    Great video as usual.
    John can I tell you and your viewers my fix for rusting mounting screws on my HS 507c? Also, I needed bedding for the bottom of the RDS to prevent rain water seepage and debris intrusion from duty open-carry in tropical, rainy South Florida weather.
    I used BLUE Loctite initially. WAY overkill. For removal I needed to heat my whole optic with a heat gun to soften the Blue to remove such tiny , mounting screws. No good. Black oxide coating on screws works poorly....no good. The heads quickly rusted...badly.
    Solution:
    1) PURPLE low strength Loctite specifically made for small screws
    2) TEF GEL for bedding the RDS. Ordinarily I would use Loctite Blue or green 620. But that is for gas blocks or gas tubes or barrel extensions that rarely need to be removed. High heat from heat gun IS OK for situations like that(no electronics involved). Tef Gel is magic in a tube. I used this a LOT in my marine employment . I still use it on my car in some applications. And on my AR15 in specific applications. Just smear a thin even coat on all mounting surfaces. Wipe any excess off after tightening. Tef Gel WILL NOT SEEP!
    3) SS screws! The screw heads are smaller but these still work perfectly for my HS507c in a dedicated RMR cut on my Brownells slide. Precise fit. SS screws and now BEDDED with Tef Gel.

      Do not be afraid to use the Tef Gel in other areas like automotive. I inject some Tef Gel into my rubber brake bleed caps. I am tired of all the rust on my bleeder screws on my Brembo Brakes on my E46 M3. It should keep my bleeder screws from rusting for years.
      Think of it as a thicker, stay in place, non-metallic never seize, and corrosion preventer.

      Even my expensive aftermarket tritium night sights from all major companies are Black Oxide coated. Black Oxide coat3ing for ANY gun part should be outlawed. Black Oxide seems to give metal the same protection as a Sharpie.

    Hey just picked up one of these to test out today. The one thing I’m really worried about is windage adjust is by moving the optic itself left and right. It doesn’t move the reticle. Seems like it will make it feel off center.

    If your not watching the NFL, MLB, or NBA, then make sure you don't gamble sports. Starve the NFL, MLB, and the NBA from all profits. Drop ESPN, stop tuning into your local sport stations. Do everything you can to send a clear message to professional athletes, that their fans make it possible for them to live like kings. Tired of them dividing our country, creating division where their isn't any. Speaking as though they are authority figures, when their nothing but athletes with barely a high school education.

      That goes for any holo optic as it uses a laser instead of an LED.

    • @xxfire07
      @xxfire07 4 года назад

      Victor Poliashov battery life on Holosuns are much better. You get between 30,000 to 50,000 hours of batter life on continuous use on medium stetting. As opposed to this optic 1500 hours of battery life. That’s why Vortex and most reviewers don’t talk much about this.

    • @mart2224
      @mart2224 4 года назад +4

      @@xxfire07 And holosun are made in China, are LED, and are generally considered budget optics. Also, don't compare holographic sights to LED. They're not the same thing (at all) and have different attributes that are better for different situations. When you discard a holographic by saying "battery life is better on a holosun," you're basically saying "I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, but I own a holosun so it must be better." It's not better. It (holosun) is different and works, generally speaking, better for a budget minded person who wants to have something close to (emphasis on 'close to') an aimpoint. That's all fine, no judgement there... Just try to do some research before you rip on something that you clearly don't know a lot about.

    • @xxfire07
      @xxfire07 4 года назад

      Timothy Martin First of all where in my comment did you read that I didn’t know that this was a holographic sight?? I’m waiting??? I said that the battery life sucks and that’s a fact. You say don’t compare this optic to a budget optic. Really??? I’m the consumer so I am going to compare because it’s my money. I will compare them because at any price point this doesn’t do for me what I want it to do. I would not buy this optic if it were $199. Why because the battery life sucks. That’s why. People compare Budget guns to Glocks all the time. Maybe you should go comment on thousands of videos comparing budget guns to Glocks and tell them they don’t know what they are talking about. I have 8 years on active duty and currently 20 years federal laws enforcement. The optic I purchased for my personal rifle was an Aimpoint because it’s what we use on our duty rifles. After buying Holosun I never looked back at Aimpoint.
      Oh did I mention The reticle sucks on that Vortex too. But I guess you will say I’m not allowed to say that either because it’s a holographic optic.

    • @mart2224
      @mart2224 4 года назад +2

      @@xxfire07 I see full well your argument. You dropped in solely to say "battery life sucks, and I bought a holosun and it works great so it's the best." That's about as helpful to the new buyer as a fudd can get, TBH. It provides little value and attempts to create one factor for superiority. It would have been more helpful to say, "the battery life is a lot shorter on these, so if that's your primary concern, it's not a great choice."
      Honestly, I don't really care whether you're in law enforcement or not. I don't know you. Just because you're in law enforcement doesn't necessarily mean you're good at your job. I certainly hope you are, but you saying it on here doesn't thrust you into trustworthiness. I've seen lifetime LEO's who are atrocious at their jobs. Again, not saying that's you, but it's prevalent. I've been shooting and training for about 30 years and have experience with all the different optics (trijicon, aimpoint, holosun, sig, eotech, vortex, Leupold... And on...), so can we put the credentialing aside and talk facts? After all of those optics, I prefer eotech for what I do. Does that mean you're wrong and I'm right? No. You made a choice on your optic, it works really well for you, and that's great.
      They're simply two different optics with different operating systems. Each has its pros and cons and each is substantially better than the other in different attributes. It's a well known fact that these have a substantially shorter battery life, because it runs on lasers and not LED. It also has absolute zero parallax error (unlike aimpoint or holosun), magnifies like a FFP without enlarging the center dot, has clearer glass, a wider field of view, and is slightly faster for target acquisition. Those are facts. If you need battery life to be in the years on a patrol rifle, it's definitely not the optic for you. Really long battery life doesn't matter to everyone. If you want lightest, smallest footprint on the weapon, it's not your optic. If you want fastest optic that magnifies really well, holosun/aimpoint aren't your optics. That's great that you don't like the reticle, millions of people do like eotech style reticles, and they're not wrong for that preference.
      Anyway, have a nice day.
