we just got our berkey. it comes with a blue rubber attachment for priming. Bumbelbee did not mention or show anything like that in your video for priming. also it comes with e red dye for testing. how important is it to do that? thanks.
Just a couple of corrections per the official Berkey instructions: 1) Black filters should be primed a full 1 minute 2) on the white filters, they come now with a screw in extender making it much easier to prime along with the blue “balloon” that attaches to the faucet. 3) the white filters should be filled initially when priming, removed from the faucet, shaken vigorously for 1 minute and then reattached and primed for a full 2-3 minutes. I just wanted to make sure that everyone adequately primes all the filters. The video is good, but not enough time is spent priming. I do thank the author for promoting this fine product! 😀
how many threads do you usually find are still exposed of the black filter, once the 8 revolutions of the white filter have been done?... seems quite loose... maybe 5 threads remaining when I did it?
Helpful video. Wasn't sure whether the fluoride flyer gets attached to the bottom of the tank or to the black filter. Also, the 8 turns no more with the fluoride filter was new for me .
My wife ordered a new set of Berkey filters from an offbrand (from China) and the instructions were so vague and incomplete I was confused. I'm so glad I watched your videos because the "instructions" never mentioned the rubber priming grommet. Thanks!
Can you put the washer on the inside underneath the black Berkey not on the outside I had to do it all over you did not do it correct please look at the official website
I never know wether the black washer goes on the inside of the upper chamber or the outside - on the side of the lower chamber next to the plastic nut. Help!
be sure to give the new black filters a good scrub before priming I find that it will unclog pores for easier priming and longer water flow until the next scrub and wash
probably a dumb question, but the instructions say no more than 8 revolutions to put on the fluoride filter. Both installations videos I've watched were 8 twists, not full revolutions. So which is correct?
I really liked your video the best out of all of the ones that I watched yours was straight simple to the point no fussing around him and I went back to yours over and over again after I saw the others thank you so much in your kitchen is cute
I ordered new chlorine and black filters but didn’t change them out til now,so they were sitting for maybe 6-12 months. Water not dripping through black filters. I’ve changed them before no issues at least twice plus the original setup. I reprimed both types of filters 3 times and only one black filter is now working. Any advice? I tried warm water too, not hot but warm. I don’t know if this is an issue because I waited so long to change out but these are hella expensive and I don’t want to have to ask for replacement nor can I afford right now.
That's interesting, I haven't had this happen. I would contact the Berkey company and see what they recommend. I don't believe letting the filters sit before installing would cause any problems.
I had my original black last many years. I did clean them with scouring pads. Then charge them again. How did the "not charging" filter issue come out ?
Thanks for a great video! It was helpful for me in knowing how to install the white filters. You may find the Medical Medium info interesting if you haven't already heard of him. I follow his lifestyle. ;) 💖
I like the Berkey filters but I don't like the price. I can get a Chinese metal body at like a quarter of the price. If you want you can buy the name brand filters but otherwise you can get the whole thing for like a quarter of the price
What are the price ranges for these models? An interesting thing to incorporate into a future video would be to do a before and after quality test on the water to see levels of various minerals and undesired metals.

Thank you 🎉
thank you for these added details!
Best Berkey demo ever for changing the filters. I will be referring to it again this weekend when I change out our filters. Thank you!
Awesome, thank you!

I think your kitchen looks just fine. Great video. I love my Berkey water filters
Thank you so much :)
Awww this is the first video I've seen of yours and your kitchen is so sweet but the blessing of a new kitchen is coming.
🙏🏿❤️😇❤️🙏🏻
Thank you!
Don’t worry about your kitchen, I send you a big hug!
Aw thank you!!
Very helpful!! We are waiting on our delivery and this explains how to ad the fluoride filters so well! Thank You!
Your kitchen is cute! And I like your stand for the filter too
Thankyou so much!
I think your kitchen is just adorable! Thank you for your demonstration.
Thanks so much! 😊
Thank you for the helpful video. For some reason, my white filters are not letting any water through them. Please advise, thank you

