Some people can't tolerate the higher pressure, and leave them in their sock drawer and don't wear any. So in that case than the 15-20 would be better, but if you tolerate the higher pressure than wear the higher ones. Remember walking is the best way to prevent blood clots. Better than anything.
I don't really have any tips for putting them on--just pull them on like you would a sock but remember not to pull them super hard from the top--just pull them up gently. As for taking them off just pull them off like you would a sock.
