I'm sorry, but I have to critique your video because I believe it's important to provide accurate information to your viewers.
I agree with you that 'Everything' is nice software. However, the following is where I disagree with you:
Early on, you state that "unfortunately, Windows Search is a bit of a resource hog...(etc)." Then you state that a lot of people disable this, which means that "you won't have any sort of search feature on your Windows based system...(etc.)." Neither of these things are true. On my Windows 10 64-bit system, this service is using 9.1 MB of memory and 0% CPU resources at idle and while searching. While searching, Windows Explorer maxes out at about 4 MB/sec on my hard drive. Try it. Disable the 'Windows Search' Service, then do a search. It will still work.
If you disable the 'Windows Search' Service, you are actually disabling the 'Microsoft Windows Search Indexer' - which is what appears if you bring up the 'Task Manager' window. This does not stop or prevent you from performing searches in Windows.
What actually happens when you disable the 'Windows Search' Service is that it disables search indexing. It also has the affect of breaking Sysmain (Windows Prefetch) - so if you still have a mechanical hard drive it's important to leave both the 'Sysmain' and 'Windows Search' services running. If you have an SSD, you should disable 'Sysmain' and leave the 'Windows Search' Service running.
      Take care.

I've had lingering Adobe files that just never seemed to go away. I swear they must reinstall themselves... Anyway, there were so many files uncovered by this program. Thanks for putting out this video, if not, I may have never came across such a useful program. Also, I appreciate you doing the walkthrough and instructing to turn off indexing, and then disable windows search.

That’s terrific. The usefulness of windows search caved years ago and is frustrating to use. It fails to find things and then generate results that just have the same individual letters as those in your search and then kindly highlights hundreds of results in yellow for you to search through manually 😫. -What a waste of time. I look forward to having a sensible file search facility once again. Long live XP😂

Brian, my question concerns the power button. I have open shell and the menu is; switch user, log off, lock, sleep, hibernate, restart, and shut down. In the Windows System menu there are 3 choices, best power efficiency, balanced, and best performance. In the Control Panel there are 2 settings, turn off display, and put the computer to sleep and there options within these 2 settings. The Windows 11 Pro default setting for both is 5 minutes. My Dell XPS 8960 that I bought new in February has 5 external hard drives and some of these kept shutting on and off causing a continual beeping sound from my TV and a clicking sound inside the PC. Also, on the left hand side panel, some of the hard drives kept disappearing and reappearing. I had to unplug a hard drive then plug it back in to show up. The PC has a 1 TB SSD C drive and a 2TB HDD D drive and the D drive is locked but I don't use it, all my data is on the 5 external hard drives. The PC also has an i9 processor and 64GB of RAM.
Regarding the sleep mode, with the Windows setting of 5 minutes for turn off display and put the computer to sleep, does it do exactly that?

    Replace Windows 11 with :
    -Aero Glass theme
    -Default context menu
-Migrate all the control panel options to Windows settings
-Allowing users to reduce the preinstalled bloatware
-Fix the whole UI animation and transition
-Always-always ask the user permission first before installing any update (which means disable the automatic update)
-Replace the start menu Recommendations with something else, maybe just allowing us to use it as pinned apps
-Makes the Taskbar movable (right, left, top)
    -Small icons on Taskbar
-Makes Copilot just an option, if the user want it, install it, if the user don't want it, windows should not put it on my system...

I use the Alpha version. It's been stable, has better features and has Dark Mode. (UPDATE: never used the "Toolbar" version. Will try it.)
    *Windows Search*
It won't actually do anything much of the time if I simply type something in. I found out I sometimes have to DELETE the last character and for whatever reason it "wakes up" and searches. Like if I type in "bananas" it might display nothing (even if I hit "ENTER" after), but then I delete the "s" it suddenly searches... and if I type stuff I have to WAIT to finish or it screws up. For example if I type in "NOT *.jpg" it gets confused unless I wait after the "NOT" because I guess it's busy with that demanding task. And that's for a small folder with 50 images.

Hmmm, windows search is more than that because it indexes the content of each file. In other words, if you want to find a document containing a keyword you're searching for, Windows Search can do it. That's why the initial indexing takes so long. You can't compare Everything to this one. There are other free search programs that index file content, such as Docfetcher, for example. I use Everything only to quickly search for a file by name. It's not much compared to Windows Search, it's like a toy gun.

@@HonuManHi - But recently, Microsoft has been on a path to stop anybody from using third party apps that replace the Microsoft nonsense like them screwing up the taskbar (almost NO customization) and making strange decisions like making common menu items hidden behind a second click (you need a second click for Cut and Paste!). Microsoft is becoming like Apple... You do it their way or not at all.
