Hunting deep water can be challenging. I like to use a long line setup to hunt deep water for divers. In this video I go over all of the pieces to the rigs and how I set up my long lines for divers.
Final Approach does have a long line kit, but I prefer the rope setup with 12 decoys for how I run my long lines.

Loving the diver specific content. As an Atlantic flyway guy. We don't get the same type of puddle duck experience you guys get, but we do have good diver/sea duck hunting to supplement our season with.

If you can find some old window weights, they work great. If you need more weight, use a hose clamp to put two or more window weights together.

You can use a smaller main line....I use just the tangle free PVC line...do every thing the same up until connecting the decoy. I simply put a heavy duty split ring on the decoy with a large spring snap on it. Connect it straight to the loops you place in your long line. IMO and experience ZERO need for 2-3ft of extra line between the long line and the decoy. Used in 2.5t rollers zero issues.

We do pretty much the same. We keep the anchors tied on with one sitting in the side pocket and the other sitting in the bottom of the last slot. This way we avoid having to store anchors and clip them on/off each time. We also use swivels on each end of the drop instead of the crab clip.

We usually hang both tag ends out of the bag so that you can easily grab one to start and the same when you finish. Makes it pretty easy

We like to clip the ends to the handles….nothing sucks more than looking for which corner the ends are in at 4:30 in the morning 😂

We run lines the same way. Best way we have found to do it by far!

You might look into making a diver mat to have more of a cluster of ducks. I live in Idaho and hunt the snake river for divers and I use long lines just like you do without the knots those clips won’t slide, that way you can put some closer together and space them out. I use the motion spreader and mojo spreader. The mojo spreader holds 12 decoys and are spaced out and bought the connection pieces from motion spreader to connect the spreaders together to build a big raft then I run my long line separate like they are swimming into the raft. Might also get a cheap fishing net to retrieve birds from the boat so you don’t have to lean over the side and risk someone falling in.

The loops tied in the line aren’t needed. The long line clips won’t move on the line once clipped. Other then that we run them the same. But at 18” between decoys.

Could you make a video about decoying geese with a small spread

Are the FA divers oversize or life size?
