When you have a chance for yourself, watch the original video of this song. It's smokin', sexy, and hot! (I understand you could only use the live version here.)
The guy is shaking a sort of "Maraca" also called "Tamaraca" or "Rumba shaker" or "Chac-Chac" (= refering to the sound it makes) it is a sort of rattle originally filled with sand...but modern ones like that are usually filled with tiny metal-balls
women go kooky, fixating on lyrics; while we men, take in a much more general impression of a tune; and that is, so goofy and anal. on this one, men win.
Great vid.. but id love for you to react to the original.. Its like the poster-boy for a men underwear commercial..lol ruclips.net/video/dlJew-Dw87I/видео.html
Mr. brown Thank you my friend . Thank you for the encouragement and that goes the same for you . I wish more people could conduct themselves like you over the internet .
Chris Isaak is fabulous. I've seen him live. He was amazing. So talented ( and easy on the eyes for the ladies too). You might want to also hear Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing, Somebody's Cryin', etc etc... and he did a fantastic cover of Neil Diamond's Solitary Man.
The perfect song. The music is calm but the message heat breaking. It's one of those songs that draws you in at the start and just keeps you there. It's done that to me the first time I heard it to the last
Some people it makes their clothes fall off for some at the moment this came out back then their was tragic things that was happening and this song was a typical reminder of it
I love how you are able to feel the emotions in a song. I can see the empathy in your expressions, and you let the music touch your soul. Great review, India!
Wavy is right. The first I ever heard of Chris Isaak was vacationing in Santa Cruz, California when I was a sophomore in high school and he was an unknown playing the local clubs there. If you like the sound of this song, you might also like Roy Orbison, "Only the Lonely", "Crying", "In Dreams"...
I'm noticing that in your depictions of these videos you follow the story lines more than the quality and sound of the music, but WHAT YOUR DOING IS REALLY AWESOME...VERY AWESOME!!! THANKYOU!
Chris Isaak has such an ethereal voice! I like the fact that you don't react just to the music, but mainly to the meaning and emotion of the song. There are so many things to find and react to in any one song. A friend of mine changed my way of listening to music. Instead of hearing just the female vocals, he helped me to hear the strings, the horns, the drums and percussion, etc. Now when I listen to anything I don't just say that I love the vocals. I find myself saying, Oooh, nice cello they have there...
I like the way you actually listen properly to the lyrics on your vids, many dont and its not always easy. You'r clearly open to an emotional attachment to the stories. Thanks for that lovely smile you always have too.
One of my all time favourite songs ❤ Have seen Chris Isaak live a couple of times and met him briefly backstage, lovely old-school southern gentleman ❤❤
The sound is reverb, I think it’s called “drip”...was pretty popular in some surf music in the 60’s.... As far as this song, I prefer the video/studio version that had the original lead guitarist. This song, Blue Hotel, & Kings of the Highway are my fave Chris Isaak songs. He deserves more credit than he’s gotten by far. His cover of Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling in Love” is uncanny!
It doesn't matter what the lyrics say, Women loved this for Chris Isaak's voice. You don't have to intentionally be wicked for someone who is obsessed to feel tortured.
Not sure the year this was released but it had little impact at the time. If I remember correctly, the song was "rediscovered" at some point and became a hit. Chris Isaak's career got a big jump and he sang the song on many talk/variety type shows. It is a beautiful, melancholy ode to love gone wrong with vocals and instrumentals equally matched. A perfect masterpiece. Thanks so much for your reaction India and a belated Happy Birthday to you!
@@1newbert No, Wild at Heart, which Lynch made at about the same time as Twin Peaks was going on. But Isaak then played a major role in the Twin Peaks movie.
*In Shakespeare's days it was called "unrequited love" or love unreturned.* This man is in deep, and in these days lingo, this is a "panty dropper" song. One of the best super sexy songs ever written and performed. Smooooth! Lol*
The male band members were singing "This world is only going to break your heart." I think that the object of his affection may not even know how he feels about her so that's why he calls it "wicked game" because he doesn't like being manipulated and being out of control and so he sings "No, I don't wanna fall in love with you.". And at the end he sings "Nobody loves no one."
He's done some acting, too. I remember he played on "Twin Peaks: Fire, Walk with me" along with Keifer Sutherland. I think he did others, but can't remember.
Great song! Chris Isaak always reminded me a little of Elvis. The moody and beautiful black-and-white music video for this song with supermodel Helena Christensen and him frolicking on the beach was sexy. It was filmed by famous fashion photographer Herb Ritts, who also shot beautiful black-and-white music videos for Janet Jackson ("Love Will Never Do Without You" ... Janet has never looked so stunning!!!) and Madonna ("Cherish") frolicking on beaches, too.
You should watch the music video and add that reaction to this video and re-upload, (since the music video probably be blocked). The actual video to this could be the sexiest music video ever filmed!
Wicked Game" is a tale of obsessive love. Chris Isaak spoke to us about the late-night event which inspired the song: "This one I wrote really late at night and it was written in a short time, because I remember that a girl had called me and said, 'I want to come over and talk to you,' and 'talk' was a euphemism.
I always enjoyed Chris Isaak this song always struck me as a man who fell in love and is now haunted by the memory, that's why the guitars sound so mellow and haunting. He is forever changed by unrequited love realizes he was played and is now haunted by the memory, and his own foolishness. The background vocals are like that little voice in his head reminding him His heart is broken. It's like all we need now is Wine Ice Cream and Chocolate. We all got played at some point or another in our lives..this song reminds us..sometimes guys get played too.
I remember when this came out. Chris Isaak was more of a country singer but this crossed over for him. His voice made all the women's panties all steamy. He can hit those high notes, "No I-I-I-I don't want to fall in love with YOU..." He almost yodels during this song.
Not everyone who reacts to this song picks up on what is going on. You did perfectly. As people have pointed out, the original video to the studio track of this song is indeed legendary. I do love this live version as well though. So well done.

