      Or the highest dps that keeps dying. Lol. A little lower and surviving does more than someone that needs to be revived all the time.

    So glad that my guild leader is so nice, he doesn’t give away free golds tho, just never gets angry when someone causes a wipe, he just laughs it off and tell you very carefully how to do it so next time there won’t be any wipes

      No matter the game, nice GMs are a godsend. Every now and then I meet a GM or even an entire guild where I often get the feeling that I don't deserve the nice treatment. My personality ends up contrasting the atmosphere. People like you rock, I just happen to strive for the same outcome with much more aggressive, provocative and cruel actions.
      Because for every safe haven I would want to protect, there's 10 pricks and player trap guilds which I just want to see burn. Instead of the positive actions, I have relied on backstabbing and sometimes even player killing. And besides... they deserve to be dethroned and returned back to the group of losers for their sins. When they don't play fair, neither do I.

    The vanilla WoW nostalgia guy. He got into alpha and beta through a friend, and remembers everything that ever happened since launch. He's been essentially playing non-stop since the game was a pre-thought, and will remind you every chance he gets that he remembers something from 2004 and 2005 that only other WoW nostalgia guys can understand. These types usually band together to brag against someone who only started playing during Burning Crusade.

    • @yasaminwhy8212
      @yasaminwhy8212 6 лет назад +10

      Feed The Cory far too accurate. I've been playing since BC, we were chatting about our favourite parts of BC in guild chat, a guildie commented on how removing ammo was a good move, I agreed. Vanilla Dude INSTANTLY butts in and tells us how wrong we are, that WoW's so much worse now, that dungeons/mobs/levelling are way too easy now, that (bit odd this one) physics doesn't account for ammo appearing out of nowhere, and went on a rant about the various game/mechanics changes he didn't like... all from one comment.
      I pointed out that he's a Mage and physics also doesn't account for Polymorph. Some people just like to get riled up over nothing I guess.

      well some people actually WERE playing all along... myself included... and if only another nostalgia guy can take my point about like blood plague or arcane crystal farm wars... then it that doesnt mean we're bragging... it means we're reliving some good memories that were so much more fun than the new , less exciting but far more overtuned content that WOW offers today... its a really good moment when you find another classic enthusiast soul to talk about classic wow with... and you dont get it cuz you are not one of us...

  • @Shyllard

    I am the LFR one. Due to my job, can't go on guild raids regularly, but it's enough for me, I never stopped playing for lack of content, only becouse I just didn't have time for it. But yeah, I know I miss a lot of stuff becouse of this, but have been playing oin and off since Lich King so it's good enough for me.

    I'm sort of a Pug.
    I don't have a guild and I basically join raid groups as a pick-up. I've got a decent gear for NM (894 ilvl) and I've been told that I do well on strats and on DPS.
    The real difference is that I usually immerse myself in the raid as in, I get some badass music on and I enjoy it like it was a movie or something.
    It's fun.

  • @Xylarxcode
    @Xylarxcode 7 лет назад +139

    I guess I'm the pug. I'm not in a guild, I have no desire to communicate with anyone in the raid group and my gear is only average. Good enough to do the raid, not good enough to stand out in any way. I usually just join a raid, do my thing for an hour or two and then leave, without so much as a word. Raid could have gone extremely well or pisspoor. I could have won 2 shiny new epics or fuck all and my reaction will still be the same. I'm just kind of there for the duration of the raid and the second it's over, I'm gone.

    @r.gletscher5162 7 лет назад +85

    Good one. The "LFR-Raider" is exactly how i picture those guys commenting under Legion videos how vanilla was the peak of difficulty and that the game caters only to casuals now lmao.

    • @r.gletscher5162
      @r.gletscher5162 7 лет назад +12

      I dont hate on players than run only LFR. if you dont have the time or wish to commit its your choice. i was purely talking about the players using it as argument on how the game changed and how they "cleared the entire endgame" by queing up LFR.