I appreciate you taking time to make this video. The directions that it came with had me confused ❤
Thank you so much!
Does it matter what end the white filters screw in? Each end works.
As far as refilling, do you need to wait to refill top part of berkey until bottom is empty?
Can you put the washer on the inside underneath the black Berkey not on the outside I had to do it all over you did not do it correct please look at the official website
I failed the red dye test and put the washer in the upper chamber and passed the test!!!
i had issues with water not going through the white filters!
Same! I’m not understanding what I did. I did exactly what every RUclips person said.
Thank you so much we couldn’t figure out where the arsenic filters went but your video was right on
Do you use the anti airlock clip?
I never know wether the black washer goes on the inside of the upper chamber or the outside - on the side of the lower chamber next to the plastic nut. Help!
Excellent demo Marissa, you did an awesome job🙂

Thanks for sharing! :)
Excellent demonstration! You should be doing the installation instructions for the company!!
Do you put tap water in it?
Where are you getting your replacement filters
My only faucet is a sprayer and the prime doesn't work. How do i do it
Why is there sediment or grit in the bottom of my Berkey water filter?
Thank you the best video I’ve viewed for my Berkey.
Aren’t the washers supposed to go inside the Berkey?
Correct
Excellent job/video breaking it out properly! Awesome job! Huge thanks!
Your kitchen is fine! Thank you!
Thanks for this "how to," very helpful!

I'd go with 8 revolutions.
Very helpful Thank you
Thank you! Very helpful! 😀
Do you take the spigot off every time that you clean it? The plastic ones are pretty fragile so I would rather avoid damaging it.
I don't, and haven't had an issue, but it might be a good idea!

Wait the white filters add fluoride???
This was so helpful! Thank you
I'm glad to hear it!
Thank you 💕
Since you said you cook with Berkey filtered water, if you boil pasta, do you boil in berkey filtered water only?
Yes I do :)
@@bumblebeeapothecary It probably was a dumb question since pasta would absorb a lot of water. Thank you for your reply . :)
This demo helped me so much. Thank you! :)
You can also soak them in sink water for 30 minutes you will see bubbles come out wail till it stops
8 rotations on my fluoride filters and they are still lose😬

You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful :)
It says replace the black filters every 6 months. Anyone know?
Yes, that's what we do!
I love my Berkey too!! Thank you for sharing this!!!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching :)
Great instructions thank you👍
You're welcome! :)
Wow! We have 4 filters installed and they didn't even last a year. Failed the red dye test after 10 months.
Berkey suggest replacing the black filters every 11 years I'm curious why you replaced him every three
This was great!! Thanks!!
I love my Berkey too but my filters are clay(I thought). Now I better go check! LOL
Thanks for your videos, you do them well!
Thank you so much!
The white filters filter out way more than just fluoride. They are valuable for filtering a large variety of contaminants.
Thanks for sharing!
@@bumblebeeapothecary how often you replace fluoride filters. every year? also what size is your berkey royal?
Have you tested your water before and after it has been filtered 😉
Only with my nose and mouth, and I can for SURE tell a difference that way :)
@@bumblebeeapothecary I will take a sample of my tap water then filtered send it of for analysis to see what has happened 👍

They range in price from $249 - $690. Great video idea, thank you!
Quality Demo
Thanks!
How come my water isn’t good…?
There can be many reasons! Lots of city water has fluoride and chlorine added to it.
I've had a couple black filters that had a defect where the bottom plastic part glue had come apart. Might have been a lemon from the factory.
I watched a video saying if you maintain and wash your black berkey filters every 6-12 months (depending on usage) it can last up to 11 years? ruclips.net/video/AFwUODYLn1E/видео.html&ab_channel=BerkeyWaterfiltersUK%2FEU
Are you kidding me? So for four years, I’ve been doing it wrong. I have the black filters in the top and the white fluoride filters in the bottom.
You should resize your wood stand, and it’s like wasted space and you can fill your berkey easier :}
Here you go! bumblebeeapothecary.com/diy-remineralizing-toothpaste/
World's tiniest kitchen. And Berkey site says white filters cannot be cleaned.
Great tutorial. Thank you.
