Imagine the scale of the Public Goods we could deliver for our food producers on their farms through working together in schemes such as this. A select few Farmer Clusters and Nature Recovery projects with other individuals are doing something similar but we need to adopt this at scale and at pace as farmers are tending to feel ignored and left out of the conversations. Farmers are part of the solution and in the meantime while they are not supported or trusted to do the right thing, they face financial ruin thanks to flooded crops and landholdings.

Rivers were never meant to be straight & disconnected from their floodplains. Very good that this has been done as we are losing insects, butterflies & moths at an alarming rate.
It is near end of June 2024 & no swifts or swallows where I live in the south of England.

If you drive through the countryside these days, there are hardly any old farm buildings that have not been converted to some sort of accommodation, the swallows have very few places left to nest.