    • @magecastermax2054
      @magecastermax2054 7 лет назад

      LFR and people who don't like how wow currently does things is not one in the same. Back than in Vanilla there was no LFR. You HAD to be in a guild or pug it.

    • @r.gletscher5162
      @r.gletscher5162 7 лет назад +1

      It is for me. Because thats all i hear from this "anti-retail" side of view.
      WoW is too casual, WoW doesnt offer any challenge, spamming tradechat "LFG XY was so much better and social" than a constructive LFG tool, yadda yadda.
      I mean "back in vanilla you had to be in a guild or pugg it"? so exactly what you have to do for normal and heroic now? And atleast (because lets face reality, mythic is done in guilds, not being pugged) being on the same realm if you choose to commit to mythic raids?
      There are several Topics i wouldnt mind to discuss, but "difficulty" of raids, dungeons ect are none of them. The mechanically most challenging Vanilla Bosses dont even come close to some Trashmobs in terms of complexity.

    • @devincampbell5007
      @devincampbell5007 7 лет назад

      +R. Gletscher What about C'thun? He was very rarely killed in Vanilla and is know as the hardest boss that has been in the game.

    • @r.gletscher5162
      @r.gletscher5162 7 лет назад

      +devin campbell I remember Cthun was considered to be impossible and only got killed after several nerfs. that wasnt a mechanical issue or lack of skill on playerside, but rather heavy overtuning and not testing bosses. with the given gear it was mathematically impossible to kill the tentacles before they wiped the raid while still damagin Cthun himself.
      there were several of those incidents like kael thas(oh god the bugs like neverending-not resetable dialoge), vashir having several gamebraking bugs for months, magtheridon being overtuned again, ect.
      or archimonde where you could only attune 4! of your raid members after each Vashj kill. that was heavy gating, not the 1 quest a week for the broken shore we have now that dont really matter.
      Most "first kills" of bosses that took that long had a reason. Like onyxia or molten core in general was counted from lvl 1 start, people had to reach max level, get gear, attune and find enough people that achieved the same.

  • @117blingbling

    The "Female" One is so fucking true !
    I mean the one in my Guild Geez, You wouldn't believe it, 2 weeks later after joining the Guild she became the Guild leader's assistant/officer, and is now probably dating with the Guild Leader now.
    Once I literally got kicked out of the Raid Group in guild because she logged in and wanted to Tank, and so they choose to replace me......., But the thing that got me Crazy about this is how they wiped 6 times in a row when they reached the next boss, and had to call the Raid off because she didn't know the tact but nobody had the fuckin balls to tell her to go look up the tactic

There are plenty of other things to do in Warfcraft other than pvp and raid. Those are the things I like to do.

    This is so good xD I have only ever been a part of a single raiding guild, and we had:
    A super nice leader who always asked me how I was doing. A girl who literally everyone flirted with awkwardly in the voice chat, and who everyone agreed with no matter what. A super awkward guy who just coughed into the mic now and then. (Gotta say, I was like that too at first xP ) A guy who instantly left after first yelling at us when we wiped once.

    My Thoughts
    The Awkward Guy: I rarely get them.
    The Overly-Nice Guild Leader: Who is that?
    The Female: Only One? There are (way) more than that. My mom even plays WoW. And this type of woman is nothing like my mom.
    The Elite (Four) of the Elite: I can see why the Elite of the Elite can be amazing.
    The "One Wipe and I'm out" guy: I am on his side if I meet one.
    The Pug: There are tons of those out there.
    The LFR Raider: Count me in because I am him.
    The Silent Perfectionist: I wish I was him, but I have gear that sucks.
    The Super Awesome Bad***: I wish, and thanks for the tip.
    That's a long name, but I will call him "The Liar": Who is this guy?

    Hahahah I wish you included the "link deeps" guy. The guy who asks for meters ever few minutes, after a big trash pull cause he wants to "see if he needs to adjust for his AoE dps" and during down time on a boss to "see if he is performing as well as he normally does by this checkpoint"... But when you ask why he doesn't have meters installed... He says either it's distracting so he prefers to just ask for a link, or that he forgot to turn it on before raid. Fucking. Classic. Good video!

