Total boat count was 36. I was WAY under at 18. Thanks for playing along and commenting.
Huge thanks to everyone that followed the Bella journey so far and coming to say hi on Bella's Instagram.
This has been a fun series!
Impressive parking job! 😬
Aww, Captain talking to his little girl was the best part of the video. So sweet. Respect Dad.
Phew, THAT is a tight squeeze. Respect to the Captain. A true professional.
Captain and Crew make it look pretty simple and just another day aboard a Super Yacht. Of course we all know that's not really the case, exceptional skill and preparation make it look so easy! Thanks for sharing.
Love watching, Jared. Sailed years ago. Mostly the Great Lakes. Moved to Florida and sold the boat! Go figure. Your videos make us want to get back to it. Stay safe and have fun out there! Thanks for sharing your life with us.
That is awesome! Thanks for the comment and appreciate the support!
Made my palms sweat a little. I have a difficult enough time with my carver 42 in wind or current. Nice helm work!
What seamanship, what a docking manouver. Compliments! And I'm a licensed captain.
Ah, the Simpson Bay Bridge! I've watched videos of it's casualties. I bought a boat there five years ago (a lovely 40-ft sailboat) and went through that bridge numerous times before bringing her home to the US. The bridge tender would be in that little cabin that is ripped away 24 seconds into your video. My boat was named "Blue Moon" and often the tender could be heard singing the song as we went through (I have a video of that!). Other times they'd be yelling at everyone to speed up so traffic could resume. A very dynamic spot with lots of traffic. I doubt if they yell at the big boats!
Love the Engineering at the end.....💙 I need a video of him changing that light bulb
That intro music before St. John was epic with the shots you had with it. Love Saint John. Used to work as a charter captain there. Beautiful part of the world
Always love watching the super Yachts struggle on my 30 foot sloop
The ship’s technician is awesome, I wanna see more of him.
I've lived in St.Maarten all my life seeing this is Awesome and yes that area in general is dangerous Good Luck.
I'm impressed. I have flown into St. Martin as a pilot on a private jet. I thought staying away from the mountain on takeoff was sporty.
Simpson Bay is home sweet home!! 💓
Very skilled Captain. 😊
😂 $5 is fair, our heaving line fine if you miss on the 1st go is a case of beers. 🍻
Awesome vid. 😎
Yeah same!!
...And according to Bullit, there is no such thing as free beer...?
Same on that one! I case for every line that goes in!
Stumbled on your channel. Best videography and post production I’ve seen on youtube in a long time! Good content and well edited.
Thanks so much for that comment!! Makes me happier that it should haha
Couldn't agree more.
Efficient teamwork! Well done all. Great drone footage. Thanks for sharing
In the 70's, We would bring a pie, or ten bux, up to Mr Browns house to make an appointment for the bridge. I sculled my enginless sloop through a few times.
oo you added becca to the intro, I love to see it
You are so cool... The music is good for
Nice driving Lord Luke!
We have electricity back and it's good to see another video. Enjoyed seeing Becca's smile at 0:30 and glad you put her in the intro. Also glad captain Luke had no problem with the bridge (docking looked to be trickier). Looking forward to the next one!
That was as smooth as fresh churned butter!
Great photography as always, Jared... great content, too.
Good job
Súper captain , perfect.
I have really enjoyed this journey with crew!! Well done getting through the bridge!!! Docking was really close! Love from Vermont
Went in&o of this cut in the fall of 1990!. As I recall we had to pull up our fenders to make it through. The problem was being locked inside the lagoon for 7 days. There was a general strike called over France wanting to remove the islands duty free status. Beside that it was a nice place to be holed up!
Nice to see a video again!
Brilliant shots 👌🏾🇿🇦
Could You please make a video about looks engeeniers work day at yachts? And I very like your yacht content btw. Cheers.
Yes, i'm also veeeery interested in engineers job on board :-)
Great video!
I'm sure the boat owner appreciates showcasing the crew's skills! Keep posting great content!
