    Hey James.
I’m enjoying the ride so far….
Planning on having a crack at it myself next year.
Can you do a bit of coverage about your bike, and your carrying set up? - the mechanics of your approach?
    Cheers in advance.

@@markpannewig2460 Hey mate, thanks for watching.. it’s an amazing ride, planning is half the fun. I do have a vid on my channel about the bike, but not really how I’m carrying things on it, a great idea!! Basically I carry all sleep-system in handlebar roll, clothes/food on rack dry bag, stove/kitchen/coffee in a dry bag on one side of rack, camp shoes on the other. Snacks/drinks on handle bar feed bags and top-tube bag. Electronics, tools, first aid, spares in frame bag. A great idea for a video, doing a weekender on the MBT later this month, a good opportunity to put something together :)

Another excellent video. Thank you. I noticed some sandy sections. How did your tyres handle the sand? You seemed to cross quite a number of water courses. How much water do you carry? Can I count on being able to fill up my water bladders and bottles from re-supply points? Or will I need to filter water and add tablets?
    Looking forward to part 3.

@@bruce.KAY-bike-drifter Tyres - great, but they’re 29x3.0 so basically roll over anything! Some complain about the sand and pea gravel with narrower tyres. I carried up to 4L water (2L on down tube and 2L (2x1L) on the forks. I don’t see a need to carry more there is water in towns and at huts. I filter the hut water with a mechanical filter (Katadyn), some use tablets. You could get away with just boiling it :)

Where did you charge your electronics? Enjoying the trip. Plan to do it one day.

@@elossi161161 Hey there! I took a 10k battery bank which got me through a night or two of charging things. I did half the trip camping in huts and half in towns in motels or B&Bs so I charged there. On two occasions I rode into towns that was I was cycling through and when arriving in the towns I asked the visitors centre if they minded me charging up my battery bank behind the counter. Collie was especially good and had a charging-area for hikers and riders :) I mainly charged my phone, watch and bike computer. I charged my bike lights in towns in my accommodation. Cheers!
