Her grief is still so fresh but she handled that interview with such grace. Keep your dear husband's memory in your heart and mind and he'll never be too far away.
Gwen you are so kind to people towards end of their lives. Thank for your service in the hospice. Sympathy to you Gwen on losing your husband. Keep baking and cooking for your family. Thank you secret Santa for gifting Gwen at a sad time.
What a wonderful lady. Losing her husband Dusty so suddenly after 53 years is unimageable. The strength & her fortitude is inspiring. So glad as she stated that she has a big family surrounding her. She came back to help & volunteer at the hospice care, where she shares her love and undeniable spirit. Thank you Secret Santa, Nate and the EIN crew.
Nate, I love the way you let people tell their story. It's another part of being seen and being comfortable enough to share. This was another recipient who helps others and now it's time for her to know she's loved. Thanks Secret Santa!
May God hold Gwen in the palm of His hand and bring her comfort. She has blessed so many, it is so wonderful that Secret Santa blessed her. I love that she has a community to wrap their arms around her and give her support in her time of grief. May you all be blessed.
My thoughts and prayers go to Gwen and her family. I hope these blessings that she received will help her help others. May God bless Gwen, her family and the soul of her husband Dusty
She seems like a lovely lady and very deserving. My condolences on her loss. Well, I'm sad that this is probably the last Secret Santa of 2024. We watch from Nova Scotia every day and over the last five years or so since we discovered this, it's been a big part of our Christmas. We always ask people if they've heard of the East Idaho Secret Santa and share your videos. We can't afford to do much, but we do adopt two seniors every Christmas who would otherwise have nothing to open on Christmas day. It brings us great joy to do this every year, so I can only imagine the joy that the Secret Santa must get in return with these gifts. All my best to all of the recipients this year, to Nate and his team and of course, the Secret Santa. You're all incredibly inspiring.
Incredibly NICE gal, openly shares her feelings about continuing her volunteer work thru incredibly tough days. I hope her heart stays large for volunteering. Nate, EIN and Secret Santa, well done.
Gwen, so sorry for your loss ! for you getting right back into caring for hospice patients is just beyond--So thankful you have a large family and infinite friends to help you on this journey ! ! God Bless You
Gwen is just too special. I did what she does & it is the greatest gift & the best job you can have. I'm abundantly sorry for her loss & albeit, I do not share in her experience of going back to work after the loss of a loved one, I can only imagine in our line of work hope how much it just heals you to go back & help heal others during their time of need. Thank you, Nate & everyone at EIN & Secret Santa, whose love & kindness are felt all over the world every holiday season. I'm sorry it ends at the end of the year, but that's what makes it so special. To everyone reading, from everywhere, have a happy, safe & healthy New Year from me to all of you! ✨️🕯🫂🎅🏾🎁🎁☃️🎄❄️🫶🏼💐😇🍎🗽✨️
East Idaho News: you’ve changed the lives of so many people - bringing smiles, laughter, and joy to so many hearts - providing healing and restoration to those that truly need it - most of all, you’ve provided a love that will live on for generations to come. ❤️ Thank you for who you are, and a big thank you to the anonymous Secret Santa… you’ve provided all these things for me, too. For that, I’m eternally grateful for who you are, and the incredible support and love you’ve given throughout all these years. God bless you. Thank you. 🙏 ❤❤❤
Gwen, you’re a special person. My first “real” job was as a nursing assistant in a nursing home. I was 18. I fell in love with those folks. One day, a resident took a turn. He was a DNR, so no hospital. The RN wanted someone to sit with him until his family could get there. I had no idea when I volunteered. I sat with him for 18 hrs until he died. His family never came. After that, I was the one who sat with someone who was at their end. Gwen, doing this for your people is a gift they don’t even realize they need. Thank you. I’m sorry for your loss.
‘His family never came’, got me. I felt led to be with my dad the last week of his life. I’m so glad I did as he told me God was there, he called out my mom’s name (who had died many years prior), and also he was talking with someone. And he had not been able to talk at the end. I believe everyone should have someone with them before they pass over to the other side… and yes, there is an other side. We all have a choice: heaven or hell (Romans 1:20).
