and all that other genius production tech step. Usual Suspects, Ed Rush + Optical. Bad Company, Dread Recordings, Trace and DSCI4 Recordings, Renegade Hardware, Anger Management,
But honestly 1999 was the best year for drum and bass raving and anyone will tell you that who was there. It’s hard to realise that this shit was 20 years ago, I listen to it and feel like there’s more variety and ingenuity in the tunes being played down anything that goes on today. I was blessed to experience this shit and anyone else who did was too. This generation doesn’t know what they are were missing ☹️. My only wish is that I could go back and do it all again.
superb mix. Andy C on Helter Skelter: Lost in Music is a good one from 99 that was my first tape pack. classic rave moment in middle The Rush Hour set someone coillapses and they stop music for medical emergency then to restart they seperate crowd into 2 sides for 2 MCs like a bit of edge "us lot vs you lot, fuck your side!" and he srops Fibre Optics - Sin which is absolute God Tier tech step tune
Shabba and IC3 get sick on this set. I rarely say anything good about MC's but this is what they are supposed to be doing! Perfect fit for Ed Rush and Optical!
around this year when Skiba's style is new and he's on his way to the top but he's still hungry. Skiba has done the best MCing I ever heard over The Nine it was rewound and he just cooked it perfectly in time double time constantly til the drop (Bad Company set at Summer Sessions)
I always thought side a was the better until I heard seizure by bad company and pretty much rinsed it and basically was sold by drum and bass. I’ve been listening to this set off and on for the better part of 17-18 yrs. I wish this set or some of the older drum and bass legendary sets could be remastered the downfall with this set is the bass it’s like it’s sorta missing at times or if anyone knows how as frequency filters to this set and boost the bass. One nation and heat 6th birthday is legendary.
@@TheCraigHudson totally right mate. I've had this set for 20 + Years and it really starts rocking when Seizure drops. Also conincides when Shabba and IC3 Go back to back. They are so good together.
Your Lucky, I have been ripping my old tape packs to mp3 and guess witch one wont play properly it slows down and the tape gets all weird One nation & Heat 6th Birthday iv managed to grab all the sets though from different sources
Favorite live mix of all time. Anyone know many people were at this massive? From the sound of the recording (the background noise the mics were picking up and the looseness of the mixing) it must have been chaos! I'm envious of anyone who got to be there. WHAT A NIGHT.
I was at this one, Prince Charles lookalike came out and got better reception than his lookalike mum who almost caused a riot 😂. One of my favourite raves, which was better than the one before which I think was the one nation album launch party when you couldn’t hear the mc’s for most of the night.
Oh my gosh! This used to be favourite live mix. Except I used to have a weird 2 part recording which somehow missed a chunk at the end! It's great to hear the whole thing now thanks, lol
Fuck me Move VIP is the darkest bumbaclaart tune. The best times. Coming out of a rave. Moschino head to toe, drenched in sweat and only half a snout and a soggy rizla left to bill a zoot.
@deegwaan mate so many. Don't get me wrong they both probably equal on the producing side but I think Ed rush the better dj.... maybe it's just koz u hear more sets from him. Every tune is a bang but kerb crawler always stands out. My favourite tune ever though is probably a bad company tune... ladies of spain
@Danny Southend United I grew up with early Virus music. Favorite for me from Ed Rush & Optical is probably Bullit. Nice pic for BC - mine would be Flashback(Tumpa), apart from the originals like The Pulse, and then Sentient and Silicon Dawn.
I used to listen to this whole pack religiously on my Sony Walkman on the train coming back from London raves :D
The BEST era for DnB! This was Bad Company's time at the top, they ruled it! Brings back some good memories, thanks for the upload!!

RIP Skibba. Thanks for playing Perth on New Years that one time :) We will always have the Great One.
One of the best sets ever. Used to listen to this in my car over and over in college. #dnb
That represents definitive the feeling of that age on dnb and jungle, listen on tapes and in clubs
99 was THE year for Drum n Bass IMO
that was the year I started raving
@@MsRadar23 same bro
Yep, year I started partying 😅
Me too 😂 what a year to start
100%
This is the mix that got me hooked on dnb back in 99 and is still one of my favorites

The beats and mixes on time and that speed is breathtaking, after exact mixes, will be one legendary sound after the other
😊😢😮😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊Pp
RIP to the legend Skibbadee 💙
was there, and it was even better live, pure rush fest
back when dnb was at its best
We were there 🙌 listening back this was the better set
@@dustinward1804 I wouldn't want echo effect on the MC every set but it really works at times eg Nasty Ways
@@ashadeofnight totally agree
Yea it’s still a 🔥 set 21 yrs later.
unreal mate. the scene isn't the same but this sound has stood tall with time past. as good a set you could ask for live with MCs.

First set I heard Skibadee. One of my favorite sets ever too. RIP Mc Skibadee
love this era of dnb, spent nearly every weekend traveling all over the south east going to raves, as we used to say back in the day it was fierce lol
Love this set, this time in the game, and all the people that love it almost 15 years later!
ReignOfGhaleon
Or indeed 25yrs later! 👊😄

I've had this set in my possession in one format or another since 99. It was playing at an after-party I was at and I was instantly in love with DnB
2024 and this set still bangs hard
Still my favorite drum n bass set!!!!
This set has made my mind up that I am buyin some technics again, super set some of the tunes big up the old skool D n B
Dark grimey and cutting edge undergeound bizniz. DnB was like an dubplate arms race back in the day.
Just bought this tape pack on eBay £9.00 old school shit ! When drum was at its best!! LIGHTER !!!!!!!!

IC3 and Shabba really do work together well on this one. Love their "call-and-response" routines inside of routines. Classic.
Pow
is that why the echo on MC or was it an effect they used they put on mic on purpose sometimes. All Skelter - Lost on Music has it
What a set this was❤
Probably top 3 for me easily. This is my Era of Jungle D&B. The Mcing is ridiculous on this one throughout. Amd. The Chunes 🔥🔥🔥
I was at this one, Prince Charles lookalike came out and got better reception than his lookalike mum who almost caused a riot 😂. One of my favourite raves, which was better than the one before which I think was the one nation album launch party when you couldn’t hear the mc’s for most of the night.
Still rockin in my bedroom!
This rave was immense
Set Espetacular esses são os Gladiador do Drumn bass tocava nos anos 90 inesquecível Drumn bass de verdade

Savage set, shabba on fire🔥🔥
RIP Skibadee
bless skibba
Remember year 2000 blasting this in highschool in my boys 92 civic with two 12's subs 🔥
Best era of DNB, today's music has none of this energy. It's got way too tame.
I love DnB from 99-01 or so too but there is some amazing stuff out today as well. You need to look harder
Muito bom lembrar os velhos tempos
RIP SKIBA
Set Espetacular esses são os papas do Drumm bass Músicas inesquecível
awesome set, and mcs makes that just perfect
it's deece but Brockie + MC DET was classic combo
I fucking love it! 😁

Heavy classic set!!
Bravo for the full upload :) epic mix :) true dnb sounds in it.

I was at this rave........ Thanks uploader
Ed Betteley Care to share any details ? I assume it might be a bit fuzzy but this is hands down my fav set from one nation.

By far the best producer and dj

people think this is new music called death grips , but death grips is this just slowed down here and there
huh? this is the untouchable genre of peak tech step darkness, all the sets were just serious vibes no cheese whatsoever. militant drum and bass
