As a validation engineer it was great to hear about how serious they take it for making these switches. I know I'm late to the party but this was a good detour from your usual content as your popular enough to get granted this access!
Perhaps it's for an order that's going to France or a French speaking country, on behalf of the German government? There's a ton of cooperation between various EU governments and all their subcontractors.
This is exactly why i have so much faith in Cherry MX switches over something like Kaihl. Not to say that Kaihl is bad by any means but im pretty sure those chinese made switches are not made with the same amount of obsession to detail as their German counterpart.
+TechNation Yep,it may cost more to get a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX switches, but is worth it compared to the others. But it does seem like they have some competition when it comes to the Gatore switches,a lot of people praise this once over the Kaihl and Cherry MX,manly(according to these people)because they use a softer plastic (for the housing)that makes their switches sound and feel more pleasant than the Cherry and especially the Kaihl ones.
Kailh switches do not "suck". Please do some research before you make comments like that. Kailh's BOX switch lineup is far superior to Cherry's scratchy, rattly switches.
A few years later kailh and gateron surpass doggy shit cherry MX switches. Good to know we can actually get smooth mechanical switches for a good price. (Not counting switches like zealios. Sakurios, tealios, etc those are godlike lubed)

+LowWithKnowhow 350mph would be like 400-500 km/h and most cars are limited to 250mph 300-400 km/h
*****
Yep, and I was just pointing things, bu there are cars capable of speeds near of 350mph the bugatti veyron for example.
+Jeremy974 350 MPH is like 550+ KPH...
+Top Doge CSGO Yeah I was quite near and also far...
+Jeremy 970 the Bugatti Veyron doesn't get anywhere close to 350. No road legal cars do.
MORE please, this is awesome... still waiting on the Sennheiser Tour though...
Linus I know you're Canadian and it's more acceptable there... But every time I see you in socks with sandals it makes me want to cry
It's really not more acceptable here. Linus just doesn't care.
Trust me , it's not acceptable in Canada.
I'm pretty sure he does it purely because it is so shunned.
***** I'm German (Baverian) and you don't wear it like that, you wear shoes that are made of leather and the the socks Linus had on top.
*****
Nothing, people who cringe at that no less fools than bible preachers. If its not fashianble enought how come Prada did this? (www.telegraph.co.uk/men/fashion-and-style/10813088/Socks-and-sandals-summers-unlikely-style-trend.html) I rest my case.
The German government must be the only public organization to use decent keyboards.
Back to another "Why is this in my recommendation?" But i still watched it.
*No Keyboards were harmed in the making of this video.*
It's funny because for us in Germany, its normal that companies make many tests with their products before shipping. And for you Canadians it is something "special".
many companies in america don't at all
Could have fooled me with BMW
Tibbles unless all BMW's are made in germany i doubt its that surprising :P
Asuna Yuuki Well he did say German companies lol
he said "us germans", so i can presume he clearly meant "in germany" not "any german country regardless of where they are or if they even have german employees"
I just want to make clear that Noone seriously No one wears Dirndls or leather stuff at normal days. Only at the big "Oktoberfest" nomal people wear these. Go to Berlin Hor Hamburg noone will wear this!
This is like i would say that every American walks around half naked and with an LMG over his shoulder while he is eating an 2kg Hamburger
But that is what every American is like.
"I have an idea, let's start the video with Linus using his phone while driving!"
"Hmm... Yeah, that sounds fine."
You wear lederhosen only in Bayern. Its just one state.
Yes, this type of video is awesome. I would love to see more like it.
Wer Deutscher ist bitte liken xD
Nein.
Auch ich weigere mich!
Da muss ich erst die Verwaltung um eine Genehmigung beten.
Nein, ich komme aus Österreich.
Vergiss es
I'm interested in seeing more like this. Do whatever doesn't cost you viewers though.
I would like to see a Intel vs AMD factory tour
one of the main facorys for amd chips (at least for the older Phenom / FX) is globalfoundries, which is based in Dresden, Germany, the same city where I live
amd doesn't make their own silicon its outsourced
Sidney Lavoie amd isn't good enough to have a factory, they work in a garage
ninjawil543 but at least they dont use pigeon poop on their dies.
Nine's And AK's roasted xd
This is awesome! Makes me glad to be a Mech KB owner!!!!!
You should really get one, it's amazing :)
Oh I have a QuickFire Rapid TKL with Browns. I love it.
Germany switches > razer switches
I saw an ad with Linus in it before the actual video....
me too, what's up with that?
i skipped it so i didn't see much
+The Galactic Void you can choose to put custom ads in front of your videos
+Holy Crap It was an ad, not a 3 second clip....
