I like Dr. Squatch pine tar, but even when I scrub the hell out of myself with it, it doesn’t have a lingering smell like the Duke cannon soap does after scrubbing with the tactical scrubber. It’s very pleasing and I also enjoy that the Duke Cannon soap is massive and provides a better price for what you get. I feel Dr.Squatch has a strong smell in the package but it unfortunately doesn’t transfer to your skin well. Oh and the Dr.Squatch crumbles to bits when it gets remotely ‘thin’.
Yeah they wanted me to buy bundles and you know have me use discount codes and then it still ends up being ridiculously over priced. So I bought one at the store and I don’t even wanna use it anymore 😂 I got duke cannon to try because I heard you smell good afterwards too. The price is way better aswell
So I had this debate with someone already. The comparable ingredients between the bars are the same. It's just that Duke uses the chemical names for the ingredients vs. the "normal words". They're both organic not that that makes any difference rubbing crap on your skin.... i.e. Sodium Chloride === Sea Salt etc....
Yeah I realized how ignorant I was about the ingredients so I actually did some research and made a video about them. I’m not saying you should go watch it or anything, but I learned a lot about ingredients and how marketing really makes people believe certain things.
@@mens_essentials glad you went back and looked into that because I feel like it happens to a lot of ppl. (subscribed for that reason). Honestly, I think what happens is a person reads the ingredients, sees the scientific name for natural ingredients, and just assume it's not natural because the names remind them of chemistry class lol. It really is a smart marketing strategy by Dr. Squatch if anything.
Yes most of the ingredients are the same, however the big stand out one with Duke Canon is the pentasodium pentetate, that is not an organic compound and is used to bind metal ions and neutralize them. However it cannot be classed as a natural soap because of it. Its also banned in some countries as well.
Duke Cannon is way better there soap last for a month top.i try doctor squatch there good also can use the improvement needs to be bigger and it runs out quickly.
*"Always bet on Duke"* Got the Bay Rum bar, smells really good and got the tactical scrubber. Love it. Also have a jar of the Bloody Knuckles hand repair balm and holy shit it works so much better than any advance therapy lotion.
FYI- natural ingredients can hurt you and non-natural chemical compounds can be good for you as well. It’s not a good generalization to make that “natural means better for you”.
Colloidal oatmeal is generally good for skin. It's a natural antiinflammatory and antibiotic. If you have itchy and rashy skin, soap with oatmeal is a plus.
I like Dr. Squatch quite a bit, but switched over to Bearsville soaps because they have more sales and a bigger variety for that type of soap. I recently ordered a bunch of Duke Cannon soaps and they all smell great. I'm looking forward to giving them a try.
I have many of both currently and Love both brands! They're very similar, Duke's bigger which is good but could be bad if you have small hands. Both smell really good. Dr.Squatch leaves my skin feeling better but not by a huge difference. I'll probably use both...
I still use both, but might use duke cannon more. The sizing with duke cannon isn't a problem for me....until I drop it in the shower and it makes a loud bang lol
I like the smell of Dr. Squatch's Pine Tar, but it's too rough for me, personally. Fresh Falls, though, is one of the newer scents, and I highly recommend giving that one a try. 🙂
Different between the two. Squatch smells better and actually sticks to your body. Dukes will last you about a month depending on how often you shower and
Duke Cannons smell doesn't last with you? That's weird how it does with some people and not with others. I'm sure there's a scientific explanation for it, maybe some soaps are more compatible with some body chemistries? Hell I dunno, but I can shower in the morning with Duke Cannon and still smell it after 5 or 6 hours at work

I used Squatch for a while. Now I use Duke Cannon Here's why. More soap for your dollar I subscribed and those smaller bars of squatch soap wouldn't last all that long Duke Cannon is called "Big Ass Brick of Soap" for a reason One big bar of soap lasts you a long time. And I shower some times twice a day depending on if I've been exercising, working in the yard, etc.
PSA: I've seen this complaint across many various soap company reviews "the scent smells good in the shower, but I can't smell it later in the day" ......you're NOT supposed to. That's not what soap is designed for. If you can still smell your soap on you at the end of the full day, you probably didn't rinse off well and you're going to have skin as dry as the Sahara Desert if you keep doing that. Advice? This is what we have cologne for gentlemen. I've used some of the Duke Cannon colognes, they're cheap, smell good, and aren't obnoxiously overpowering. (Sometimes do have to reapply the solid cologne midday depending on what you do for work) Also, if you're not a cologne guy, find a body lotion that gives off a nice scent. Outlaw Soaps has some great masculine smelling lotion, albeit a little pricey

The Dr. Squatch smells great, stronger than the Duke Cannon. Not a fan of the oatmeal, salt, or any other rocks and pebbles found in soap. But the new Pine Tar scent from Duke Cannon is a litter stronger than the Fresh Cut Pine and is the new favorite, still not the punch in the face scent when you open the Amazon lock box. Tried a lot of the Duke Cannon soaps and they really deliver the suds, and proceeds from their sales go to support military veterans' organizations.
I love Duke over the Dr and you can get it at tractor supply for 6.99 a bar when on sale I like the victory bar best also a portion of the sale goes to support veterans
Yeah tractor supply is a good place to find Duke. I also found it for 5.99 sometimes at TJ maxx, the boxes are a bit wrinkled but that’s the only issue I’ve found.
I've switched from liquid soap to Duke Cannon about a year ago, and I love Duke Cannon. Their beer and whiskey scents have actual beer and whiskey in them, which is great. They also sell a soap on a rope which is great for camping or just every day use. I tell everyone how amazing they are!