James Wormington-Absolutely!Helena Christianson and Chris are a gorgeous pair in this video.A drool bib is a must while watching it.😛
No. This one is the best.
MTV names it their sexiest video. I agree.
The European version is the really hot one.
I remember waiting all day to listen to this on the radio when I was a teen.. Always loved this song
This is such a sweet and haunting song ......
It's very Twin Peaks.
For a live performance, the sound engineering and overall performance is top notch. Every detail in each individual sound is seemless

Could you react to Mazzy Starr, Fade Into you and/or Into Dust? Gracias!
Great song
Fade into you is a beautiful song and Hope has such a unique voice as well.

Just one of Chris's best songs...it's a song Roy Orbison could do...

Oh yes!
Must be his best song- great choice! Twisted emotions are so relateable to almost everybody.

Ahaha 😁its true
Chris Isaak is a fantastic vocalist and songwriter. His voice is as smooth as butter & his falsetto is just otherworldly.
This song (and Chris) make my clothes fall off. LOL
LOL! I wouldn't go that far, but I could have a "bromance" with Chris. I miss the TV series that he had.

Hilarious

You took the words right out of my mouth....
I love this song, smooth & dark.... a lady that’s a tease yup!
I've loved Chris Isaak since I was 14. His blue eyes and his voice, swoon.

Ya I enjoyed watching it touch her souls and show through her face. 💞
Now there's a singer that worships Roy Orbison's voice.
The first couple of times I heard this, I thought it was a previously unreleased Roy Orbison song.
I used to speculate that his mama happened to get a backstage pass to a Roy Orbinson concert about 9 months before he was born.
Oh girl!!! You GOTTA watch this video!!!! 👍😁❤️

I second this. I've always felt Roy Orbison was terribly underrated/overlooked.
In Dreams is another lonely one by Orbison.
Also, 'Anything you want(you've got it)' by the late great Roy Orbison
Hauntingly beautiful songs...
