i have a question, it could just be me but why is it that every time i record vocals they are MUCH lower volume than the beat and i can barely hear myself, i even turn my mic all the way up but that just adds a lot of distortion and clipping to my voice so idk

@@TheGivingNote I have a USB mic but a pretty decent one, it's called the rode nt USB it's almost 200 dollars
Okay so first off a few things you could be doing wrong include actual room noise such as fans on, air conditioner is blowing., PC noise or fans. Then after that I would assume it could be the amount of gain u have a applied on the actual mic. Just make sure the volume is set to like the halfway point of your mic. Next thing would be when ur recording u could put a noise gate on while recording vocals. I'd recommend ns1 noise suppressor from waves. Then last thing it could be is just ur adding to much gain. Make sure your volume of you vocals track isn't hitting above 0db. Another tip would be to not have the instrumental to loud u can lower it down so u can here urself when recording. I hope that helped. Also one more quick tip go into the sound settings of windows then go to recording area and select ur mic and make sure the gain isn't up to high on that.