I’ve been in the same bar of soap for about a month now and i can already tell it’s gonna last longer than 2 months. Still has a a lot of “volume” still on the bar. Especially with the tactical scrubber. You get better suds, better cleaning, and more efficient use of the soap.
You and I must have had wildly different experiences with squatch It’s fragrant, but barely out of the tiny cut away. And you got one of the high exfoliant soaps, that’s why your skin is softer…you should exfoliate more. Also in no way did the fragrance last all day.
Yeah I actually realized that what I should have done was maybe rub some onto a wash cloth and then rubbed it on and it probably would would have stayed in me less throughout the day. And I’ve had the same issue of fragrance staying on me with some colognes, where someone else will only have the cologne smell for a part of the day and on me it stays longer. But I’m not writing off dr squat hey completely, I ended up buying another scent and I will review and make a video about it soon. I appreciate your comment because it’s always good to hear someone else’s experience.
I agree too about the fragrance. i love the smell but it doesn't last all day at all. my husband loves it and so do I 😉 but in my opinion i give it a 10.
I used to use Dr. Squatch, but it runs out so fast and the price is so steep. Duel and cannon lasts so much longer and is so much more bang for your buck
I have been trying out some of these men's soap and shower companies, trying to find out which ones I like over others. Regarding Dr squatch, the pine tar is the only soap fragrance of theirs that I actually do like, precisely because it is so strong. I don't want some whisper or pretense of fragrance in the bar, I want a powerful, muscular scent that threatens to knock me on my ass. However strong that s*** might be in the shower, it definitely does not last long on my skin. All the other squats fragrances, in my humble opinion, or mediocre at best. But I just recently tried out Duke Cannon I got the sawtooth body wash and two in one stuff for my hair, end up the Three soap companies I've tried so far, bearsville is the third one, Duke Cannon is the worst by far.. at least when it comes to fragrance, Duke Cannon sucks balls. Strictly in terms of fragrance, baresville is the winner from what I have tried out so far. But I do like the scotch hair care stuff, though it's quite expensive. But a strong pine tar fragrance from squash? No, that's an asset
I like them both, but I do like the Dr. Squatch pine tar more than Duke Cannon, I like how much grit is in the bar, but Duke Cannon lasts longer, I love the powerful scent of Dr. Squatch. I use them both, I just switch up during the week.
I think the grit that dr squatch adds is something that makes some bars better than some of duke cannon's bars. For me, this squatch scent was a bit too much. But I like dr squatch bay rum's scent and grittiness more than duke cannons, so I switch up too depending on which scent I want to try.
I suggest you do something from Dr. Squatch with less grit. Bay Rum is my favorite scent. Freedom Fresh was a limited-time but is still available on eBay and sometimes rack stores. Freedom Fresh has zero grit and smells like a normal soap like Dove or whatever.
Most, if not all of Dr. Squatch soaps are just The Soap Guy’s soaps packaged differently. He’s based out of Indiana, you can buy it for a much much cheaper price straight from The Soap Guy wholesale.
I've used Squatch for over a year and have never even come close to the smell issue you had. Yes, it smells pretty strong just sitting there, but after the shower is done, the smell doesn't stick around at all. Also the point of the oatmeal is the grit. If you don't like grit, get their soaps without it. I, myself, prefer the ones with various grits for exfoliation. Yours really had a strange wear pattern, too. Mine always stays rectangular. I love what the soap has done for my skin and the price isn't so bad if you get a bundle. I paid about half what you said you did.
Yeah it's totally possible that I got one from a bad batch. But I have actually tried other pine tar soaps since then, and the dr.squatch version has actually been my favorite.
I found Duke Cannon stuff at an outdoor store and got a nice musky cologne and a citrus mint lip balm, I only checked out Dr Squatch after reading the Duke body wash ingredients full of sulfate. Guess I can keep my duke routine by doing the switch to bar now
I do give some points to Squatch for the oatmeal, sand, and salt in the bar. It’s a great exfoliate mix and leads me to call Pine Tar a “scrub bar” to be used twice a week against another bar without any grit filling in those gaps
@@mens_essentials I chose Grant. It’s warm spice, tonka bean, and sandalwood. The tonka lends a really nice vanilla-like scent that I really like and the spice and sandalwood notes make it a good fall and winter cologne imo

