Love what you said. I have been in sca for 30 years and seen a lot of what you said. One that I like is someone who except you and stays out of clicks.
There was a quote from a Mike from Epic Empires in England that has resonated with me for years, "You are the NPC to everyone else's storyline." Either in Larp or real life this rings true. If you want to make an impact in your game or in real life, try to be that essential and unforgettable NPC to everyone around you. That to me is profound. Instead of thinking of your own self-centered story (real life or Larp) you refocus on other people being the center of that story. The question now is...how will you set those adventurers on the trail of adventure?
I just joined my local Amtgard group but I have no LARP experience besides working at the local professional haunted attraction for the past 9 years and as Santa Claus for the past 4 years. I mean, it is RP lol. My interest, as I told the group, isn't in being a combatant but rather a NPC, non-combatant story teller/character. Someone to help move the story along. I assume there are players who are solely dedicated to this but I'm having a difficult time finding any content on this very specific non-combatant NPC story teller/actor type. Most, if not all, of the material I've seen involves NPC and combat, but combat doesn't really appeal to me as much as the acting and story telling. Are there resources for this?
Hey! So Amtgard is inherently an PVP game where teams of players do battle against each other. There are aspects of the game that are PVE (what you seem to be talking about), but they are normally sectioned off to certain events or parts of events. The baseline of Amtgard is PVP, that is how it is marketed and what the majority of the player base expects. There is 100% room in Amtgard for RP heavy PVE, but the resources for it are going to be slim because it is not a major part of the average Amtgarder's experience. I would check out some facebook groups like Amtgard Smiths Guild and see if that is the kind of stuff you are looking for.
@@aroundthefiremediaThanks for the reply. I'll check the Smith Guilds out. i saw an announcement for an event coming up in November so I'll be looking to get involved in some way with that. We'll see. I'll let you know. Thanks again.
Being logically consistent, showing up to play the game, and being new player friendly is foam fighting focused? Foam games are my main of course, but these qualities are also what I look for in all the non foam games I play also.

This is all very, very foam fighting/Boffer sport focused.
