Over the past two years I have looked at your awesome videos and enjoyed your learned commentaries ábout my first adopted country Grenada and birthplace of my parents.😮 I now live in Jamaica and have been for most of my life after leaving Grenada for the UWI. I consider myself a true Caribbean person having been born in Trinidad, and lived in Grenada where I attended the GBSS. Sadly, my brother who lived in Morne Jaloux for most of his life passed away recently. My son who is in his 50s attended his funeral. I am in my 82nd year and hoping to see once again the most beautiful Island in the Caribbean. Thanks for the memories through your vídeos.
Great coverage of the Kawana Bay fiasco. Many thanks from a Friend of the Flamboyant. We spent happy times under those trees on the beach, now sadly leafless.
Yes, its funny when you take a space for granted then one day its gone. That end of the beach was nice and lush with the overgrowth. Thanks for watching! 😄
I hope the building doesn’t go to waste. To be honest, I think Grenada already has enough hotels as it is. Grenada is just a small island. It isn’t London or New York City (UNNATURAL CONCRETE CITY). Does the island really need another hotel?
Stop posting crap... We need 1 million hotels if we can attract 200 million tourists. We need a country where we don't have to travel to make a future.
Another fabulous video Kriss! Curious to know why exactly....that is a disservice to the citizens of Grenada. The views are spectacular and would hate to see this go to waste.
Hi there, it would be good to know exactly what the dispute is is about, hearing from what you have read it appears quite vague, you are doing a great job information wise, please keep us updated.
I love how informative your vlogs are . Thank you for sharing because I didn’t even know all that . I thought the resort near bbc beach would be finish by now tho
Most of the time. It is also the safest island in the Caribbean. My market vlog might give you a clue to the cost of living ruclips.net/video/liDDxwZ_f-k/видео.html
Why didn't the government build it themselves. Why is Grenada giving non Grenadians citizenship when it's 100x harder for Grenadians to get citizenship in other countries. Great video once again.
This is the same question I've been asking myself for a few years now; just around the time the government was selling citizenship to Chinese and other country nationals who had/have the $$$$$$ to pay for it, and giving them visa free ristrictions to travel to so many other countries in the world as a Grenadian citizen; when in fact they would NOT have been able to do so from their own country. Therefore tarnishing the name and reputation of Grenada and Grenadians in the process. It's very disheartening to know that as a born and raised Grenadian, I was denied a new/renew passport in 2006; I was on the island caring for my sick mum at the time. The fees I paid were refunded to me but my old passport was never returned after they denied my application. Their reasoning, they could not prove my citizenship in Canada, even with my documentation; therefore, they could not accept them. Didn't know what my Canadian citizenship had to do with me renewing or getting a new Grenadian passport!! SHAMEFUL!! I was even threatened with legal action for speaking out against the CBI scheme program when born Grenadians were being severely interrogated and denied their RIGHT to a passport. The officer said I was slandering the name of Keith Mitchell and his government. Since then, I've only been back two times, but as a Canadian citizen when in fact I have dual citizenship. I would never give up or surrender my Grenadian Identity or lineage; and I do not fancy being embarrassed for a second time over what is my RIGHT as a Grenadian. Like you've said, how come the government isn't building all these projects themselves? Why aren't local Grenadians given contracts and jobs to build up the Tri-Island state? Are our people not skilled enough; educated enough; strong enough; and are willing to work hard to feed themselves and their families? Instead they give these foreign nationals the money, contracts, and jobs to build, then after completion, employ Grenadians for way less than minimum wages and turn them into slaves with the hours working conditions and dictatorial management. I do hope this new government pull-up their socks and do better by and for the people.
@@spiceegalexisg5500 I'm so sorry you went through that and to some extent are still going through it. My parents were born in Grenada, so I got a passport on my mother's birth certificate. I was burgled and my id papers were stolen. When I called the Grenada embassy the person on the phone was so rude and he got me so mad that I said "you can keep your passport" or words to that effect and I never did bother to get a new one. I'm so tired of these governments and their intimidation tactics. You should speak up about your experiences because the corruption and incompetence needs exposing, These so called "officials" should not be getting away with what they're getting away with. I think you should try again for your passport and get in contact with the local councillor of the parish you come from. Because it's a new government, maybe, just maybe they will fulfill the promises made to the people, the Grenadians that voted them into office. I'm from the UK. My cousins who live in Grenada have children in Canada. I went once February/March and I've never known cold like it. Never hahaha. London is not that cold, not that biting cold anyway. How do Caribbean people manage the Canadian winters? LOL. Good luck and all the best in all that you do and you will get your Grenada passport, it's your right.
The Grenadian government are not in control. The island is colonized. Many of its original land owners were murdered by hybrid Europeans. Don’t forget what happened to their former prime minister Maurice Bishop.
@@cherylmart6338 Cheryl, when you say many of the original land owners were murdered by hybrid Europeans, are you referring to the same European slave owners or the slaves that bought the lands from their masters after slavery was abolished? After the abolishion of slavery, and much resistance, ventually most of the estate lands were divided up and sold to the slaves? So you need to clarify your statement. My family still own the lands purchased from our slave masters (whose last name we still carry because our African names, culture and identity were thrown into the sea like some of our captured brothers and sisters during the Trans Atlantic voyages); and the land have been passed down through the generations. By-the-way, we all know what happened to Maurice Bishop, I was still there on the island; but what does lands got to do with me being denied my right to a passport from my birth country? Your comment suggest you're NOT a Spice gal🇬🇩, yeah?
@@GRTVO My friend, sometimes I feel so embarrassed as a Grenadian at the level of stupidity and ignorance that's portraited by some nationals, especially in government offices. The passport office employees are supposedly police officers; but their demeanors are worse than hogs. They try their best to make Grenadians feel so worthless and undeserving. I had to ask a female employee, "did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, with a mission that has my name on it?" Go tell whomever sent you, you couldn't find me, cause I'm the wrong one to mess with. She had to leave the counter. I know we sometimes need to put a little honey ahead of us in order to catch those annoying flies; but they intentionally find ways around the honey just so they can be buzzers in your ears; so what should we do, but swat them silly and reset their brain matter. Before plandemic, I was in England every year up to January 2019, twice in 2018. I found it really hot 🔥during the winter there, I was going everywhere in a light autumn jacket while my family and friends were complaining of how cold it was. Not 1one drop of snow🌨❄🌬, ha 😂. I think it's depressing without snow 🌨❄ especially at Christmastime. What part of Canada🍁did you visit? Come visit this winter, it doesn't seem like it's going to be too cold and by the way, I cannot speak for others but I manage the cold well enough. The trick is layers, below or as we say -40°C lined winter boots, Mittens, and hat; you're all set. I'm in Ontario, close to T. O.
