So many memories in this one! Vinyl frisbees, nipping round the back of Orlakes to bunk in to Dagenham FC (pre-Redbridge) and then nipping back out again when an over-zealous defender launched the ball over the stand (I’m having that). A bunch of us took a forklift for a joy ride round the estate one time too, that might have been Orlakes’ come to think of it 😂
Loving the videos dugs. Thanks for sharing too. Got me thinking about Jacko big Dan. Ex Dagenham boy myself I’ve know Dan since 88/89 next time you see ask him Kensington Gardens ilford massive. Funny one. Radio related story too. Keep up the good work brother it’s greatly appreciated.
Im glad i shook the vinyl habit, I moved house a few times and got sick of lugging them about sold most. Then something like the Brand New Funk reboot comes ....and i need some rehab
Hello mate,I worked there from 88-90,I worked upstairs on the belt as the packing inspector, checking the odd box for damages as it was called and stacking the box's ready to put in sleeves and boxed up to ship,I remember eve lol,she probably remembers me, Vera was my manager l loved her,if you see eve say michael the 17 year old on the belt upstairs 😆
The best times I had on Pirate Radio was when I had a nice little hook-up from one of the main distros at the time, getting sent a nice little box of FRESH FREE vinyl every 4-6 weeks! We all done it bruv, no harm done! lol Big up Orlakes! Legendary! =)
@@runcomefollowuncledugs Lol, I remember you playing a ‘War in 94’ VIP on Conflict, it had a different intro, I’ve never heard it since, what mix was it? Can you remember?
i used to frequent this place , jump in the skip and then sell them at school, allegedly! i still have some picture discs from there . brought back some nice memories (scoot)
“And then I lost my job, because I was rubbish” crackin me up bruv🤣🤣🤣. I understand that vinyl addiction all to well mate. I don’t think I want to be cured🤣. And yeah they would have done exactly the same bruv🤣🤣. I’m gonna have to go through the old skool collection n try find with Orlakes on now🤣. Wicked 1 Dugs👊🏽💜
That's crazy a pirate radio dj working in a vinyl pressing plant. That seems like destiny to me and I don't blame you one bit for lifting records for your show. Really enjoyed this story as always mate. Keep up the good work.

I was chased out of Orlakes as a kid when I got caught in one of the bins with several records up my jumper, lol!
😂😂Same here, me and a friend used to do a regular walk through of the open shutters there swiping tunes on a regular, good ol' days.
@@MR_WIZZARD 😆👍
Think we all got chased from there at some point haha
I used to work at Nu-urban music.. I remember Orlakes used to bring us lots of tunes.. in a blue transit I think the guys name was Kev….
Was a key part of the industry tbf
