This episode has always stuck with me. I just find that whole rustic ice fishing shed opening up revealing an opulent little dining room, along with the food prepared there to be the absolutely most baller shit I’ve ever seen.
As a Canadian who has never had the opportunity to go to Quebec, I find it really surprising that an American like Anthony Bourdain has educated me on the finer parts of it; this episode was so fascinating to watch and I'm like why has no one in Canada brought out the best of what we have
Anytime Bourdain Is In Montreal Visiting Fred Moran And Dave McMillian And The Legendary Martin Picard I Will Always Watch RIP Tony Bourdain Your Influence On Me As A Cook Will Never Die
Every chef who has been on 'Munchies' may want to consider the table etiquette mentioned in this episode. No grandstanding over cheap beer or how much cursing one can dish out over deep fried brussel sprouts happening here.
these french food hipsters are trying too hard to make an impression. a simple traditional fish fry would've been much more interesting and culturally authentic.
If this doesn't interest you, then you're not their target audience. Macmillan & Fred just do shit they way they like. They sell the food they enjoy and if someone doesn't like it, well, they don't have to eat there.
I love this scene ....and I bitterly regret his passing ...
Agree, his passing is still painful and I never ever met him though I felt I sorta knew him.
One of the greatest Bourdain moments ever!

@@smellypatel5272 lolol
I'm here with you cultured brothers and sisters.
This scene, along with the lunch scene from Twister, have lived rent free in my head since I've watched it for the first time.

Simply one of favourite episodes of all time....talk about living..... I agree with comment before mine....miss him so much
My favorite scene ever from the show. 🙏🏻
Love this episode Miss Anthony Bourdain, these guys are great with him!!!!
2023 -- Tony is dead, and Fred and Dave are both sober. Sean Brock from the Charleston episode is also sober now.

The ultimate juxtaposition of rustic and refined.
Yes it’s pretentious but it’s sort of the point. Opulence and delicacies. It’s a gorgeous meal
Pretentious is moron for worthwhile.
Some people will call anything nice pretentious
If you really pay attention, it's a very rich, flavor wise, meal.
my favorite scene from parts unknown. this is the way.
one of a kind. i miss you Tony
I am laughing and crying.
This is my favorite episode

This is the scene that inspired me to learn fine dining.
It's rare. But every so often I eat as well as any billionaire or tyrant in the world.
It’s civilized.
It’s lit 🔥

Sorry but I can imagine these guys in Salo.
🤣 true
Did they cook the fish lol
Nope it was probably a fun tv stunt as my French is fluent and poisson wasn’t mentioned.

Yet he chews with his mouth open. Ruins it for me.
Marlynne K but at least he doesn't put his elbows on the table.
Again, horrible audio
French Canadian food is only ok. It’s just too cold for the food to be good. It’s better than Scandinavian.
yup.
Hell no best meal in Nord america
you're not making sense, we have some of the richest food in the world, don't hate.
The heavy guy is a little too pretentious.
No, just proud...and a great friend of Tony.
He's awesome.
If you look at him in any other videos you can see he's really not. He's just playing a part here. Being pretentious was kind of the point.
Twat
So much for humbleness.. These 2 guys need to eat some crow to cut the snobbish attitude. As for Tony B. RIP sir.
these french food hipsters are trying too hard to make an impression. a simple traditional fish fry would've been much more interesting and culturally authentic.
this is not your typical gordon ramsay food escapade for all the family and L.A. hipsters, those are real chef with Bourdain who's a real food critic.
they are Québécois, not French. Look at the cabin
