  • Feeling very thankful today. The term had its ups and downs for sure, but rewatching this footage reminded me of how grateful I am for the people that I've met along my journey and for the privilege of studying at Dartmouth. A year ago I fantasized about in-person classes and "normal" Dartmouth, and I can say confidently that fall term was truly a special experience. Here's just a slice of my fall term with footage form the last week on campus.
May your day be filled with joy.
    Love,
    Anaïs

Hi, my twin sister and I are thinking about applying to Dartmouth ED next fall and we will be applying as CS majors. We would like to know more about what it is like to be a girl in the CS department there. We would really appreciate any information you are willing to share with us. Thanks so much!

Hi there! So excited that you're be applying to Dartmouth!
Though I am not a CS major, I have taken CS1 and 10 (intro to programming in python, and object oriented programming in java) and have had positive experiences in both courses. I've enjoyed working on fun projects such as animating a solar system and crafting a machine-learning type tool to identify the parts of speech for words in a sentence. Also, there are frequent office hours and opportunities to meet with teaching assistants and the professors. The department offers a wide variety of courses and you can check them out here:dartmouth.smartcatalogiq.com/en/current/orc/Departments-Programs-Undergraduate/Computer-Science.
      Hope that helps!

@@anaisz5835 Thank you so much! This was really helpful and I appreciate you taking all this time to be so descriptive. That machine-learning course sounded really cool! The professors seem really nice and thanks for the link.
