Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy, original lead singer of Duran Duran. This is about Duffy's girlfriend who worked at Barbarellas Bar in 1978 and the house band he created to play the Bar.

Welcome to one example of what Duran Duran might well have sounded like had Stephen Duffy stayed as lead singer, instead of leaving (to be replaced by Andy Wickett and finally Simon LeBon). A beautiful, sublime, nostalgic song that is the highlight of the overlooked gem that is 2002's Dark Circles, the Devils' (Nick Rhodes and Duffy) only album (in which they revisit the songs they wrote together at the dawn of Duran Duran (1978).

Much of the rest of the album is darker and more dance oriented, but equally worthwhile. If you are a fan, you are missing an important and revealing part of Duran Duran's history if you don't have this as well as the Andy Wickett demos!

It's Stephen Duffy, the original lead singer of Duran Duran, later to gain fame as Tin Tin with the song Kiss Me (with your mouth...) and then become a critical darling for his work with his group The Lilac Time and solo releases. This album is his and Nick's return to the songs and sounds of that earliest incarnation of Duran Duran, when it had been just him on bass and vocals, Nick Rhodes on keyboards and rhythm box, and Nigel (John) Taylor on guitar.