So I've been considering some Duke, and I absolutely love the Dr Squatch pine tar. I know you said Duke isn't as strong-smelling, but would you say it is close scent-wise?
Go with Duke. Ive had multiple Dr. Sqautch soaps. The thing with Squatch is that they disappear really quickly, so you don't really get a good bang for your buck. Another thing is, yes Squatch smells good, but in my personal opinion, they don't smell like the thing that it says it smells like. But with Duke, it lasts a very long time (especially the Big Ass bricks) and I got the gun smoke one or whatever, and it smells just like it.
I bought Dr. because of all the ads too. Went back to Head and Shoulders because the bar didn’t last long but man the squatch bros were right. I noticed headaches and a weight on my scalp after using head and shoulders again. Gonna try Duke. I got their pomade, my woman got it for me. Love it. Smell isn’t overpowering and I got feel it stuck in my hands like other pomades even after washing my hands two or three times.
I use the duke cannon I haven’t tied the other one. I was thinking of giving it a shot. But idk I’m happy with what I get. Duke is double the size for the same price sometimes cheaper.
Yeah I totally agree, that’s one of the things that Duke cannon has on dr squatch, the size of the soap, and it’s the same price and it lasts way longer. I still enjoy some dr squatch though

Ive used both of these and its honestly kind of a bad choice of scent for the comparison. They both have much better scents than these two. I also thouth the Squatch pine tar was too much. But the Duke cannon pine is nowhere near as good as their beer soaps or Leaf and Leather, or Buffalo Trace.
Yeah I didn’t realize that about the pine tar scent. But I went and tried the dr squatch bay rum and the bourbon scents and I really loved those after trying the pine tar. I also bought the pine tar shampoo and really liked that a lot, the pine tar was not as strong and I loved the shampoo.
@Men's Essentials I got several Dr Squatch bars for christmas 2020. And I had already been using some various DC bars and the bodywash. At first I thought maybe Dr Sq was better because it seemed more natural and I really enjoyed the scents. The biggest problem though is the price point and the fact that they just dont last. I can get 3-4 times the showers out of a bar of DC.
Get Duke Cannon. Its basically natural and cleans your body just as good. Dr squatch is overrated. The soap will last you like 3 or 4 showers. Get yourself a big ass brig of soap not a dissolving square
Not gonna lie dr squatch is too expensive but If you cut the dr squatch bars into 4 smaller pieces it will last you Longer. I am on day number 7 with the 1/4th piece I cut from the bar and each piece lasts about 8 days so thats roughly 32 days with one bar.
Got some Duke Cannon body wash arriving today, I like Dr Squatch a lot. Haven't had the pine tar yet. It is a heavy grit soap they have which some people like, and others don't. They also have zero, and medium grit. They do smell good, yet strong, so you aren't wrong there. I'm slightly bummed that the Duke Cannon soap isn't all natural. I'd pay $20 for an all natural 10 ounce bar of soap honestly. Solid review, and I'm still likely gonna try some of Duke Cannons Bar Soaps.
I've also been curious about the body wash. I'm going to keep trying different dr squatch soaps. I feel like I may have used too much when showering, and I think less is more with dr squatch. also dr squatch has duke cannon beat in the ingredients department but duke cannon is still a solid product. My experience with dr squatch is ok but not the best. My first bar was pine tar which smells great but god forbid it stained my shower. Plus they don’t last long about a month and a half with showers once a day or every few days, now on my last bar. Today I bought like 7 bars from dukes and they last for months
Yeah I had the same experience with the pine tar from dr squatch it did not last long, but the bay rum from squatch actually lasted longer and I liked it more too. Duke cannons bars are huge and heavy so they last longer. My favorite Duke cannon so far is the one that has deschutes ipa in it.
Dr Squatch is more expensive , has a slightly stronger scent up front , but the bars melt faster in shower or bath use, and will crumble quickly( best to use one of those shower scrub or definitely a towel) and with switch you need to wash it down from your skin Duke lasts longer per bar ( scent comes on strong under hot water and lathers up good) definitely pair it with a solid cologne Duke also has better sales - a 4 pack of Duke is $26-29 vs Dr Squatch 4 pack at $32- 36 Choose Dr Squatch on dirty days ( digging up backyard or working on car) but Duke Cannon as a bar can literally last a month of before and after work showers Salute the Duke!
I tried Dr Squatch I had like a Cool water it was gone in a week. I recently ordered Duke cannon Midnight Swim and I love it just ordered Bay Rum, Bourbon and Frothy the beer men I love it! Duke Cannon for the win

Good question! I would still give duke cannon a higher rating. But instead of giving the dr squatch a 6/10 rating I would make it an 8/10. It's good soap but the scent was too strong.
I tried the Dr.Squatch Pine Tar soap.Thought it was decent but I have seen other soap companies(aside from the Duke Cannon comparison)that could give Dr.Squatch a run for its money.
All of the dr squatch soaps I've tried, the smell goes away after I rinse. I haven't tried Duke yet. I see they have a rum version. Bar is huge though..
The Duke soaps are slightly stronger in the aroma department. I’ve used 6 different Squatch ones in the past and they’re pretty faint on smell. You won’t detect any of them after you shower.
Im a first buyers with dr squatch & i like that it has that salt added since i work with chemicals i feel they help me remove reduce from my body not all bars have it but i grabbed a lil of everything but so far those that carry that have been my main favorite now down side soaps runs out pretty quick less than a week but guilty it might be my 30-40min showers since i shower 1st a day since our oils of our body are good so yeah but that bar runs pretty dawm quick for 8dollars now i been viewing videos here an there i found this other guy that was weighting the soap bars the packaged would say 5onz but they would be almost 4.2 around there thats crazy i need healthy products but for that price i would like my bar bigger.
I'm a Dr Squatch fan big time, I just got bar of Duke for Christmas, I don't like soap that has harsh chemicals in it, and having brown skin some soap makes your skin to dry, and The Dr. Keeps feeling clean all day even after working with horses all day and working out I don't get funky junk or pitts from sweating with Dr believe or not with the Dr I don't wear deodorant anymore and no I don't stink my wife would kill me for funky, I will let you know how the Duke stands up from good days works or how it feel on darker skin tones and if I get funky with my bad self I not going to use the Duke except to wash my hands and not on my nurts & babies arm holding an apple

