In August 2019, we went to Valley of Flowers, Uttarakhand. This gem of nature's beauty is located in Chamoli district, about 4 km from Ghangharia village. We reached Haridwar by bus, and from there took 10 hours drive to Joshimath. From there we went to Govindghat and started a 10 km trek to Ghangharia. The next day, we started the trek to Valley of Flowers. Don't miss this beautiful place and share your feedback.

About Valley of Flowers -
Valley of Flowers National Park is an Indian national park, located in North Chamoli, in the state of Uttarakhand and is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora. This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, musk deer, brown bear, red fox, and blue sheep.
Valley of flowers is house to over 500 different species of flowers. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. The place was little known to the outside world due to its inaccessibility. In 1931, Frank S. Smythe, Eric Shipton and R.L. Holdsworth, all British mountaineers, lost their way while returning from a successful expedition to Mt.Kamet and happened upon the valley, which was full of flowers. They were attracted to the beauty of the area and named it the "Valley of Flowers." Frank Smythe later authored a book of the same name.
Just a request to all the tourists, whenever you visit , please don't forget to keep these godly places clean, don't throw garbage. It's extremely hard to clean these places due to their height and distance from cities and populated places. Keep HP, UK, Kashmir, sikkim, Meghalaya clean guys.

My first trek to valley of flower & Hemkund Sahib was in September 1974.When few people used to go there.No tea stalls no dhaba,we had to totally depended on the Gurudwara for our food & lodging but the place was pristine & heavenly, free of garbage. Watching your beautiful video took me down the memory lane.Thanks

I visited the Valley of Flowers In 1981 as a part of the Mount Rataban Expedition Team. Our base camp was set up in the northern end of the valley and stayed there for 17 days.
Thus explored the valley thoroughly.

Wow my hometown chamoli garhwal 😍😍.. really I'm blessed.... my uttrakhand is simply heaven....clean water simple good healthy environment and hard-working people is the true beauty of my janamabhumi "devbhumi" .... 🙏🙏...( Must visit rudranath in chamoli district one of the 5 panch kedar.....it's specialty is that it is the only temple of Lord shiva in a human form in his rudra avatar ).....but don't forget to take warm clothes with u even in June July due to its cool weather .❤️❤️
I lost my way to Uttarakhand and found my way out in life. It was awesome. Didn't take winter clothes properly for a February.
