  • We offer a 'one stop shop': you supply us with an audio master and artwork, we take care of the rest, from cutting the master to printing sleeves and assembling your product. In our unique recording and direct-to-disc facility, Artone Studio, you can even record your music straight to lacquer or multi track.
    We are the only pressing plant in the world which has all it takes to manufacture vinyl under one roof. The factory building is 6500 m2 and houses our own recording studio and cutting and mastering rooms, galvanics, DMM production, sleeve folding and gluing machines, vinyl pressing, packaging and a print shop: one address for your complete high-end vinyl production.
    Record Industry is situated in the Waarderpolder, an industrial area in Haarlem, very near to Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport.
    Soundtrack: Violin Concerto, Op. 35 - Allegro moderato 20 - Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky)
    Thomas Sanderling, London Symphony Orchestra, Linus Roth (violin). Taken from the album 'Violin Concertos' Linus Roth | London Symphony Orchestra | Thomas Sanderling. Released on Challenge Vinyl.

    I love vinyl. I hope it will come back strong someday. There is nothing like waiting at the music store for a new record to come out. And then you had the new record with the cover and the sleeves in it. The art that went into a lot of them was awesome. And the sound is much better than what they have out there today. When you had an album, you had something.

      I think it has come back. Young uns were searching for it and finding its benefits.
      Always look for original masters, not the kenky 80's compressed remasters.

    Thank you for being one of the (if not the best) best and most consistent pressing plants. All of my MOV pressings you press are always near perfect. RI is magnitudes betters than all American plants (RTI/QRP) and most European plants (optimal, GZ, etc)

    Astounding the complexity of the machinery and all the steps it takes to press a record. That one machine, had a hydraulic cylinder that looks like in belongs on a ship building gantry crane.
    When I was a kid a tv drama we were watching involved a singer. The plot had them “making a record”. During the commercial break I was so excited to see them making the plastic discs. Imagine my disappointment when the story shows them recording a record, as in the studio. Just boring, heavy machines, now that is what I’m interested in.

    • @bertwerbrouck
      @bertwerbrouck 2 года назад

      I don't know anything about the technicalities but as flawless as the actual records quality is, any music on vinyl reissue sound a bit lifeless to my ears (nice highs but dull bass and really poor dynamics). Might be the DMM process, might be the source, might be both... I really don't have a clue. These observations only come from my personnal experience as a listener.

    • @bertwerbrouck
      @bertwerbrouck 2 года назад

      @@holywells It's mostly a studio environnement. Not ideal but it's pleasant sounding enough and I have a lot of vinyl records that sound awesome. Others not so much. Besides, I was refering to Music on vinyl releases. There are plenty of good modern represses but it seems that most european ones (excluding pure pleasure and such) are pretty dull sounding but the quality of the pressing is flawless. It's kind of the other way around with US represses. Just my (little) experience as a record collectioner

      Yes, Record Industry indeed has a DMM lathe. They own the Music On Vinyl imprint and manufacture & master nearly all MOV releases-most of which are indeed DMM-cut.