I tried all 3 companies soaps also dr squatch, outlaw and duke cannon I honestly like duke cannon the best not because the soap bars are bigger but I genuinely like the scents duke cannon has a lot of great manly scented soaps
Despite the fact that duke is a better value for money and the smell lasts after wards if you pay more for you soap you need to use a soap saver and take it out of your bathroom to dry after. Don’t expose any nice soap with more water than you need to and it WILL last longer….i don’t think duke has as many “bad” chemicals as people are claiming…also for the love of god guys use a loofah or a wash rag. The grit just worsens your skin by tearing it. Unless you have a huge patch of dry skin that needs to go why even use the bar directly on your body? That’s gonna waste a lot of the soap anyways and the rag/loofah will lightly exfoliate you as long as you don’t have the dove branded one 😂

Yeah the same thing happens to me, probably because of water that wears it down when others in my family shower too. Still good bars but wish they were bigger.

@@mens_essentials I don’t know if you’ve tried the Duke Cannon Tactical Scrubber, but it can help your soap last longer, makes it easier to hold onto, and it exfoliates your skin as you scrub. And you can put any of the Duke Cannon soaps in it; you don’t have to buy a specific bar in only one or relatively few scents as you would with Dr. Squatch.
As far as I can tell (no expert) the list of chemicals on the DC isn't that bad, chemicals don't necessarily mean bad for you. It's a small list too and the ones on the list just tell me it's decent soap with not too much added

Duke canonn is Twice the size for basically the same price, and is a far far far better product. Also they support the troops so it’s a win win. Duke Cannon wins by a mile.
So I have a white shower and tub, the dr squatch pine tar rinses black and stained my tub, their soaps don’t last me long and never have a strong enough scent, duke cannon on the other hand, doesn’t rinse black and doesn’t stain my shower, plus its bigger, last me longer and has a stronger smell. Duke cannon all day!
after being a Irish Springs man for a very long time I broke down and got Dr squatch pine tar soap and deodorant. absolutely love the smell now if only they can come out with a ceder scent I would be all over that!!
Squatch does sell a cedar sent, and it smells pretty good. My only complaint was the lack of grit the soap had, but that’s just personal preference. I like the grittier and rougher bars.
Just got my 1st order of Duke Cannon today. Tried Dr. Squatch and wasnt thrilled. Smelled great in the package but in the shower I smelled NOTHING. Perhaps its the water in my town but Idk. Got high hopes for Duke Cannon though.
I’ve tried several of the Dr Squatch scents, and I agree. The scent doesn’t really stick. I’ve just dipped my toe into the Duke pool with a bar of leaf and leather scent, and a tactical pouch. The Duke scent seems to stick with me longer and I’m a fan of the pouch. I must say it’s tough to get a good lather going with the pouch but you get there.
Love both of these soaps but I can’t believe you only gave it a 6 out of 10 , dr squatch is better hands down ,me and my kids both use it and it is expensive but there is no doubt it’s much better and better for you , no bad chemicals , smells awesome and it’s all natural leaving your skin feelng amazing, I only get Duke cannon when I run out and I brake out from any other soap including Duke cannon but not as bad , hands down dr squatch is a 10 out of 10 and much better
I’ve actually changed my thoughts about the dr squatch since I made this video. I tried the pine tar shampoo and deodorant and I love both of those. Which made me want to try the soap again and I can honestly say it is one of the best pine tar soaps I’ve tried, although I’ve only tried 2 others. But it’s really grown on me.
I tried Dr Squatch....the bars dont last long......kind of pricey......but what really turns me off, Im so SICK of Dude Bro douche bag advertising for men's products. I kind of like the soap but not enough to support that advertising campaign. Duke Cannon to the best of my knowledge hasn't done that type of advertising yet. Im about to try some products from True Classic Tees.....and their ads are on thin ice with me. They seemed to have pulled back from douchey advertising but seriously, I just can't stand that advertising they seem to think attracts men.

