I like playing spoon instead of band with bottom lane build, this takes good advantage of the big damages Blastoise has for a defender. At teamfights I usually engage when there is at least 3 people grouped with surf/unite + eject if necessary, then hpump. You make a lot of damages, those guaranteed with your big CCs, this almost kill the squishies, your team just have to clean the rest

Another spin spout item set is guard/spoon/specs. Guard gives more consistent bulk than focus band but a little worse in a one-off teamfight at ray. I can play around that so i think it’s definitely better overall

When i play with water spout/rapid spin, it deals between 100-200 damage, i still die in seconds, not durable at all

I prefer resonant guard now over band
And in surf and pump usually i use spoon muscle and resonant
But when i trust my team or i have a lane partner in magikarp or a mon who can really use the exp i use exp share i dont if i have i dont trust my team which i lately i am getting good lobbies so i use exp share

I play exp share, leftovers, focus band, and potion. He becomes unkillable. He's my main defender. I was in the top 700 rank in the world as a solo q player. Currently at 1700 ranked. Having 3 sources of healing is absolutely busted. If you happen to get regice you become immortal. It takes at least 3 people minimum to take me out. I've had games where all 5 pushed me, and my team had enough time to clean them all up.

leftovers is garbage. stop using it.

@tannerdns9048 you don't know what you are talking about. You are just repeating what someone else told you. I was top 700 solo Q and currently at 1700 end of season. Trust me when I say it isn't the item. It's the player. Just say you don't know how to use it. It'll make learning it much easier if you humble yourself. I can critique his video but I won't because I understand people play very differently. You should open your mind to new ideas instead of repeating what you've heard.

@@closeenough1343having leftovers over guard is kinda troll tbh also having potion is fine but eject on Blastoise unite is so good I just wouldn’t give it up

@yrneh755 I've watched even pros waste a battle item with eject. Eject JUST for blastoise unite is an absolute waste. I don't care if people use it but in my opinion it's a waste. If you need ejact for his unite, chances are you shouldn't have united to begin with. Leftovers is for surf/pump with a more intentional playstyle. You aren't brawling, you are setting up picks and peeling for squishy attackers. Being able to also trade poke damage is another huge advantage of having it. Personally, I find guard too random to use. I like guard, but it's just too random for me personally. Yes I know about the timer, I just don't like the fact that it can be easily baited out by poke damage. It usually doesn't do much for me. Where leftovers has become a staple for my defenders. I don't need berries, I can safely trade damage, I can also be quicker to a fight and don't have to recall either. It has many many advantages over guard. But I understand if guard is your preference.

@@closeenough1343eject button sets up for incredible plays with unite and both pump and surf it’s just in no way a waste of a slot imo. Also the unite move is a bit telegraphed if you don’t have eject button so people can escape a lot of times without it