Great 👍
Jared, as always:
Great content, great clips, great editing, I just finished the whole "Bella-Series" and I really enjoyed watching the episodes.
I told you that a while ago, but I simply have to repeat it: You are an awesome talent when it comes to filming and editing, and watching the whole "Bella-Series" I guess everybody will agree on that: You're an awesome storyteller too.
So, I hope we will see many many clips from Motoryacht Bella and to you and the whole crew: Stay safe, stay healthy my friend!
Kind regards from Germany,
Philipp
Watched the Steve Jobs (wife's) 370 footer go through the St. Martin bridge. About 12" clearance on either side!!
Lol, I saw the intro and instantly subscribed
Whew! Glad you made it through St. Martens. The suspense was killing me. Can you name any of the boats that didn’t make it through safely?
Thanks for the wishes. A light google and you'll see a few videos of crashes
Outstanding !!! Jared .. Great content as always !!
Chew on raw Ginger root prior to getting underway, it helps the stomach stay calm.
I feel so sorry...... for the bridge!
Must be nice to come into this world with no need to worry about money. 74 Chevy and my mountain bike, and drones. Yachts....? While I drool and sleep!
Looks like you have a great crew there. Great job getting through the bridge.
My Island in the sun, we welcome you to lovely SXM!!
AH love these videos!!!!! Wish to be in that weather 😁😁
Awesome cutscenes😍
0:17 - Captain: "That bridge takes out some of the best."
0:21 -- Yacht: 1 - Bridge: 0
I'd call that the yacht taking out the bridge, not the other way around.
Awsome Job
Well done!
I took my 24' beam sailing cat through an ICW draw bridge with two lifting pieces where only one side was able to open (maintenance on one side). I asked the bridge tender what the width from the tip of the down piece to the tip of the open piece was and he said, "I don't know, buddy, that's up to you". WTF man? As your guys said, from a distance it looks really tight but as you get closer you start to realize how much room there is. I've found the same is true for slips. I had a dockhand telling me over radio "yeah this is a 30' slip you'll be fine" and I'm looking at it from 100m away thinking "my tender won't even fit in there!"
Trevor from Northumberland, fun and informative, will be looking for more of your vids.
you got a new subscription today from 🇯🇲🇯🇲 love your content bro
Amazing, you are just up the islands from me in Trinidad.
So impressive. I get sketched out going threw on my 50ft sailboat. lol
Another great video to watch, keep it up
Thanks Archie
Video is killer, working on the water is a great way to make a living. I’m allergic to time clocks so it was an easy progression. From what I saw you did everything you are paid to do, nothing more, operating as a professional is a given. At least you aren’t expected to operate in zero visibility, great life man!
lovely!
F45 Van Lent Feadship nice "small" yacht.
Nice job Mate...
WHOA!!!
Love the video and love the channel
Love the comments! Thanks Steven!
8:49 to see the boat go through the bridge opening.
Thank you. Your time- stamp is very good for those who have short lunch-breaks lol
I think your title got auto corrected. maarten. glad you are back on yachts
All sorted now! Thanks
The best action to outwit sea sickness is to get on deck in the wind and watch the horizon. Try to get an eyeball on the captain and crew. Watch them. It’s calming. On deck outside It all goes away and the views are stupendous. The worst thing you can do is sit inside the cabin and watch everyone constantly tilt and stagger. It makes you feel helpless and scared. The hairs in your ears feel the spinning inner ear fluids as you toggle around in what seems like a non moving room. You don’t see why it’s happening. The reason is the foundation you think is solid is fluid and moving constantly. That spins and jostles the inner ear fluids and your brain tells you your falling and or are having a sever dizzy spell. When you get on deck your brain is conscious of your movement and relates it to the water and waves. Keep your eye on the horizon. Just like driving in a car. Trust me ...it works getting up on deck ...outside. Do it as often as necessary. Eventually you will relate the feeling of movement to the outside events taking place and you will relax. Then it all becomes fun again. It becomes part of the journey and not the nightmare.