Squatch smells good, 5oz bar, doesn’t last long at all because they are single milled. Duke some smells good, 10oz bar, lasts forever because they’re triple milled. No brainer. At Military PX/BX duke goes for 6$. I picked up two Frothy The Beer Man couple days ago for 4$ a piece. Squatch at Walmart goes for 10-12$ here in Alaska
Must have been background noise (on my side) but when you mentioned Oatmeal in the Dr Squatch soap, I thought you said Opium. That would make for a different bathing experience (and scent) but since many employers require random drug testing, also maybe not the best idea. Oh well...
Duke Cannon tastes better and lasts longer on pizza and pancakes. Dr Squatch does go down smoother with coffee but does terrible in the winter on car alternators.
Dr Squatch is too expensive for the quality of product they give you. Their Star Wars soap absolutely sucked. Duke Cannon is only one dollar more, but their bar is double the size and the pleasant smell is longer lasting. That’s a win for me. I’ve been using Dr Squatch for over 2 years. Because of the oatmeal, Pine Tar feels like sandpaper. 😂

I like Dr. Squatch pine tar, but even when I scrub the hell out of myself with it, it doesn’t have a lingering smell like the Duke cannon soap does after scrubbing with the tactical scrubber. It’s very pleasing and I also enjoy that the Duke Cannon soap is massive and provides a better price for what you get.
I feel Dr.Squatch has a strong smell in the package but it unfortunately doesn’t transfer to your skin well.
Oh and the Dr.Squatch crumbles to bits when it gets remotely ‘thin’.

So I had this debate with someone already. The comparable ingredients between the bars are the same. It's just that Duke uses the chemical names for the ingredients vs. the "normal words". They're both organic not that that makes any difference rubbing crap on your skin.... i.e. Sodium Chloride === Sea Salt etc....
Yeah I realized how ignorant I was about the ingredients so I actually did some research and made a video about them. I’m not saying you should go watch it or anything, but I learned a lot about ingredients and how marketing really makes people believe certain things.

Honestly, I think what happens is a person reads the ingredients, sees the scientific name for natural ingredients, and just assume it's not natural because the names remind them of chemistry class lol. It really is a smart marketing strategy by Dr. Squatch if anything.

Yes most of the ingredients are the same, however the big stand out one with Duke Canon is the pentasodium pentetate, that is not an organic compound and is used to bind metal ions and neutralize them. However it cannot be classed as a natural soap because of it. Its also banned in some countries as well.

Got the Bay Rum bar, smells really good and got the tactical scrubber. Love it. Also have a jar of the Bloody Knuckles hand repair balm and holy shit it works so much better than any advance therapy lotion.

FYI- natural ingredients can hurt you and non-natural chemical compounds can be good for you as well. It’s not a good generalization to make that “natural means better for you”.
Colloidal oatmeal is generally good for skin. It's a natural antiinflammatory and antibiotic. If you have itchy and rashy skin, soap with oatmeal is a plus.
I like Dr. Squatch quite a bit, but switched over to Bearsville soaps because they have more sales and a bigger variety for that type of soap. I recently ordered a bunch of Duke Cannon soaps and they all smell great. I'm looking forward to giving them a try.

I have many of both currently and Love both brands! They're very similar, Duke's bigger which is good but could be bad if you have small hands. Both smell really good. Dr.Squatch leaves my skin feeling better but not by a huge difference.

I like the smell of Dr. Squatch's Pine Tar, but it's too rough for me, personally. Fresh Falls, though, is one of the newer scents, and I highly recommend giving that one a try. 🙂

All the exfoliating bars have a gritty texture to them. Supposed to help remove any dead skin, grime, etc. Definitely feels like it does the job

Duke Cannons smell doesn't last with you? That's weird how it does with some people and not with others. I'm sure there's a scientific explanation for it, maybe some soaps are more compatible with some body chemistries? Hell I dunno, but I can shower in the morning with Duke Cannon and still smell it after 5 or 6 hours at work

One big bar of soap lasts you a long time. And I shower some times twice a day depending on if I've been exercising, working in the yard, etc.
PSA: I've seen this complaint across many various soap company reviews "the scent smells good in the shower, but I can't smell it later in the day" ......you're NOT supposed to. That's not what soap is designed for. If you can still smell your soap on you at the end of the full day, you probably didn't rinse off well and you're going to have skin as dry as the Sahara Desert if you keep doing that.
Advice? This is what we have cologne for gentlemen. I've used some of the Duke Cannon colognes, they're cheap, smell good, and aren't obnoxiously overpowering. (Sometimes do have to reapply the solid cologne midday depending on what you do for work)
Also, if you're not a cologne guy, find a body lotion that gives off a nice scent. Outlaw Soaps has some great masculine smelling lotion, albeit a little pricey

The Dr. Squatch smells great, stronger than the Duke Cannon. Not a fan of the oatmeal, salt, or any other rocks and pebbles found in soap. But the new Pine Tar scent from Duke Cannon is a litter stronger than the Fresh Cut Pine and is the new favorite, still not the punch in the face scent when you open the Amazon lock box. Tried a lot of the Duke Cannon soaps and they really deliver the suds, and proceeds from their sales go to support military veterans' organizations.
Yeah I think Duke cannon pine tar soap is great, pretty strong on the pine tar but not overwhelming.
I love Duke over the Dr and you can get it at tractor supply for 6.99 a bar when on sale I like the victory bar best also a portion of the sale goes to support veterans
Yeah tractor supply is a good place to find Duke. I also found it for 5.99 sometimes at TJ maxx, the boxes are a bit wrinkled but that’s the only issue I’ve found.
I've switched from liquid soap to Duke Cannon about a year ago, and I love Duke Cannon. Their beer and whiskey scents have actual beer and whiskey in them, which is great. They also sell a soap on a rope which is great for camping or just every day use. I tell everyone how amazing they are!

