as an....editor (especially an ae editor) I can say with 100% CERTAINTY. that making an edit of **that** skill level takes a crazy amount of time, effort + dedication. not to even mention motivation and persaverance also add on the fact that Lauren is at an Ivy League college?? like??? how much time must she be taking OUT OF HER STUDIES just to make an edit because she values her fanbase/the editing community or just loves editing in general

I didn't even know these kinds of templates were on capcut, since I myself is a after effects editor and in ae you have to create pretty much everything from scratch unless you use other peoples presets or pfs.

The saddest part is that even if they take it down, CapCut allows people to save a template to go back to it and “edit” it. So people probably saved and it and could still upload it.

In cap cut, they actually write the names in who created the template, so when you open a template, the person who had created it is mentioned below the template.

But it's not fair that edits from After Effects like transition edits is turning into templates when there's no effort being made to even edit and all of it is just there in a template and it blows up immediately. I don't care what anyone says, I personally think that you should be paid some sort of royalties, or given some form of compensation. Not only this, but I believe that the template should be fully removed. Another thing I'd like to say is that you really need to stop being passive aggressive and just point blank say what you think should happen, this isn't a "you make your own conclusions" type thing, this is a "I just got robbed, please help" thing.

it’s so sad that CapCut took it , it’s an ae edit which Lauren made , originally , which is so unfair. People use the template and use Lauren’s original work which she DIDNT approve of it being used.

hi Lauren! im so sorry that this happend! as a small capcut editor i cant imagine how this feels, i mean someone did steal my edit before but its not the same. im so sorry that capcut is doing this. it has changed alot and i heard that they are coming out with a pro version, i dont know what to say.Again im so sorry :(
in the original you could literally see the “lauren” on the pacman but in the template they removed it..

As a editor. this isn’t acceptable to steal a edit and repost it as ur own without ANY credits.
I mainly use alight motion, but the only reason Capcut templates are useful are for finding audios that’s it 😭 if you are going to post a edit at least make it yourself
Yes exactly!! I usually only even use those templates just to mess around on the app, I don’t actually ever post them. If you’re gonna post edits and claim it’s yours you actually have to make it
I don't care what anyone says, I personally think that you should be paid some sort of royalties, or given some form of compensation.
Not only this, but I believe that the template should be fully removed. Another thing I'd like to say is that you really need to stop being passive aggressive and just point blank say what you think should happen, this isn't a "you make your own conclusions" type thing, this is a "I just got robbed, please help" thing.

CapCut is starting to become the villain. Editors dedicating HOURS on end to deliver an edit, only to have it withdrawn by a cheap software for its benefit. It just belittles a creators work and talent. How draining.
I feel bad for all you editors, Including CapCut editors, because now your talent is being sold for a five second template. Editing is real skill, so for CapCut to be instigating this is an actual slap in the face.
We should all ask capcut to delete that person's templates, they've stole multiple edits including yours

as a capcut editor this sucks i really hope you can get your edit off there. I'd like to mention that capcut themselves don't make the templates. The users on capcut upload templates. Which i still think it's capcut job to monitor what templates people upload on the app. But i will say you should try to contact the person who uploaded the template and ask them to take it down. My heart goes out to you and i hope you can get the template taken down.

I completely recreated that edit on CapCut, no template, and people still accused me of using the template. Ig that’s good for me tho lol cuz they think mine looks as good as the original thing
It’s important to give credits though. If you remake an edit, you shouldn’t pass it off as your own original idea

I believe that non-editors do not understand how it feels to comment on a video that took hours to create and on which you are required to provide proof that you created it. I feel as though I am wasting my time by doing so by providing you with evidence that we editors do not need to.

so sorry Lauren. I remember seeing that and being so mad. It's very irritating. Editing is a very difficult ability to master since as an editor on AE/other editors produce theirs by hand, therefore it is very difficult when people just make templates of other people's edits and basic ones. pretty annoying Even well-known content creators simply add it and are finished. Anyways all editors that make things from scratch from any program, stay strong and proud you are amazing
capcut doesn't make templates, users do. an editor makes an edit and then they upload it as a template so please dont blame capcut