The Galactic Void I know, like the one with the yellow bar. you can do that
Germany engineering... perfect isn't enough....xD
And this is why you do not buy "razer" keyswitches.
Yes, I would LOVE more of these videos! It really makes me appreciate the hardware I purchase.. even though my Blackwidow Ultimate doesn't use Cherry MX switches, it doesn't let me appreciate it more still all the same.
More factory tours D:
ALL THE FACTORY TOURS PLEASE KTHX D:
Props to Linus for knowing how to drive a manual transmission.
What about a tour to the marketing department of Corsair, just to know the genius who "designed" the corsair "gaming" logo
Just sayign :P
As a validation engineer it was great to hear about how serious they take it for making these switches. I've worked with German's in the micro electronics and medical device industries and can vouch for their attention to detail and quality! I know I'm late to the party but this was a good detour from your usual content as your popular enough to get granted this access!
11:34 i wonder why the "special order for the german goverment" gets the azerty layout lasered on ..?
+manscho Well spotted. Is the qwerty setup universal?
+Baz Irvine azerty is for the french language; we use qwertz in Germany
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layout
manscho Thank you.
Perhaps it's for an order that's going to France or a French speaking country, on behalf of the German government? There's a ton of cooperation between various EU governments and all their subcontractors.
Maybe some German embassy in a French-speaking country.
7:39 osu! 200bpm stream
Man - holding a phone and driving... tut.. tut.. tut..
+tcpnetworks In one episode of scrapyardwars Linus got pulled over xD
Where's the MATH button on my windows 95?
3rd from the middle to the left from the Tilda key
Di di di di di! DID YOU REALLY WEAR SANDALS AND SOCKS! Oh man i hate you so much right now xD
But that factory is just AWESOME :O
He usually always does. So do I.
Triple H shoobies
from you're pic are you like 9!? MadMax7000 lol
Thats made with Faceq... and i am *doesnt tell his age* years old
Are you fucking new??? That's Linus's trademark look, he always sports the sandals and socks. Let him be, it's not killing you in any way.
9:12 the way Linus snug in there and got thrown out xD
And people wonder why they should buy mechanical keyboards :)
"German lederhosen" - laughing hard. Sry Linus, that's not a real lederhosen! ;-)
would love to see the behind the scenes stuff, makes you appreciate the amount of work behind the hardware we take for granted.
What this is just 1 hour away from me and Luke and Linus were there?? I need to get there :D
I wouldn't expect anything less than the best from german engineering
After five years I get recommended this. Like, my dad used to work at Cherry in Auerbach...
Cherry doesn't need a $50,000 piece of sound recording machinery to demonstrate that MX Blues sound like crap
even outemu blues sound so much better
This is exactly why i have so much faith in Cherry MX switches over something like Kaihl. Not to say that Kaihl is bad by any means but im pretty sure those chinese made switches are not made with the same amount of obsession to detail as their German counterpart.
+TechNation Yep,it may cost more to get a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX switches, but is worth it compared to the others. But it does seem like they have some competition when it comes to the Gatore switches,a lot of people praise this once over the Kaihl and Cherry MX,manly(according to these people)because they use a softer plastic (for the housing)that makes their switches sound and feel more pleasant than the Cherry and especially the Kaihl ones.
youre not wrong Kaihl switches sucks
Jan Ethan S.Salas Well I have Kaihl blue switches and they are great, Not sure why you dislike them though.
I was kind of surprised that they didn't outsource these manufacturing things to China?
Maybe that's the main reason why "Cherry MX keys" still is a thing. Outsource it to china and you just gave all your secrets away.
i dunno, companies usually care more about profit. maybe there's some sort of legal protection that's why some companies do get to make factories in China
***** BMW's aren't quality.
Ibraheem Productions JDM all the way!!!!
Ibraheem Productions lmfao theres more definitions to JDM you think we put JDM decals on our rides to say japanese domestic market? Pfftt oookkaayy!
2:00 Man getting inside an oven like enclosure in Germany..
Not a good decision
wearing lederhosen as a non-german is like blackface
You guys are not a freaking race of people..... it's nowhere near that man it's just clothing that's like telling me because i'm not black i cant wear air Jordans
Liquid Squid Why do you assume he's/she's German?
OverallScrub Cause i can the person is making a statement for the German people so i put two together maybe the person is maybe its not IDK man
Liquid Squid Dude its like dressing up in Gucci and Jordans to go downtown, it makes you look like an idiot.
Austin Gorniak well i dont think linus was dressing like that for style if i want to dress like you said i would get some weird looks but hey people do it
Who's watching this in 2019 and cringing at the intro sequence
2020 and it hurt me
its a blast from the past