I’ve been in the same bar of soap for about a month now and i can already tell it’s gonna last longer than 2 months. Still has a a lot of “volume” still on the bar. Especially with the tactical scrubber. You get better suds, better cleaning, and more efficient use of the soap.

It’s fragrant, but barely out of the tiny cut away. And you got one of the high exfoliant soaps, that’s why your skin is softer…you should exfoliate more. Also in no way did the fragrance last all day.
Yeah I actually realized that what I should have done was maybe rub some onto a wash cloth and then rubbed it on and it probably would would have stayed in me less throughout the day. And I’ve had the same issue of fragrance staying on me with some colognes, where someone else will only have the cologne smell for a part of the day and on me it stays longer. But I’m not writing off dr squat hey completely, I ended up buying another scent and I will review and make a video about it soon. I appreciate your comment because it’s always good to hear someone else’s experience.

I have been trying out some of these men's soap and shower companies, trying to find out which ones I like over others. Regarding Dr squatch, the pine tar is the only soap fragrance of theirs that I actually do like, precisely because it is so strong. I don't want some whisper or pretense of fragrance in the bar, I want a powerful, muscular scent that threatens to knock me on my ass. However strong that s*** might be in the shower, it definitely does not last long on my skin. All the other squats fragrances, in my humble opinion, or mediocre at best. But I just recently tried out Duke Cannon I got the sawtooth body wash and two in one stuff for my hair, end up the Three soap companies I've tried so far, bearsville is the third one, Duke Cannon is the worst by far.. at least when it comes to fragrance, Duke Cannon sucks balls. Strictly in terms of fragrance, baresville is the winner from what I have tried out so far. But I do like the scotch hair care stuff, though it's quite expensive. But a strong pine tar fragrance from squash? No, that's an asset

I think the grit that dr squatch adds is something that makes some bars better than some of duke cannon's bars. For me, this squatch scent was a bit too much. But I like dr squatch bay rum's scent and grittiness more than duke cannons, so I switch up too depending on which scent I want to try.

I suggest you do something from Dr. Squatch with less grit. Bay Rum is my favorite scent. Freedom Fresh was a limited-time but is still available on eBay and sometimes rack stores. Freedom Fresh has zero grit and smells like a normal soap like Dove or whatever.
I did end up trying bay rum and it’s one of my favorite squatch soaps!
Most, if not all of Dr. Squatch soaps are just The Soap Guy’s soaps packaged differently. He’s based out of Indiana, you can buy it for a much much cheaper price straight from The Soap Guy wholesale.

I've used Squatch for over a year and have never even come close to the smell issue you had. Yes, it smells pretty strong just sitting there, but after the shower is done, the smell doesn't stick around at all. Also the point of the oatmeal is the grit. If you don't like grit, get their soaps without it. I, myself, prefer the ones with various grits for exfoliation. Yours really had a strange wear pattern, too. Mine always stays rectangular. I love what the soap has done for my skin and the price isn't so bad if you get a bundle. I paid about half what you said you did.
Yeah it's totally possible that I got one from a bad batch. But I have actually tried other pine tar soaps since then, and the dr.squatch version has actually been my favorite.
I love the duke cannon buffalo trace body wash, finally a body wash that actually makes me smell like a man and sticks with me throughout the day.
I've only tried the soap version of the buffalo trace and I love it, I'm gonna have to try the body wash now.

I found Duke Cannon stuff at an outdoor store and got a nice musky cologne and a citrus mint lip balm, I only checked out Dr Squatch after reading the Duke body wash ingredients full of sulfate. Guess I can keep my duke routine by doing the switch to bar now
I do give some points to Squatch for the oatmeal, sand, and salt in the bar. It’s a great exfoliate mix and leads me to call Pine Tar a “scrub bar” to be used twice a week against another bar without any grit filling in those gaps

@@mens_essentials I chose Grant. It’s warm spice, tonka bean, and sandalwood. The tonka lends a really nice vanilla-like scent that I really like and the spice and sandalwood notes make it a good fall and winter cologne imo

Go with Duke. Ive had multiple Dr. Sqautch soaps. The thing with Squatch is that they disappear really quickly, so you don't really get a good bang for your buck. Another thing is, yes Squatch smells good, but in my personal opinion, they don't smell like the thing that it says it smells like. But with Duke, it lasts a very long time (especially the Big Ass bricks) and I got the gun smoke one or whatever, and it smells just like it.
Duke Cannon Soap is a Dr. Squatch killer! Though my tub is a lot more grungier because I'm using real soap, my skin feels so much better!!!

I bought Dr. because of all the ads too. Went back to Head and Shoulders because the bar didn’t last long but man the squatch bros were right. I noticed headaches and a weight on my scalp after using head and shoulders again. Gonna try Duke. I got their pomade, my woman got it for me. Love it. Smell isn’t overpowering and I got feel it stuck in my hands like other pomades even after washing my hands two or three times.

I like Duke Cannon's Naval Diplomacy body wash. I tried one of the Squatch products and didn't feel like I got ultimately clean and it was too small.

