I love this video. It's very insightful; however, one thing it doesn't really address (and perhaps it's in the other videos). But you're basing your teams strictly on faction abilities and synergies associated with it. However, you mention the "Relic 9" GR Faction ability regarding Shatterpoint. That would mean that all five of those characters have to be r9. Meanwhile, GMY and R2 are at r8 (GMY because of JMK reqs, R2 because of Leia reqs). But more on this in a second... The Assault Battles involving POW and MQJ are encouraging those two characters to go to r9, so that you can get Droid Brains as rewards. So, if we look at what the synergy that comes with Qadme/POW/MQJ - it now seems that we need these 3 to be r9. I did agree with you that R2 needs to be with this group, so making the jump to r9 for R2 only makes sense and is resource responsible. For me, I thought it only made sense to include GMY in this group as well. It doesn't take advantage of the "shatter point" Faction ability - but this seems like the right choice. For the Luminara grouping, I put QGJ, Kelleran, Mace, and Shaak-Ti. Now, I don't plan on bringing all the Jedi to r9 - so this was the group that I settled on for r7. Shaak-Ti is already there, and I personally had Kelleran at r7 just because. Now, I would love to put Kelleran as the leader, but Luminara's healing bonuses are just too much to pass up. Because I'm settling for r7, GMY is higher that r7 - and while it's fine to be over r7 and still be in that group, my plan is to put him with Qadme. With then brings me to the 3rd Jedi group. I'm considering going against the grain and using Consular as a leader, though he doesn't specifically have the leadership role. I'm simply doing this to take advantage of a 2nd Jedi Healer in the Leadership role. With that, Aayla, Eeth Koth, Plo Koon, and Kit Fisto as the rounding out of this team. I don't see this team rising about r5 - again, it's because of the conservation of relic mats. Eeth's droid fighting abilities, Aayla's assist calling, and Consular's Jedi Healer/Leader should make adequate use of "what's left". You will notice that I didn't have KAM listed anywhere. Unfortunately, it's just not a character many people will have (me included - because my guild rotates between DS Geo and RotE. Access to KAM is just not happening, so I've written him off.) Guardian wasn't included in the LSB, and it would be a waste of relic mats to get them up to anything of value. So in the end, I sort of determined my grouping based on the amount of relic mats I want to spend to make each team happen. I'm open to thoughts and criticisms.
Yeah, i would say these squads here are what I think are the optimal or ideal version of the squads, and I probably should have clarified this myself, because I don't even think I will be using these squads. As you say, the R9 investment is going to to have a major impact on what squads actually get built and actually are used. I definitely will NOT be putting R9 on a lot of these characters. With Raids having a short shelf-life, it just doesn't make sense to put R9 on marginal characters for a 6 month investment. I think closer to the Raids release I'll cover what squads I'll actually be working with and investing in. And those relic restrictions may actually make a squad like sep droids a useful option at R5 or less. Since Nute, Maul and Sidious are already at R7 for a lot of us, if we can undersize with them that becomes a clear option, even if the point total is less than an "ideal" Nute/Sith squad. For me Luminara, KAM, GMY, Shaak, plus one that I can talk myself into, and i'll probably try to avoid relics altogether on Kit Fisto unless CG can give me another reason to do it. Kelleran, QGJ, Mace, Aayla plus one is something closer to what I'll actually be using, especially if Qadme can undersize at 4. I hope all of these can be squads of 4, i really dont want to do the questionable short-term relics. But this is also why I went through the exercise of trying to determine who we can eliminate, because I don't want to make the investment, and i'm looking to ignore as many as possible