    I played WoW up to it's 3rd expansion, Wraith Of the Lich king. I wasn't top of the raids mind you but I was usually in the top ten list of dps with the best gear in the game for my class. I had played this game since damn near its humble beginnings and suddenly one day just after my second weekly raid I had a realization: "I'm bored off my ass and I hate this game!" No, I didn't just suddenly decide this either, it had been one of those thoughts/feelings in the dark corner of my mind that I had always buried with a ton of excuses for nearly a year with excuses like"Nah, I'm just not doing enough!" or "I just need to run these raids more!" and much more pathetic excuses. It was then after deleting my character with full epic gear, uninstalling the game, and canceling my sub that I realized one important thing: This game is BUILT from the code up to be as addicting as possible. From the easymode raids(nightmare was the "hardest" when I played), to the leveling which took no time at all as long as you knew the leveling zones, this entire game was built to keep you playing without realizing that you were bored off your ass by continuously throwing the next stupid quest or objective at you even after you thought you were "done" when all it was, was another of the same thing you've been doing for the last 500+ quests but with a different name, NPC, and items to farm/obtain. No, the game isn't dead because Blizzard has figured out the perfect formula to keep players ADDICTED to their game, yes I said ADDICTED. WoW is literally an ADDICTION. Some handle this addiction better than others but most addicts CAN NOT GO FOR MORE THAN A WEEK without playing this game for at least 4 hours. There are COUNTLESS news articles, stories, and even shrinks to confirm this but since it is a VIDEO GAME and not a chemical, Blizzard can not be touched. I managed to escape it and yes I WENT THREW WITHDRAWAL! Countless times I had to fight the urge to reinstall the game and start over again. Not because I had nothing else to do no, because I missed the feeling of empowerment, the feeling of being all powerful, leading players to victory, being the top ten DPS. I'm not bulshitting you, the ADDICTION IS REAL! So next time you log into WoW, seriously ask yourself this: Am I logging in because I'm having fun and enjoying the game? Or am I logging in because I feel the need to play for no real reason despite not really having fun anymore.

    I am the silent perfectionist. I didn't think any of the "types" in this video would apply to me, but that one REALLY does. I'm not gonna say I'm a flawless raider. I typically parse in the 90%+ area on current mythic content. I play DPS, so my input just isn't needed.
    The reason for the silence (on my part) is that I feel I have nothing to add to whatever is already being said. The raid leader/call-out people genuinely have it under control... usually. And if I'm ever asked something specifically, I just type out my answer real quick. I actually raid with my mic muted pretty much every night. It has reached the point where people do not know what I sound like after raiding with me for months, several nights a week.
    The only time I've ever had to unmute my mic was when I was the 3rd tank during Blackrock Foundry during WoD. And even then it was very seldom. Keep in mind this is only during raids. Outside of raids I'm willing to talk.

    I think there's a missing one: the LFR raider that nicely tries to get the raid to succeed (me in mists after my guild died).
    These are usually a smart dps or a tank that tries putting up raid markers, explaining strats to people who aren't familiar with the boss, and talking to the other tank to know who should get what adds, etc.
    Usually while they take the time to discuss strats, they'll be harassed by the impatient LFRs yelling "GOGOGOGOGO", then ninja pull when no one's ready, and say "YOU GUYS SUCK" and leave. : /

I had more fun playing casually, then trying to get top100 raiding 6-7 times a week for 4-5hours. The only thing i recognized was, that i tried to give it my best, trying to raise my hps/dps more and more to challenge myself.