Ive used both of these and its honestly kind of a bad choice of scent for the comparison. They both have much better scents than these two. I also thouth the Squatch pine tar was too much. But the Duke cannon pine is nowhere near as good as their beer soaps or Leaf and Leather, or Buffalo Trace.
Yeah I didn’t realize that about the pine tar scent. But I went and tried the dr squatch bay rum and the bourbon scents and I really loved those after trying the pine tar. I also bought the pine tar shampoo and really liked that a lot, the pine tar was not as strong and I loved the shampoo.
@Men's Essentials I got several Dr Squatch bars for christmas 2020. And I had already been using some various DC bars and the bodywash. At first I thought maybe Dr Sq was better because it seemed more natural and I really enjoyed the scents. The biggest problem though is the price point and the fact that they just dont last. I can get 3-4 times the showers out of a bar of DC.

Get Duke Cannon. Its basically natural and cleans your body just as good. Dr squatch is overrated. The soap will last you like 3 or 4 showers. Get yourself a big ass brig of soap not a dissolving square

Not gonna lie dr squatch is too expensive but If you cut the dr squatch bars into 4 smaller pieces it will last you Longer. I am on day number 7 with the 1/4th piece I cut from the bar and each piece lasts about 8 days so thats roughly 32 days with one bar.
I would argue that doctor squatch is hands down a better quality soap, but I just can't justify the price when I'm satisfied with Duke.
My Duke Cannon bar lasted so much longer than Dr Squatch. With the price of each compared to the difference in longevity Duke Cannon wins for me.
Got some Duke Cannon body wash arriving today, I like Dr Squatch a lot. Haven't had the pine tar yet. It is a heavy grit soap they have which some people like, and others don't. They also have zero, and medium grit. They do smell good, yet strong, so you aren't wrong there. I'm slightly bummed that the Duke Cannon soap isn't all natural. I'd pay $20 for an all natural 10 ounce bar of soap honestly. Solid review, and I'm still likely gonna try some of Duke Cannons Bar Soaps.
I've also been curious about the body wash. I'm going to keep trying different dr squatch soaps. I feel like I may have used too much when showering, and I think less is more with dr squatch. also dr squatch has duke cannon beat in the ingredients department but duke cannon is still a solid product. My experience with dr squatch is ok but not the best. My first bar was pine tar which smells great but god forbid it stained my shower. Plus they don’t last long about a month and a half with showers once a day or every few days, now on my last bar. Today I bought like 7 bars from dukes and they last for months
Yeah I had the same experience with the pine tar from dr squatch it did not last long, but the bay rum from squatch actually lasted longer and I liked it more too. Duke cannons bars are huge and heavy so they last longer. My favorite Duke cannon so far is the one that has deschutes ipa in it.
Dr Squatch is more expensive , has a slightly stronger scent up front , but the bars melt faster in shower or bath use, and will crumble quickly( best to use one of those shower scrub or definitely a towel) and with switch you need to wash it down from your skin
Duke lasts longer per bar ( scent comes on strong under hot water and lathers up good) definitely pair it with a solid cologne
Duke also has better sales - a 4 pack of Duke is $26-29 vs Dr Squatch 4 pack at $32- 36
Choose Dr Squatch on dirty days ( digging up backyard or working on car) but Duke Cannon as a bar can literally last a month of before and after work showers

Good question! I would still give duke cannon a higher rating. But instead of giving the dr squatch a 6/10 rating I would make it an 8/10. It's good soap but the scent was too strong.

All of the dr squatch soaps I've tried, the smell goes away after I rinse. I haven't tried Duke yet. I see they have a rum version. Bar is huge though..
The Duke soaps are slightly stronger in the aroma department. I’ve used 6 different Squatch ones in the past and they’re pretty faint on smell. You won’t detect any of them after you shower.
Duke is the way to go! Hands down

Im a first buyers with dr squatch & i like that it has that salt added since i work with chemicals i feel they help me remove reduce from my body not all bars have it but i grabbed a lil of everything but so far those that carry that have been my main favorite now down side soaps runs out pretty quick less than a week but guilty it might be my 30-40min showers since i shower 1st a day since our oils of our body are good so yeah but that bar runs pretty dawm quick for 8dollars now i been viewing videos here an there i found this other guy that was weighting the soap bars the packaged would say 5onz but they would be almost 4.2 around there thats crazy i need healthy products but for that price i would like my bar bigger.
Those ingredients in Duke Cannon are not chemicals, but derived from natural products.
I'm a Dr Squatch fan big time, I just got bar of Duke for Christmas, I don't like soap that has harsh chemicals in it, and having brown skin some soap makes your skin to dry, and The Dr. Keeps feeling clean all day even after working with horses all day and working out I don't get funky junk or pitts from sweating with Dr believe or not with the Dr I don't wear deodorant anymore and no I don't stink my wife would kill me for funky, I will let you know how the Duke stands up from good days works or how it feel on darker skin tones and if I get funky with my bad self I not going to use the Duke except to wash my hands and not on my nurts & babies arm holding an apple

Duke cannon camp fire is the sh!t ,smells great ,only thing I wish Duke would do is put some grit in a few bars besides that I got a huge stack of Duke ,an Duke cannon make s there soap like they did back in day .

