Film companion have you lost the plot? I’m sorry but even if Jhanvi Kapoor is a “fun person” to interview, as curators of good cinema you need to do better than this and use your platform to actually promote talent that has shown their mettle vs. this perennially upcoming/promising star that Jhanvi Kapoor has been touted to be for 5 years now without much to show for it in reality. As a genuine fan of your past work FC, my comments are not trolling but genuine feedback.

Absolutely agree with you. Alia Byatt had given hit after hit recently but she never acknowledged and have had any solo interview more recently. My observation is not wrong, as I believe.
I'm not a troll or a hater and I'm not saying that I have any problem with FC doing this interview with Janhvi. Best wishes for her.
But there are dozens of actors who are way more talented and underrated, imo, who deserve such platfrom. So here's hoping that someday FC would give them an opportunity like this, to talk about their craft.

Yes, FC should plan for a good roster of interviews and announce it saying coming up interviews with so and so. I also liked this one as I like Jahnvi Kapoor. She is smart and sorted. Love her maturity and how well she can articulate without sounding like a snobbish intellectual
In no time the comment section will be filled with the PR led "she's improved so much & is doing female meaty roles atleast unlike many others, she's choosing amazing scripts." Yes sir /ma'am she's boney kapoor's daughter & being able to push the narrative that shes a good actor by being able to hunt down good scripts while still not being able to emote one single emotion onscreen is her biggest privilege. I completely agree with you. Just adding to that, I do feel that Alia still got to where she is because she had the privilege to experiment with different films, whereas her contemporaries like Kriti or even Taappsee either had to do so called small budget films or conventional heroine films to get to the point where they are. Alia in no movie was just a show piece which sadly a lot of women have to go through in Hindi cinema as a rite of passage. So, not taking anything away from either, I don't think they are good artists and the fact that they do not acknowledge their privilege, is not fair to the audience or other people in the business.
@@raahatmanrai648 Well actors are smart enough nowadays all thanks to PR & many get away saying yes we are privileged to which some section of naive audience assumes as the actor being down to earth. They aren't. They just need to clear their image.
As far as privileges with starkid is concerned I most audience don't have issues with Hrithik, Ranbir, Alia, Babil Khan getting roles because they are good actors. There are offcourse outsiders like Nargis too who can't act. It's not about insider outsiders but talent which Janhvi is far far away from.

It’s the world & I mean ‘commoners’ obsession with the ‘ Rich & Privelaged’ . Like the Kardasihans with zero talent , multiple surgeries letting common people see their humility & family values & follow their narrative of being unatttainable & yet relatable . I don’t know about Jhanvi’s talent yet & she’s clearly saying she’s not in it for money or fame because she already has it , her commitment to her craft then is the only telling of her being here. The question is how many ‘commoners’ will even get the collaborations she’s getting & still get to be in the industry for trying ? Loved her thoughts on women having agency. Having grown up as the obedient kid in South Asia and the moving to US as an adult, that inherent conditioning to be obedient finds me even to this day and I am constantly working on it.
You know I grew up as non obedient, in fact as a bit of a rebel and always have an answer for something and sometimes as a grown up woman now of 28 and with a bit of a some wisdom I’ve realised sometimes being obedient isn’t that bad either. There needs to be a balance. The attitude I had just got me in a little trouble, and putting someone else first instead of yourself can be good too. Sometimes one should give. I do believe it should come from everyone, not just women though.

I have seen and heard too many interviews of JKapoor, would be nice to hear from other contemporaries who are more successful career wise. I have not seen her all her movies only because I'm not yet convinced with her acting, I find her too boring. Would love to see someone like Mrunal, Tripti, Sana'a or any outside new talent. Surely FC can provide this platform to more deserving talents then these giggles Starkids
I see lot of people here not too thrilled to see Jhanavi here and I understand that too. But I think it’s good to have her here, it’s good to have different perspectives on this platform , actors of varying Calibre, background, stories. And she might not be a Tabu but she has been making brave choices and done some good work ( Gunjan Saxena , good luck Jerry). But it’s just as important to bring artists with the likes of Vikrant Massey . She’s actually quite honest and candid and it’s refreshing to hear her.

People wouldn’t have been so pissed if this was just a regular interview at FC. Instead they chose to do this in a masterclass format and Anupama herself is taking the interview. I’ve seen other interviews of lesser known actors or not ‘star/starkids’ being done by the others such as Sneha etc.
This is a huge disservice to the other actors who’ve been interviewed in this format before such as Vicky and other great, more deserving actors like Vikrant, Tripti, Tillotoma, Sanya, Shobhita and many more who’ve never been given this opportunity

Nobody for longest time knew that aamir khan has a son and daughter and how do they look. People came to know of madhavan's son only after he won a medal for India. And in ur growing up yrs starkids werent papped as much as taimur is being papped these days. Maintaining anonymity was always in your own hands. I clearly remember seeing u and ur sister on the front page of a magazine cover posing with ur mon when english vinglish released. Now what business did u guys have to star on a magazine's cover for ur mom's film release. So u guys do the photoshoots, tip the paps regarding your whereabouts and then cry over here that u were too exposed in front of the audience from a young age. We wouldnt have bothered even if we didnt know u. U wanted this. So plz stop playing this vicitim card that everybody knew everything about u even ebfore u entered films. Thats bcoz u and ur fame hungry family chose ur life to be led that way.

Sridevi started as a child actor where that's the perfect age for anyone to pick up dancing, memorizing dialogues and so on. Sridevi is a trained actor in that sense that her entire childhood was just perfecting her craft.
