.
In the words of the dealer that dealt with me, it was rated a 1 star because of a lack of passive safety systems, stuff that people turn off anyways. And NCAP don't do average scores now, they score on the lowest test, so even if everything is 5 star, all it takes is for a 1 star test, and that is its final result.
they really don't test jogger. They take the sandero note and cut a star because the third seat row don have belt seat warning. But i don't know, third row must be taken out easy and to be light.
@@ovidiut3940 I know, the sandero scored low as well because of not having any safety tech apart from AEB. The car itself is still decent on occupant safety. Thing is as well, the Jogger is 200kg heavier, that's not something to dismiss really, and should be tested accordingly.
I reckon this would be a great workhorse, and fairly reliable and practical. Nice machine. You're definitely not a curcan, because you don't whine on about perceived quality and soft plastics.
A small correction. FIRST 7-seater Dacia in UK and some other countries, but they did have a LODGY model that was 7seater for ages in other parts of Europe. Even the Lodgy stepway.
Great review as always, chuckle time north of £18k too. Thanks for sharing. There is always a market for such a reasonably priced car in these torrid times. I saw an Audi ICE for £100k in a sales room yesterday and I’m thinking WT*. Roll on the time when an ubiquitous EV that the average Joe/Josephine can buy without farting noises is clocking in at around £20K. 🚘
You say the ride is a bit firm, well not anywhere near as firm / bad as my awful old 2.2 Jag. I really loved the test drive of the new Jogger and found it both comfortable to drive and with a surprising amount of spritely performance for such a small engine. I was so impressed at what you get for the money and have ordered an Extreme SE which hopefully will be arriving by the end of November.
I have just ordered the extreme se too as I have 7 dogs and just want a large practical car which is high enough for me to get in and out of and low for the old dogs. Pity it's not a 5 seat but I can take the back 2 out. 6mth wait 😢
I’m sure it’s lovely to have really nice fast and/or luxurious cars, but in todays traffic and with todays prices - it’s hard to argue against such good value, especially if like the vast majority all you do is take kids out 1-2 days a week locally, do shopping commute to work. When I was a kid we had a Vauxhall viva 1256 with a mono tape recorder on the front shelf. It was crap, awful slow and unreliable- by comparison this is a Roller.
Rob you're spot on. Given that the price of everything is going up at the moment, I'd struggle to justify buying anything else if I was spending my own money ona. new car. I wouldn't need anything more. I know some people like fancy brands and badges, and that's cool. But otherwise? Jogger it.
I had the 1159cc 'Extra Performance' Viva! It had a one fifty Stromberg on a fairly hairy inlet manifold and would out pull an 1100GT Escort. It didn't have a radio!
On our second Dacia, they are great. However I do have two points to make about the Jogger. If you put isofix child seats in the two outer seats in the middle row, you can't get into the two back seats. There are curtain airbags for side protection for front and middle row passengers, but no curtain airbags protecting the two rear seats.
I’m so sad they don’t sell more Dacias in Norway. The only Dacia you’d find here is the Duster. And you’d be really lucky to find one too, they’re unfortuneatly not that popular for whatever reason. When i went to sweden just a few months ago, these along with other Dacias were EVERYWHERE. They seem like good cars, i’d buy a sandero or duster. They both do the trick and are more than adequate for the driving i do. Great review
To be honest. There's just 3 things I would change. I wish they'd offer the 5 seat version in the UK. More boot space, slightly cheaper to buy and insure and no seats cluttering up the house, slightly lighter so better on fuel. I want a big boot, I never take rear seat passengers. 7 seat is a pain for me. Family cars need to be available as an automatic. I'd like a more economical engine - like a diesel. Although this engine is hardly thirsty.
Why would you want a dirty diesel, when there is a bi-fuel version that runs on LPG. EDIT: oh no, Dacia! A Bi-fuel engine in every model except the Jogger 🤦🏼♂️
Those fancy movable roof rail/bars look good but for us we have a large soft bag that goes on the roof (on a non-slip mat) and then is strapped to both the front/back bars and the side rails. Not sure this would work if you used the built-in bars as you’d have no Side rails to strap anything to so probably only good if you use a hard roof box that sits on them. Does look a good car though - considering one as we have a Logan Stepway as our family car and it’s a great workhorse.
Great review. How is it when loaded, havnt see any reviewers test that ? Beyond that id just wonder about sound when going 100km/h+ and not on perfect new tarmac ? Some seem say it's noisy but thats relative. I've a Kia 2012 eco and we can barely talk or hear radio on noisy asfalt.

