Beautiful home. Reminds me of M.G.M. movie with Judy Garland, Meet Me in St Louis. Those homes were big cause. The grandparents lived there from both sets of parents. Life was so much free then.

UrbanEye, this is your Best ever. Mansion is Gorgeous, Gorgeous.. Makes me wish I was rich instead of struggling & so old.. Mansion would be Perfect Bed & Breakfast again...
This is a beautiful home with a lot of history. The house still has many original features, the windows are stunning as is the woodwork. Hopefully someone will continue on with the restoration and bring it back to life! Good choice on the music.
Absolutely gorgeous. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed when I saw the staircase. The rest of the house is so grand (inside and out), but the entry hall and staircase don't match that grandeur.
@@unclebubba1872 I was thinking the same thing. Was that where they separated the house into 2? Looks like the wall cuts off the door next to the stairs.
Beautiful house, with so many large rooms and gorgeous windows. I like the unusual "Dutch" roof lines. As expected, bathrooms and kitchen need total guts, and will hopefully be redone with period appropriate cabinets and fixtures. It definitely has a lot of potential. Thank you for including a bit more about the history.
Once a grand home, location is dreadful, I live here and there is no longer high class, just high taxes and high people, nothing but poor management or good local government. Lots of money needed to restore in an unsafe town, sad but true
I'm so glad you restored this house. 👏🏻 God bless you.🙏🏻 I just hate to see homes built in the 1700s and 1800s go to pot. This country needs to preserve not destroy our historical buildings. Those houses are better made than the ones that we live in nowadays. I hope this house is on the National Registry of Historical Homes. It's an absolutely gorgeous house that will provide a loving family with a wonderful home. ❤😊
It would be a good idea for you to tell your audience where these houses in your videos are located. Maybe even put a link to a property website which would tell your audience the cost. You never know. It may help get them purchased and saved.
In most cases I don't give locations so to protect the owner and the property, this house I gave the name and it can be looked up if the property is still up for sale. Vagrants and those who like to vandalize don't care, if they can get into these places they will strip, steal and trash it. I am an Urban Explorer, I am not in real estate I photograph and share the history of these amazing places so that their stories won't be forgotten. Thank you for watching and for your comments.
Beauiful wood floors and window frames and doors lovely looking house nice big rooms hope a nice family move in and the house won't be to expensive to rent or buy
Such history! Absolutely stunning home and with some work this certainly would stand out, and can just see some great dinner parties and lovely times for any family that should take the time to make this home what it is meant to be like. Such a grt frame and begining. I would imagine the roof is good? That and foundation is important. The plumbing and electric i would imagine is good too? The doors are really wonderful and the wood of oak( much of it) and it just is crying to be brought back! Think firelplaces work and safe? Not sure if they are leaving the fixtures, like chandilears and furniture that is there? Not sure of price though, guess not shown? Must need to ask later.
Have seen very few of these beautiful homes in their original state …..needs some fixing. What historical significance it has!!!! It should be fixed to its original state and made permanent a museum as it is part of American history…the registration of historical places should buy this and restore it!
I live in Galesburg I've been in the house. It definitely needs a purchaser that can afford to restore it. It's a beautiful house but just sad the way it's been let go.
I'm super curious, is the restoration needed mostly cosmetic or does it still need some real structural/functional type work? It looks like it's mostly ok at this point other than some floors and appliances
@@fallonalexander2865 I've only been in the house one time. I did not look in the Attic or the basement. I believe that there are some areas in the outside where the would pillars need replaced. Of course it definitely needs repainted. I have no idea about the roof. As far as the inside what you mentioned definitely does need redone but I don't know if I mentioned this before or if it does in the information on the house but it is split into. Years ago in the 1940s two sisters purchased it when they got married and had kids they still both live next door to each other and split it in half. Changing the stairs and build walls for privacy. As far as the furnace electrical and water I have no idea. The gentleman that purchased it has only been there I think like two or three years. When I went to go take a tour of the home It costs $5 and that was shortly after he purchased it I did not know that it was him taking photographs but I said to a friend before we entered the house this house needs somebody that is really ready to invest in it. The gentleman that was taking the photos the owner of the house turned around and kind of gave me a sorry but can't help being truthful. Thank you
I've made comments about this house before because I live in Galesburg at this time the home is pending evidently the people that are in the process of purchasing it is also purchasing a home next door to it that home had been totally restored and is on the market for 1.5 million. So evidently if these people that purchased that house will purchase this house they have got money to put into it and that's exactly what it needs. I wish them the best.
Unless it’s a wonderful location, it’s neither worth the cost of renovation or able to pay for itself as a B&B. People don’t stay in bad neighborhoods.
Also, doesn't tell you where it is. I presume Springfield or Washington but I bailed. Can't stand being strung along by video makers who won't provide basic info in the title and description. If i'm just not seeing it, I'll take the hit and apologize.
It will take a metric crap ton of money to bring this place back. It's not exactly in a high income area either. Someone might buy it for the property, but it's not worth restoring as a private residence. The only way I see this place surviving is for some historical preservation group to take it over.
