Chicago was my dream city, but after a few years, I figured out what didn't satisfy me.
It's Midwest culture and segregation! I liked Chicago's real estate, but socially, there was something missing.
It's a segregated city, and there's no meeting places that bring the people together. I was a young guy looking for fun in downtown Chicago after work on the weekend. There were no clubs to party and hang out in downtown Chicago. Nice looking city but kind of boring for a city that size. If Chicago wasn't a segregated city, I think it would be a lot more exciting socially.
That's what keeps Chicago clean.

I think people from Chicago make too much of it. Perhaps it was an exciting city during AL Capone days.
I just thought it would be fun socially.
It's just weird that there's no central meeting place for Chicago's population.
Toronto compares very well with Chicago, and that's a fun city.
Chicago has nice real estate and a nice lake front, but a bit slow socially and a downtown only for business and shopping. Weird, it's just weird.
