Hey everyone! We hope you’ve been enjoying our trip to England and this very video caps off that leg of the trip. BUT- our European adventure isn’t over and the next ones coming will be in France! Words cannot describe what’s to come in this videos so just stay tuned. Literally, one of the most incredible things to ever happen to me as a herpetologist comes to fruition and I’m stoked to share it with you all. Stay tuned, thanks for the amazing feedback and happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! Chris
Everytime a new GST video comes out it makes me so happy. From the upbeat music, to the positive nature of Casey and Chris, and of course the incredible information, it just brightens my day!
Every time I see a Marginated tortoise it makes me want one even more! Maybe one day but for now I am raising up my lawn mower (baby sulcata) and he's doing great! Thank you for all that you do and sharing an in depth look into this amazing facility!
That place is huge!! I hope it never shuts down I hope they have volunteers and people that work there and lots of customers lots and lots of customers!!❤❤❤❤❤
Chris.. First of all happy Father's Day to you! You are such a lucky blessed man you deserve all the happiness in the world 🌍 Thank you for taking us on another Turtle 🐢 adventure! It's so wonderful to see people on the other side of the world taking care of their turtles & rescues. Like you said it's so interesting to see what is available in food & plants & how they're enclosures look. All the people seem friendly which is lovely. I can't wait to see where you're going to take us next. Enjoy your 🐢 vacation❤
Chris and Casey....first of all...Chris, Happy Father's Day!. I am watching the video and I am truly engaged in the lives and behavior of these beautiful creatures. I had a quarter sized store bought turtle with the plastic " island" container with a plastic palm tree. That was 60 years ago, and I'm so embarrassed that I grew up not really knowing the correct needs and behavior of my pet. 😢. Of course, that was prior to social media, viral videos ...etc. I must say , I've learned more useful knowledge from your channel ( a a few select rescuers) than I did getting my 2 PhDs.! Thank you. 😇❤️🐢🐢🐢
I feel like I have been on a great adventure, even though I’m not actually there! Thanks for showing us these amazing places in England. I can only aspire to create such a spectacular natural environment for my hope-to-get one day tortoises. Thanks, guys! Sending hugs from Texas.
What a beautiful place, and all the beautiful turtles and tortoises. And all the animals you have.and up keep you do to keep them happy.gods bless all you do.
That lady's backyard all that brick keeps it warm in the winter too. I like how she grew all the prickly pear for the tortoises to eat!! I like that Russian tortoise you picked up. I didn't think it was very big.
In the winter it needs to be cold for these species but the brick wall certainly helps in summer. That Russian was very big compared to the thousands that are sold in the American pet trade as adults when they are only 4-5”.
Yeah i think GST needs Hartley Greenhouses like "Garden Answer" has ! I think it would be great for the large tortoises and the cold frames on the front would be great for hatchlings or even pancake tortoises or Egyptians
You should know in my opinion the tortoises come out after the winter rains and enjoy all that low greenery in the cool weather. When it gets too arid, they go hide themselves. Thus all that greenery should make them very happy, walking around eating.
me and my partner go to swallow aquatics every weekend and we got our two baby hermanns from barbara!! this certainly put a smile on both of our faces 😊
Seriously inspirational stuff. You reckon someone could set up one of those conservatories for redfoot tortoises? Not sure how you'd keep the humidity high year round and avoid mould.
Hello, its Frank Bonin who gave me passion during classes on turtles, congratulations to your RUclips channel. What product do you use for the shells? coconut?
My hermanns makes lots of cute little chirping noises. Is it because she is lonely? She is 3yrs old and in a large indoor enclosure. In an area away from the busy part of the house.
@@GardenStateTortoise Hey 👋 😁 thanks for the response literally first response I’ve ever got in youtube from a channel I follow and it’s worth it awesome love your channel !!!! 🐢🐢🐢🐢💚💚💚💚🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I’ll tell ya what, you travel to 2 different countries and spend 14 days hauling over 100 lbs of camera equipment on internal flights, overnight ferries, miles of hiking, endless car rides and through dozens of facilities plus a two day conference, and then (and only then) you can tell Casey how or what to film. 😉
Hi Chris. Great video once again. I was just wondering if UV from the sun actually does penetrate and go though the glass of that converted conservatory that was made into a tortoise enclosure. If UV from the sun can then that is amazing
I loved the video, thank you so much. I have a question though as one of my tortoises has just suffered a bite from a dog. Do you not have foxes int he UK? What predators do you tortoises have and how are they protected as I don't see any cover for your beautiful enclosure?
Thank you for your videos I really enjoy them. Why does my male Herman’s tortoise when outside in a pen half acre go along sides and always look for. Way out he’s now 8 years old he rarely walks in middle of yard mainly along sides seeing if he can escape? He has a ton of room I just give him like 3 hours a day in summer outside

Hope you enjoyed it!
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels! I enjoy all the education so much! Thank you for doing what you do❤

Luckily we don’t need big greenhouses because of our weather here but it would be cool to eventually build something just to enjoy.
I just put this pet shop on my bucket list. Have to visit. Thanks for sharing.
You should!
Happy tortugas 😂😂😂😂🎉🎉😂they are a handme down pet life line is 100 years or more bless the tortoise peoples 😊😊🎉😊

Thank you and most likely looking for a female.
I think I missed what this place was called?
Swallow Exotics
It's Swallow Aquatics Rayleigh (I think there was an autocorrected error there) you're probably best of not googling Swallow Exotics 😂
Cool man 💀
But which Swallow Aquatics? I need to go
Swallow Aquatics Rayleigh
I miss otis.
Sadly I can’t go there cause it’s in the United Kingdom 🫤
Great video
Thanks!
Happy Father’s Day!