Anyhoo, I've just ordered a bottom of the range one, which by the time you get it including tax, some petrol and whatever else is £16034!!! I don't give a large rodent's bottom about technical stuff, (I'd be happy to drive about in an Austin Maxi if I could get a good one) but I did surprise the salesman by taking the back seats out to see if I can lay down in the back. Yes I can. Just. I'm 5'9" and I have to be diagonal. Feel free to ask me how I get on with it later, October I hope. :-)
I’m looking forward to car camping in mine. Not bothering with the sleep pack. Just a camping mattress and my sleeping bag and I’ll be sorted. Luxury compared with my bivvy bag!
A great, affordable car - in terms of economy there is no difficulty in getting over 50 mpg on motorway runs. Thank goodness it does NOT have any horrible lane diversion gizmos, well worth conceding an NCAP safety point to get rid of that, nor does it need radar cruise control in my opinion. No seatbelt warning on the 3rd row apparently cost them another NCAP point so in reality it is not bad at all. As a 7 seater though the insurance companies are going to load the premium a little to cope with the number of potential payouts in the event of an accident. Isofix on the front passenger seat or the rearmost seats would have been useful, as would a fold-flat front passenger seat but currently there is nothing else to come close to the Jogger at an affordable price.
Your new introduction was very professional Tim 🤓 Fancy edits and time stamps too! However, you failed to warn viewers of the nonsense! Is that just a given though? Literally 😀

Good review but x7 people - the weight sitting on a French platform with a 1.0. Id say body control induced float and bounce feature. Fine for a city I guess.
I do not understand why the roof rails, when in cross position, are so close to each other. I want to transport seakayak and this is unusable. If they were further away from each other, it would be fine.
I'm glad it doesn't have to much renault electrics it was always a point I wouldn't buy a Renault the electrics always packed in like those old Megane's I have witnessed people who couldn't get their electric sunroof to close.
Only 2 isofix positions... So this means that basically if you carry two children in theirs seats, you turn this 7 seater Jogger into a 4 seater Jogger, as no other person can get in the third row seats or between the two child seats on the second row.
There's more space in between two child seats in the Jogger than in most cars, but you have to get in before fitting the child seat into its base. It's doable, but not ideal... and to be fair not many cars have 3 Isofix points in the 2nd row (Peugeot 5008 does)
Car of the year is a marketing lie. They do not tell you that if you need warranty repairs, there will be no warranty service for your Jogger !!!! How could Jogger be the car of the year as it has no real warranty?! You buy it with warranty on paper only! If you need service that is not possible. And the reason is very simple - local vendor does not have spare parts to fix your brand new car! Why ? Because Dacia is not sending them spare parts. What Dacia literally do is to sell us cars and not cover their RMA repairs ! Enjoy the car of the year !!!!! Think of yourself as an VIP person that has bought so special and so unique car that you have to wait for many months for any repair parts !!!!!
No passive safety systems or stupid things like warning lights for the 3rd row seat safety belt,NCAP now is more about computer assisted safety systems,in fact at the crash test is better than cars with better ratings.

