Great review. I purchased everything except the co-wash. I used the scalp cleanser, shampoo, treatment mask, primer, gel and curl potion (only on one section). It was not giving (the gel was not tacky enough and did not give me the hold I wanted). So I used my regular products to finish my hair. We do our hair once a week over here. I need hold all week. The following week I tried all the wash products again (love them). This time because I saw on Instagram that someone asked her if you could use the curl pudding on a wash and go and she said yes. I decided to try that. I used the primer/leave in, the curl pudding (added a plastic cap) then got out of the shower. I then added my favorite gel Tropical Oasis from Miche Beauty. The combination was amazing!! Curls were moisturized, shiny, bouncy and coily. I think the treatment mask really does the job because the elasticity is on point. My ends are COILY!! I got no flakes and on day 4 I decided to stretch my curls ‘cause like I said they were really coily. The shrinkage is real. After stretching my curls they were so pretty, still bouncy and soft, but still with holding power. I had to go somewhere and I wore my T-Shirt, (Hair Type - Poppin’). Everyone agreed. 😂 As the humidity is bad is Florida where I live my hair shrunk right back up but was not puffy. It’s safe to say I will do this again. My mom tried the gel and curl potion, it worked great for her. She gets to keep those and nothing goes to waste.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the products! I may go ahead and try the curl pudding with one of the gels that I know work for me because as you saw in the video, this gel just didn't have enough hold. I really do love that it wasn't sticky though! I also love that the products didn't leave residue on my hands. I've been meaning to try that Miche gel too, just haven't gotten around to it. Their products are so good! I love their deep conditioners. Again, thank you for your comment. I'm going to try some of the tweaks you used.
I’m so glad you enjoyed this video! Thank you you for watching it 🫶🏾. I’m looking forward to using the smoothing pudding and I hope it gives me a bit more moisture.
Gorgeous hair. Loved your video. I’ve used the products already and you should try the curl primer and the gel by itself had my curls popping. I wasn’t a fan of the potion
- Great review! I personally loved her first collection, smell and all. I purchased her twist out bundle from the new line and the products are good, but I still prefer the first line more. 💜💜
I'm so happy that the first one worked well for you! I think the products overall worked okay for me, but I just couldn't get with the smell. These ones I can see myself using pretty often for various styles. I'm excited to try the smoothing pudding! What are some of the differences you noticed in the two? Or why do you like the first one more?
@@ItsTayia Thank you so much! Yeah a lot of people didn’t like the smell of her first collection. Some thought it smelled like men’s cologne. I’m glad you like her new collection more and the smell is more manageable for you as well. I tried the smoothing pudding for my twist out and it was pretty good. I loved her first collection so much, I honestly don’t think it needed to be changed at all. But the differences for me is the consistency, I think the products are a lot thinner and of course the smell just isn’t there for me anymore. I’ve only used my products once so far, so my opinion could change with time. The first collection was top tier for me. ✨✨
@@junecat1597 Right! I really wish she kept the first collection, but the new collection is nice as well, and the deep conditioner is still amazing this go around. 💜💜
Hi there. Thanks for the video. Especially the gel feedback. I like a stronger hold. Your hair is very beautiful. Hope you don’t mind some feedback…. Your hair length looked very uneven after it dried. Your right side was much longer than your left. That is because your left side was already dry by the time you finish putting the products on. If you split your hair in 4 and work on the back and then go back and forth applying products inn the front it will dry more evenly. Also you won’t experience so much shrinkage if you stop using the brush. You have a beautiful curl pattern, you don’t need the brush it’s only creating shrinkage ❤
Thank you for advice. There are different methods I use to style my hair. Using a brush is one of many. I also don’t mind shrinkage. The left side of my hair appears longer no matter what I do because I have a looser curl pattern on that side. It’s visible in all of my videos no matter the product or method that I use. It’s less noticeable under certain circumstances, but I’m aware of how that section of hair behaves. Again, I appreciate your advice and I have no intention of coming off as snarky (I know intention can be lost in translation via text, so yeah, just wanted to make sure it was received well). I appreciate your support and feedback!
