The guy is shaking a sort of "Maraca" also called "Tamaraca" or "Rumba shaker" or "Chac-Chac" (= refering to the sound it makes) it is a sort of rattle originally filled with sand...but modern ones like that are usually filled with tiny metal-balls

women go kooky, fixating on lyrics; while we men, take in a much more general impression of a tune; and that is, so goofy and anal. on this one, men win.

Chris Isaak has such an ethereal voice! I like the fact that you don't react just to the music, but mainly to the meaning and emotion of the song. There are so many things to find and react to in any one song. A friend of mine changed my way of listening to music. Instead of hearing just the female vocals, he helped me to hear the strings, the horns, the drums and percussion, etc. Now when I listen to anything I don't just say that I love the vocals. I find myself saying, Oooh, nice cello they have there...

Not sure the year this was released but it had little impact at the time. If I remember correctly, the song was "rediscovered" at some point and became a hit. Chris Isaak's career got a big jump and he sang the song on many talk/variety type shows. It is a beautiful, melancholy ode to love gone wrong with vocals and instrumentals equally matched. A perfect masterpiece. Thanks so much for your reaction India and a belated Happy Birthday to you!

The male band members were singing "This world is only going to break your heart." I think that the object of his affection may not even know how he feels about her so that's why he calls it "wicked game" because he doesn't like being manipulated and being out of control and so he sings "No, I don't wanna fall in love with you.". And at the end he sings "Nobody loves no one."

Great song! Chris Isaak always reminded me a little of Elvis. The moody and beautiful black-and-white music video for this song with supermodel Helena Christensen and him frolicking on the beach was sexy. It was filmed by famous fashion photographer Herb Ritts, who also shot beautiful black-and-white music videos for Janet Jackson ("Love Will Never Do Without You" ... Janet has never looked so stunning!!!) and Madonna ("Cherish") frolicking on beaches, too.

Wicked Game" is a tale of obsessive love. Chris Isaak spoke to us about the late-night event which inspired the song: "This one I wrote really late at night and it was written in a short time, because I remember that a girl had called me and said, 'I want to come over and talk to you,' and 'talk' was a euphemism.

He is forever changed by unrequited love realizes he was played and is now haunted by the memory, and his own foolishness. The background vocals are like that little voice in his head reminding him His heart is broken. It's like all we need now is Wine Ice Cream and Chocolate. We all got played at some point or another in our lives..this song reminds us..sometimes guys get played too.

I lived this song years before it was heard as I am certain many others have. She was a good friend, so I witnessed first-hand the trail of men she left in her wake. She didn’t just need to get them she had to own their souls. A stunning creature able to dismantle any man with the skill of a surgeon. When she turned her talents towards me, I knew exactly how this would turn out so I fought for my life knowing I would have no one to blame but myself. I failed. She was a force of nature and I have never been the same since, just another corpse on the battlefield of love. The lyrics, music and performance are an artistic expression that speaks to many victims of their own forbidden dreams.

Прекрасное исполнение! И Диана прекрасно исполняет эту песню. Оба достойны признания на высочайшем уровне.

This is the only song of his I've ever heard. For that reason, I've always thought of him as just another one-hit-wonder. He must have a loyal fan base though, because he seems to draw big crowds.

He's kinda like Prince in the sense that he has his hands in a whole bunch of songs and artists you never know about. His music is quite unique and spans a lot of genres. He also has some successful albums and indeed does have a very loyal fanbase when he tours. My dad loves him.

I have seen him in concert four fabulous times. Best live act I have ever seen is Chris and the Silvertones. He is the only person I have ever seen who comes out in the audience. Great show to see.

I seen him live, he was so funny in between songs.
He said he used to be a boxer, but got tired of being hit!

I've seen him in concert twice and met him at one of his shows. Nice guy.. Absolutely amazing show he performed.. He used to be a boxer for a short time. Before he went to be a singer. He was in 2movies.. Silence of the lambs and that thing you do.. He was the priest an uncle to one of the actors in the movie..