I tried all 3 companies soaps also dr squatch, outlaw and duke cannon I honestly like duke cannon the best not because the soap bars are bigger but I genuinely like the scents duke cannon has a lot of great manly scented soaps

Despite the fact that duke is a better value for money and the smell lasts after wards if you pay more for you soap you need to use a soap saver and take it out of your bathroom to dry after. Don’t expose any nice soap with more water than you need to and it WILL last longer….i don’t think duke has as many “bad” chemicals as people are claiming…also for the love of god guys use a loofah or a wash rag. The grit just worsens your skin by tearing it. Unless you have a huge patch of dry skin that needs to go why even use the bar directly on your body? That’s gonna waste a lot of the soap anyways and the rag/loofah will lightly exfoliate you as long as you don’t have the dove branded one 😂

Yeah the same thing happens to me, probably because of water that wears it down when others in my family shower too. Still good bars but wish they were bigger.

@@mens_essentials I don’t know if you’ve tried the Duke Cannon Tactical Scrubber, but it can help your soap last longer, makes it easier to hold onto, and it exfoliates your skin as you scrub. And you can put any of the Duke Cannon soaps in it; you don’t have to buy a specific bar in only one or relatively few scents as you would with Dr. Squatch.

As far as I can tell (no expert) the list of chemicals on the DC isn't that bad, chemicals don't necessarily mean bad for you. It's a small list too and the ones on the list just tell me it's decent soap with not too much added

Duke canonn is Twice the size for basically the same price, and is a far far far better product. Also they support the troops so it’s a win win. Duke Cannon wins by a mile.
Squatch is so overhyped and overpriced it’s crazy. They seemingly disappear by just looking at them. Duke’s last easily 4x longer.
The pine tar is has the oatmeal for exfoliation.
So I have a white shower and tub, the dr squatch pine tar rinses black and stained my tub, their soaps don’t last me long and never have a strong enough scent, duke cannon on the other hand, doesn’t rinse black and doesn’t stain my shower, plus its bigger, last me longer and has a stronger smell. Duke cannon all day!
after being a Irish Springs man for a very long time I broke down and got Dr squatch pine tar soap and deodorant. absolutely love the smell now if only they can come out with a ceder scent I would be all over that!!

Squatch does sell a cedar sent, and it smells pretty good. My only complaint was the lack of grit the soap had, but that’s just personal preference. I like the grittier and rougher bars.

Just got my 1st order of Duke Cannon today. Tried Dr. Squatch and wasnt thrilled. Smelled great in the package but in the shower I smelled NOTHING. Perhaps its the water in my town but Idk. Got high hopes for Duke Cannon though.
I had the same experience with Dr. Squatch. Got excited to show my girlfriend the new smell after a shower, we both could barely smell it.

I’ve tried several of the Dr Squatch scents, and I agree. The scent doesn’t really stick. I’ve just dipped my toe into the Duke pool with a bar of leaf and leather scent, and a tactical pouch. The Duke scent seems to stick with me longer and I’m a fan of the pouch. I must say it’s tough to get a good lather going with the pouch but you get there.
Love both of these soaps but I can’t believe you only gave it a 6 out of 10 , dr squatch is better hands down ,me and my kids both use it and it is expensive but there is no doubt it’s much better and better for you , no bad chemicals , smells awesome and it’s all natural leaving your skin feelng amazing, I only get Duke cannon when I run out and I brake out from any other soap including Duke cannon but not as bad , hands down dr squatch is a 10 out of 10 and much better
I’ve actually changed my thoughts about the dr squatch since I made this video. I tried the pine tar shampoo and deodorant and I love both of those. Which made me want to try the soap again and I can honestly say it is one of the best pine tar soaps I’ve tried, although I’ve only tried 2 others. But it’s really grown on me.
I like the dr squatch but it makes a mess out of your shower. You have to clean the shower before it dries
I tried Dr Squatch....the bars dont last long......kind of pricey......but what really turns me off, Im so SICK of Dude Bro douche bag advertising for men's products. I kind of like the soap but not enough to support that advertising campaign. Duke Cannon to the best of my knowledge hasn't done that type of advertising yet. Im about to try some products from True Classic Tees.....and their ads are on thin ice with me. They seemed to have pulled back from douchey advertising but seriously, I just can't stand that advertising they seem to think attracts men.

Squatch smells good, 5oz bar, doesn’t last long at all because they are single milled.
Duke some smells good, 10oz bar, lasts forever because they’re triple milled. No brainer.
At Military PX/BX duke goes for 6$. I picked up two Frothy The Beer Man couple days ago for 4$ a piece. Squatch at Walmart goes for 10-12$ here in Alaska

Can't go wrong with The Duke.
Duke Cannon tastes better and lasts longer on pizza and pancakes. Dr Squatch does go down smoother with coffee but does terrible in the winter on car alternators.

Dr Squatch is too expensive for the quality of product they give you. Their Star Wars soap absolutely sucked. Duke Cannon is only one dollar more, but their bar is double the size and the pleasant smell is longer lasting. That’s a win for me. I’ve been using Dr Squatch for over 2 years. Because of the oatmeal, Pine Tar feels like sandpaper. 😂