Claustrophobia on 4 wheels. Doesn't even have room to armrest both front seat passangers in a supposed family car. Maybe it's a family car for smurfs who are not in a rush, and can live with an equally tiny engine. Schizophrenic roofline says it all. "Clever roof racks" only work in two preset positions...

shame theres no iron blue colour for the xtreme se
yo that's a HUGE cow! :o
You missed the heated seats 😉
I'm glad it doesn't have to much renault electrics it was always a point I wouldn't buy a Renault the electrics always packed in like those old Megane's I have witnessed people who couldn't get their electric sunroof to close.
Problemele electrice la Renault s-au cam rezolvat de vreo 15 ani în urmă
07:40, so with two ISO-FIX baby seats you can't get into third row of seats
Very good point
I bet the cow is wondering if it fits in the back with all the seats down.
Hahaha, I think you're right
This is the perfect car. Maybe a diesel whit 150 hp would be great
Nobody ever talks about driver legroom. It looks a bit cramped.
si cat dureaza pana o livreaza 1-2 10 ani ?
te-ai trezit vorbind.
Hard to tell if this review helps to make any decision, i only look at cars like this because I have a family greater than 5.
How can this car be ‘Car of the Year’ with a one star NCAP rating?
Only 2 isofix positions... So this means that basically if you carry two children in theirs seats, you turn this 7 seater Jogger into a 4 seater Jogger, as no other person can get in the third row seats or between the two child seats on the second row.
There's more space in between two child seats in the Jogger than in most cars, but you have to get in before fitting the child seat into its base. It's doable, but not ideal... and to be fair not many cars have 3 Isofix points in the 2nd row (Peugeot 5008 does)
You can use the seatbelt to install the chairs for children ..just saying...
Take the middle seats off and use only the back seats...
Curcan for turkey, roughly pronounced coorkan 😅
Performance obviously will be less when loaded...
Curcan!
Decent
No cruise control in Jogger. Just speed limiter...
It does have cruise control
Turkey is "curcan" :)
Good value yes but would I put my children in a 1 star car no buy a secondhand 5 star
Its 2 star at 2022 means its 4-5stars in 5-6y older car. Its safe
curcan
potato = cartof, like car and tofu)
NCAP RATING ONTHE JOGGER 1 STAR says it all really
Yeah, I saw that this morning. I did predict it…
Це не jogger а logan mсv 2 покоління
What are your comments to the poor safety?
Only 1 star at the NCAP rating!
No passive safety systems or stupid things like warning lights for the 3rd row seat safety belt,NCAP now is more about computer assisted safety systems,in fact at the crash test is better than cars with better ratings.
Turkey -> Curcan
mulțumesc!
but one star on the NCAP safety ratings though.. safer to chuck you kids out of a 3rd floor window...
No passive safety systems or stupid things like warning lights for the 3rd row seat safety belt,NCAP now is more about computer assisted safety systems,in fact at the crash test is better than cars with better ratings, those cars getting better ratings overall because they have systems like lane assist, the car literally lost 1 star because 3rd row seat does not have a light warning for the belt.
Watch the video mate..
Pop some batteries in it...
Turkey = Curcan
Mulțumesc!
All going so well until you hummed the theme tune from The Archers. Unsubscribing.
Understandable. Sorry to see you go. For what it's worth, I've never ever listened to the programme… but constantly have the theme tune in my head.
@@TimRodieDrivesStuff I just had an awkward realisation: I know that the Sunday theme tune is played on some sort of an accordion, but the rest-of-week tunes are not. 15-all then.
A thin cow from the Bible, creepy.
ruclips.net/video/DvC0uGf7BQo/видео.html not a safety car
Morocco made Dacia, full with flaws and non functional parts, in case of damage or minor collision owner is left alone because no parts for this very badly made of a car.
A which DON'T BUY due to it's pathetic 1 NCAP star...the lowest in the western market..it's a death trap.

Define deathtrap? It is safe for passengers apparently, according to the reviewer who explains why the score is low.
Watch the video mate..
How can people even be interested in this crap? Really? 4 speaker 🔊? , 3cyl , 1 liter ? C'mon... Ist crap and it's extremely expensive for what it offers. Oh God! Apple's Lossless must sound amazing on 4 speakers, thanks for Carplay
Curcan?
Great review! Thanks!