I can't imagine losing my husband suddenly like that and I wouldn't want to leave him suddenly either. I would feel so lost. I am glad she has a big family and job she loves to keep her grounded. Thank you, Secret Santa, for letting her know that others care for her, too. Thank you, Nate and all of your crew, for including us in these blessed surprises.
i got emotional on that too. thank you secret santa for the gift given to such a sweet and lovely woman who has been paying it forward. happy new year everyone.
Wishing her some easy days ahead. Being where she feels comfortable, is good for her. They can lean on each other when they need to. Manny years of marriage being man's beautiful memories... Thinking of you Gwen. God bless. 🫂💗
Thank you Gwen, it takes a special person to be able to provide end of life care. Thank you for what you do for these people and thank you Secret Santa for making that a little bit easier to do.
Working at hospice to console others while grieving is a gift she is giving. I am glad Secret Santa got her something in return. Love Secret Santa, Nate and the crew at EIN.
Helping others is a great healing when we loose a loved one. She’s a great lady! Thank you Nate, Isabella (beautiful name) and Jordan! Thank you Secret Santa! ❤️🙏
All of the people that work at Hospice facilities have “wings” under their shirts. Having experienced Hospice, they are angels sent by God to bring comfort during a difficult time in life. Prayers for Gwen and her family for 2025.❤️🙏🏽❤️

Yes without a doubt Family means everything !! I’m Glad Secret Santa blessed this caring woman who volunteers to work with those in hospice care, that’s a special caring person beyond any doubt Thank you Nate and the entire team at East Idaho News !! To this wonderful woman May your husband Rest In Eternal Peace 🙏🏼🙏🏼
What a wonderful lady, so strong! My family learned 5 yrs. ago what hospice workers do. They helped us through our 44 year old disabled son passing away! Thank You doesn’t say it enough for the help they give loved ones! ❤️🙏🏼
AMEN! I am sorry to hear that you lost your son, but I know that hospice care eased the way a bit. My younger sister died at 47. No one, including her, knew she was sick. She suddenly stopped eating, was diagnosed with widespread cancer on a Monday and died the next Sunday. Her last week was spent in hospice, where the nurses were angels. They treated both the patients and their families with great kindness, and, as you said, we couldn't thank them enough.
So lovely she has found such a meaningful, supportive and nurturing place to be. May she continue to find peace and comfort of her husband in sweet memories.
I am thinking we're pretty close to the end of this year's Secret Santa series. We've made it through another giving season, I just wanted to say, see you next year. May 2025 bring you and those close to you a wonderful year. Take care and be well. Peace.
@cnatview Thanks for your Blessing and definitely Wishing you a year filled with joy, success, and good health. May all your dreams come true and your days be bright. Best wishes for a wonderful 2025
I lost my wife to Alzheimer’s a year ago. I at least had time to spend with her for several years, but it hurts so bad. To lose your loved one suddenly is a whole other level of pain. It’s a long road to recover, I pray it’s sooner for her. Thank you secret Santa 🎅
Her grief is still so fresh but she handled that interview with such grace. Keep your dear husband's memory in your heart and mind and he'll never be too far away.

Grace and dignity is how she handled it. Bless her heart to push on. Thank you Secret Santa, Nate and Crew.❤️🇨🇦❤️
He looks like he was a nice fella and his wife is an angel. Why do news outlets all over are not doing this.
Because they don’t all have millionaire benefactors donating money to give away. It’s not the news station - it’s the donor.
God bless her and hold her close as she works through her grief and loneliness. Please Lord, fill the gap for her.😢
The giving of her available resources is what she has always done to fulfill her life and get her through challenges. Don't mess with that formula!
Sweet lady ❤
My mother was cared for at the Homestead facilities and received amazing care from their staff.
What a lovely example of persevering under crisis. Thank you Secret Santa for another lovely gift given!
Sending love from the Netherlands. I am glad Secret Santa showed Gwen she's not alone. Devastating loss for her and so close to Christmas.