@@ItsTayia hey there. No no no. You aren’t coming off any type of way. We are having a conversation. All be it text, but still just a conversation. You seem very much like me. I’m not easily offended and unless someone is blatantly disrespectful I assume it’s good intention. Thanks for responding. I really did enjoy the video. I’m a fan of Mo knows hair but haven’t tried any of the new products. So I’ll given them a try. Keep being you friend 👍🏽👏🏽❤️
Great review! I agree with most of this. I have scalp psoriasis and I have to wash my hair every 3-4 days and these products have held up well. I’m in NY and the humidity is wild. I tried a few options and just using the prime spray and gel for a wash n go and using my flexible hooded dryer instead of diffusing worked the best. I agree styling potion/gel for a twist out would be my preferred use.
I’m so happy these products have worked well for you. I can definitely see how they’re the beneficial for various scalp conditions. Especially because the scalp clarifier is so gentle. I’m going to give the spray and gel a try on its own and see how it works for me. Maybe it was the combination of potion/gel that was too soft but if I just use the gel it may give a bit of a firmer hold.
@@ItsTayia yea I thought a soft hold + medium hold = strong hold and it was not 😂 that combo was great for twist out but I need something strong like the miche jelly.
@@naturalcurls4life576 it’s did. I took a break from the chlobetasol shampoo and used it with a scalp brush to lift the flakes and it was nice. After my wash day I was flake free. I find that washing/cowashing every 3-4 days is a must to keep the itching to a minimum.
I know you said, the hold is light. However, your curls still look defined and looks great to me. I understand we all have a preference. Your is so pretty in my opinion.
Thank you 😊. I agree that curls looked really nice! I’ve gotten a couple of suggestions on how to make the hold a bit stronger so I’m going to give it another go.
Looking at you to the right looks better than the left. Other than that I don’t really see a big difference when you use others. I remember her first line and you are right scent was a gag but I don’t see much difference to make me run to them again. Thanks for the honest review.
Yeah, I agree. Idk what's going on with my hair right now. I can't quite pinpoint when the left side started to hang so low. I'm working on fixing that though. Might be time for a professional trim. But yeah, compared to my other wash and go products, while these were okay. I likely wouldn't run to get the styling products since I already have things that work for that purpose. When I run out of deep conditioner and shampoo though, these are definitely on my buy list. Thank you for watching!
@@ItsTayia your hair is gorgeous 😊. It’s just interesting how some products make our hair go one way and another. I think 🤔 trims help yes but one side is going to be different. I have that with mine the left is always longer than the right and the back is always lower and a middle is shorter. No mater what trims I get. I even shaved it all low to regrow it out and it went back to the same way. 🤣 it’s genetics for sure.
I brought the twist out bundle along with tge scalp clarify.. my scalp became a lil itchy too after about 4 days.. the definition was really good but the roots of my hair was also puffy. My hair didn’t last longer than 4-5 days. The hold was very light. I am used to putting a gel on my twist out.. this bundle doesn’t come with a gel product.. As far as flaking I encountered the same as you. Thanks for the honest review!
Thank you for watching and sharing your experience! Yeah, I think if there was something that would help restore balance to the scalp, I would use the scalp clarifier more often. It REALLY does what it says lol. I'm not mad it though because if it didn't then I would be mad lol. I think the products are accurately described as having a medium or soft hold. I wonder if she plans on coming out with a strong hold gel. I would love to try it!
I ordered the scalp cleanser, shampoo, mask, primer, and gel. My order should arrive within the next week! How did your hair feel after styling and 100% dry? I could definitely see the flexible hold in your curls and they looked soft but defined not sticky or tacky.
@@iwilson3950 it had a soft/medium hold. Not crunchy at all. These products weren’t sticky at all which was great! I know some gels/products leave that weird residue on your hands while styling and these ones did not. I definitely think they work well, but I prefer a crunchier hold lol. Give me an update when you get your products please. I want to know what you think about them 🫶🏾
@@ItsTayiaYes! You described my concern perfectly; a weird, sticky residue. And usually I find that residue to be in products with glycerin. That’s what had me concerned about this collection because I saw glycerin in the ingredients list, pretty high up. But I will be sure to come back with feedback.🥰