    trigger warning for the anti-sjw: this is gonna sound feminist. I've watched a lot of your videos andenjoyed them, and I felt like as much a part of the community as anyone. But your point about "the female" really made me feel unwelcome, because it became obvious you're playing with men first and foremost. I've been toying with the thought of joining voice chat, but with your point I think that would be a really bad idea, so maybe it'd be smarter of me to remain "the silent guy" you mentioned in another point. I really hope "the female"-point was sort of a joke. Only room enough for one female in the group? You know what, sure. One declared female and ten secret ones. I bet that what happens is that when the females see how fellow females are drowned (which, really, is just sorta sad for the boys) the second her gender is out, the girls decide to keep their gender a secret. I bet that's how both guys and girls come to think that most girls are attention whores: it's because the only reason anyone would come forward with being female, is to get attention. Hell, I bet a ton of the "the female" are guys, because 99% of the females I know are far fed up with sexual attention and have an easy way to escape it in gaming, while really, a significant part of the male players severely lack sexual attention and acknowledgement.
    I really feel like I owe it to my sisters to come forward with being a girl in order to let them know that they're not alone, that they're not the only one feeling like it's better to let everyone assume she's a guy. But I don't want to bring politics into my game, my free time, my... dare I say it? Safe place :o I just want a game where it doesn't matter what gender you are. So I'm not gonna log in and spam trade calling out for the secret females. I'll never do that. But I'd love it if you'd just acknowledge that it's a common misconception, instead of adding fuel to the myth. Maybe you could be one of the guys who informs the player base that "this is why we can't have nice things". Then maybe one day it won't be stupid of me to join voice chat.

    • @krumpls
      @krumpls 4 года назад

      Good God, going way off there. "Hell, I bet a ton of the 'the female' are guys," damn. With some third part software installed to give them a female voice, right? Shit. Anyway, it's just that the female/male player ratio is pretty low, especially in raiding guild groups and such.

    If I'm tanking and need to communicate with the other tank, I make a quick /say macro to get the job done. Switch out my mount keybind for it.
    But there's been some "Oh shit" moments where I have to take someones job because they died or lost their cooldown to something else, and I start talking in voice chat. My guild will always ask "Who's voice is that?"
    I fall somewhere between Silent Perfectionist and Award Silent guy. I've been playing this game for 10 years, and I know what I'm doing. I tend to die once to a new mechanic.
    Though, when I see I'm not pulling the DPS I should be I start getting a little depressed and spend all my time between raids trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. It's really discouraging and I get too scared to join raid groups at all. Usually leading me to slowly fall out of the patch.

    A lot of times it's not the fact that were awkward some of us just like to sit back listen and learn. Makita proper communication with the team is understanding and developing idea of patterns of each individual person. we stay quiet until we know you once we truly know you we don't shut up

    As a female raider in WoW, I can say
    Literally everything was wrong, at least in my case. Maybe, just MAYBE I’m not playing because my (non existent) boyfriend is leader, or I’m looking for attention. It might just actually be because I like, playing, a, game.

    What makes the raider who doesn't use addons so good is that he doesn't NEED the PC to do it for him

    What addons are good for raiding? I haven’t had much time so I’ve been a dirty LFR raider but I’m getting into more stuff when BfA drops. What should I get that’ll help me with mechanics and DPS?

    Other raiders: the roleplayer (roleplays during the raid), the joker (jokes around, especially on the killraids, but he is usually also a badass dps-er so you can't kick him), the know-it-better guy (always wants to use a different tactic than the raidleader), the famous guy (played in a world renowned guild or was rank 14 in vanilla),

    I don't like list videos - but this one is really accurate. I've met all 10 of these people.

    I was a pug who was often called on for heroic ICC and FL for my druid heals by a few different guilds every week. Just didn't have time for the commitment to a guild lol

    I was the guy who provided commentary/narration in one section of the frozen citadel raid with my guild. It was back in WoTLK, the best WoW days of my life (before I quit), I would provide nonsensical narration while we killed a giant abomination and everyone laughed. After that, Id shut my mouth and focus on killing mobs and bosses.

    I'm the "Good player who dies a lot." And my guild never lets me forget it. Like when I fell off the bridge for the first time on heroic krosus "GOD DAMNIT HELLE!"
    Or when I time my jump perfectly on the fall to Krosus so that way I die.
