I think it's fine with just one score because the majority of the cars you review are premium and luxury cars, so both the materials and built quality should well looked after. If you are open to review cheaper cars I would prefer two separate scores, just to be fair with them. Either way is fine for me, tho, love the content anyway
It seems the legacy parts from the 70's and 80's are solid and the modern additions are creaky. A wierd combination of everything that made old Mercedes so good and everything that makes modern Mercedes so disappointing.
Some good suggestions write themselves. I like the “materials” / “sounds” break-down. One score for each. Have you done a Dodge Viper? There are 3 gens. I heard the first was deplorable. .
It's not "new versus old" in the case of the door handles, every interior trim touch point is rationalized down to the very least they can get away with.
only 6 ? u are lame :D that car is perfect, i would bet with anyone that no squicks in day to day basis. the interesting thing that some cars are super solid when 0 km, no squicks but after 10 years the squicks appear and they are worse that an old merc that has those squicks from begining. i guess the plastic is much more better build on mercedes than other cars just because of that reason. i have very bad roads and my w203 holds very well. it squicks because ive made some changes and broken some plastics but they did not went to horible like other cars. bad roads it still sound ok compared with many other cars from same year
I would say separate the scores. This way the trim level doesn't affect the final score for example. Or cheaper cars don't start with a disadvantage.

Well build quality I think includes both, I think combining speaks and materials is good. Just 1 score

I’ve driven in that model, horrible. It’s literally the equivalent of putting a Versace dress on a pig. I hear the new model drives better.
This is a poser car and its solid image is not proven in the field. Toyota Landcruiser is a solid vehicle proven the world over. This ?? 😂😂😂