It wouldn’t matter if you asked god to help you! Lamp when u sea sick .... u are sea sick’ some people take days to recover from it. Even when they are already on land ! Trust me 20 years on the ocean. Nothing works best thing u can do is lay down face up and do not move. The second u get up you are sea sick as hell again.
Another excellent video Jared - both your drone work and editing were spot on - really enjoying watching your channel grow. Curious how the Yacht Bella compares in size to the Yacht Arriance ??? Can’t wait for the next video !!!
EASY with no wind :-)
Yeah I was here to see the it crash.☹️
This was a great episode epic camera, drone and editing. Little Miss Seasick could not have been more adorable. Is she staying on (hope so) or flying home ?
Nice 👍
Top Content as always!
You got a spare Drone??
It's funny, the drone shot made it seem like you guys had LOTS of room. Funny how perceptions can be so easily distorted.
I sweat getting my in-laws 21ft bay boat back into an easy slip . . .
DAMN..
Lol..actually can’t fly a drone at all in Simpson bay or the lagoon
What sort of things are in those alphabetical books behind the helm? Are they manuals?
Probably maritime laws and regulations! I’d like to see the actual navigation charts they keep and just how many there are.
Awesome, Just watched a few vids on Lord Luke Hammonds channel. Love how more and more sea-men(and women) document the life at sea. As always super video Jared. You Rock.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah more and more are doing it now! Its good news for the industry in my opinion.
How do you even get into the yacht industry?
They could do with a pair of tugboats at these marinas, they charge enough for a berth.
Ego ! what was the point of all that, Ego ! Ar that was it.
Thanks no crash
Great video. Loved the content. Had just watched the video by another RUclipsr about the M/Y GO mishap in St. Maarten. Definitely had clinched butt cheeks watching this. Great content as always.
What camera do you use?
What happens to aging crew - people over 40? Is it just a very short career or do they move to related jobs?
What are your feelings when your going thru this bridge and there’s other smaller boats next to you going thru also?
Can you imagine how many views you would have if you guys hit it?
How do you go through there when you have strong wind on the beam?
Speed and thrusters
Are you on below deck
I hate going through there with a wide Cat.
Skipper did not put engine into reverse gear soon enough, did not account for such a powerful engine. Coming in far too fast. Need to go 😫 dead slow 🐌 when coming into port mooring. Captain not experienced enough. Controlling pull back on such a powerful engine takes practice and patience especially when you have passengers and a most beautifully 😍 expensive boat 🚢
Super Yachts are basically small ships. I'm pretty sure St Maarten bridge wasn't designed to handle these oversized floating palaces owned by the percenters.
How can you be prone to seasickness & serve on a crew? That's like being afraid of heights & being a window washer on a skyscraper...
There's a difference from being _prone_ to seasickness and to _experiencing_ seasickness. As explained in previous videos, the new hires usually experience it on their first tour because the waves traveling across the ocean are much more intense than what passengers normally experience.
Is one of the boats in the background shown on Below Deck? I think the filmed there if I’m not mistaken.
Jared, did you have crew duties for this passage, or were you strictly generating media content?
Strictly media content 😊
Awesome!
Have u ever worked on or thought of working on a sailing yacht?
How do you fly that drone so we’ll have you ever severely crashed it?
You know they practically fly themselves, right? GPS and gyro stabilisers galore, return to home etc.
I have been there and never seen crash boat in it .... when entry you go straight and clear the bridge .. size shouldn’t matter as the little way in/ canal or Chenal in deep enough for you and especially if you are docking in port de plaisance .....
u comin to Puerto Rico?
So Captain, whats your reaction to crew deviating from the passage plan without your knowledge ??? May want to review masters standing orders.
Funny in a odd way you post this and then SY No has trouble 50 meters away a couple weeks later.
Super...lol
Just let me know when u start using submarines... First the water then the sky when u going deep down? Lol
