Adding a waistband was a great idea! The thought of seamripping my dresses stresses me out haha but seeing you do it confidently makes me feel better about it! A great idea for nice thrift finds :)

I'm unable to stand and iron, so I have two layers of Terry cloth towels on my sewing table (formica--I think wood would likely need more protection) and iron there. Thanks for the great ideas. I've not seen the waistband one before.
What would you do , say for a PIN STRIPPED Strait SKIRT that is too short? There is a matching Blazer. Would u do a Lace, or ? It will need at least 4 inchs, maybe 6 ? It is Navy Blue with tiny Pink strips ? I would appreciate any suggestions !
Maybe you could add a rectangle of little pleats to it. Annika Victoria has a video on how to make a piano dress. She thrifted a black pencil sheath dress and added white and black knife pleats to it. You could also check out her video on how to lengthen a dress. She does something similar.
